Cute like dinner downtown Paris TN. Parking is a little tight, though. I had fried pickles and a patty melt. The patty melt was quite salty for my liking. Pickles were good. Another in my group got a patty melt and thought it was too salty too. My husband got the take three meatloaf luncheon, he thought it was a little tasteless ( but he is hard to please, in all fairness). My sister in law had a chicken sandwich, she said it was fine but very plain. All in all , I would try something else there the next time I go. Service was good, the girl was attentive. read more

#fatjared say...for a local diner, it's what you expect. Some good, some bad, average experience overall, but I would also go back just because of the nostalgia of it. For my reviews, I have a strict criteria. My experience at your establishment must be PERFECT. 5 stars on Yelp is perfect, so to receive that you have to be perfect. Take me back did indeed take me back to my childhood growing up in a small town in Alabama. Everyone knows each other, you have mostly home cooked food, people who are gonna tell it like it is, and football and country stuff everywhere. The choices are what you would expect, not much GF options, nothing vegan I don't think, burgers, fries, coffee, pies, just fun southern cooking. They had a special on chicken liver, and I had to go for it. I actually appreciated that they weren't crazy breaded. Just enough breading to not be too oily, and very good flavor. The burger my wife got was good, but not great. Absolutely best and number 1 thing was the homemade cole slaw. WOAH. The vinegar based option was amazing (they have mayo based as well. Perfectly chopped, enough pickle, great crunch, just awesome!! We had a great random quick stop in Paris, and Take me Back was a shining moment. Had breakfast as they have it all day. Place was like an old time barbecue place. Dad and I had breakfast my sister had their pulled pork sandwich. The waitress checked with us often and the food came in a timely way. The he manger came to see if everyone ones doing ok and everything was all right. If I am I Paris TN a gain would think about going again. Was there for uncle's funeral. And need some were to eat before funeral. read more

I really don't like to food here. I can cook better at home. The food is bland and always soaked in grease no matter what you order. The best fried chicken I've ever had! My wife and I both loved it. The slaw, hush puppies, white beans, and potato salad were also fantastic. They don't take AMEX which is common in small towns due to AMEX higher fees...but just giving you the heads up. The potato salad was very good but nothing else stood out. One bite only for the corn bread, beans and cucumber salad (it should be onion salad)...none of it was good enough to waste the calories. But the potato salad really was delicious. read more

This is a great place to get lunch on downtown Paris. You can get a lunch plate, meat plus 3 sides, or order from the menu. I like the club sandwich with fries. I also like the option to get breakfast at any time. The people are very friendly and it has a casual atmosphere. read more

Had lunch there a couple times on my trips down to check on land we purchased. Nice little home town café, chili is my go to food and was not disappointed. Salad has way to many onions, not sure the reasoning. Staff is always friendly and prices are right. Popular place for the locals, but plenty of parking. read more

Today we went for lunch after church service. The Food was good, I don't eat catfish or any fish so can't tell you about that but there were a lot of people there and they were hard at it with the fish. One other thing that I was hearing a lot of being ordered and that was their plate lunch and today there was Chicken ND dressing, meatloaf, fish and 2 other main course items and it's not coming to me. I know I heard chicken ND dressing because I was hearing cranberry sauce as a side so pretty much like a Thanksgiving meal. She had a hamburger and onion rings, hot tea where as I had a cheeseburger, French fries and water. The Food was piping hot, like I said it was a 30 min wait on delivery of food but it was blamed on new POS system. We were able to watch a full 30 episode on HGTV how I know it took that long. But better a wait and hot food then a wait and it's cold. We didn't get a dessert but did bring home Togo boxes with the 1/2 burgers we could not eat. This is a hard review to write, because my family and I really did enjoy the food that we got here, but there was one serious problem- Our Waitress! To start off, I have to refer to her as "Young Brunette" because she never told us her name. She was running around like a headless chicken, was impatient, rude, and garbled our orders twice. My husband and I got the dinner plates, my sons got bbq, all of which was very tasty but I was so put off by the service I just wanted to leave. PLEASE train your staff better!
