e've been visiting this restaurant for years, as we are frequent visitors to the area. We've had a good experience until today when the quality of our To-Go order was poor - specifically, the kid's burger was charred beyond the point of being edible. I posted a comment on their Facebook page that said "y'all, your food quality is going down hill" with a picture of the burger. Instead of management responding with "how can we make it right?", the owner and her social followers proceeded to blast me as "hiding behind social media" and not saying something to "their faces". Unfortunately, I wish we would have inspected our To-Go order before leaving, as we definitely would have requested a new one. We didn't discover it until we were miles away. Either way, running a business with "the customer is wrong" attitude is not a place that I care to give my business to. Good luck Fishin' Hole!

Excellent restaurant excellent food & friendly service. going back for breakfast now! They have the best hush puppies I've had in a very long time. I grew up going to the lake near here at Town & Country resort which is no longer operating as a marina and campground so this is bringing back loads of fond memories of my childhood; we will definitely come back. We're staying at the KOA Prizer Point

Best fish dinner around. They have other things but I go for the fish every time! The relish on the white beans is excellent

Bottom line - If you are in the Cadiz/Barkley Lake area you NEED The Fishin Hole in your life. Seriously, go and enjoy yourself! Everything is great - food, service, staff, plus they have a ice cream window too! They have something for everyone and I haven't never had anything I didn't like. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!!! My family and I rave about the Fishin Hole, we rave so much that every time we go to the lakehouse with guests, everyone wants to go and try for theme selves! I only had pizza pictures, but I will add pictures as we continue to go!

Another option was the soup and salad bar. White bean soup was like wallpaper paste. Broccoli soup was just as pasty but green. Neither had any flavor. Salad bar had bare minimals. Soup bowls were either a tiny butter dish or a ramekin. When I asked for a soup bowl the waitress pointed to my 2 choices. We shared a club sandwich which was ok. Went for breakfast the next day because the nearest town is 20 minutes away. Breakfast buffet was poor so we ordered off the menu. My traditional breakfast was fair. Ham steak was the highlight of my meal. Never got the potatoes that came with my plate. Also a first for me. Got the heal or end of the bread. Whole place is closed next year for major renovations. Should have closed sooner. Dining room overlooks the lake. Too bad the outside desk wasn't open.

We hadn't eaten out for a while so we seen this place and thought it looked cute so we walked over from Pilot (across the street) and sat down to order our food. I had to repeat my order 4 times and the "waitress" still wasn't getting it. Simple order "ribeye and shrimp dinner" comes with 2 sides but don't order the onion rings because even though it's on the "sides menu" they charged me $2 extra for the small helping that I received. She looked and asked if we wanted to split the dinner and I said "no want 2 of the ribeye dinners with the 2 sides" she looked puzzled and said "ooohhhh so you want the shrimp basket and a ribeye? I repeated what I wanted 3 more times and each time she looked like a lost deer in the headlights. I showed her the picture on the menu (thank God for pictures because like a two year-old she would not have understood what I wanted without the pictures) the food had ZERO FLAVOUR...after we doused it with salt and pepper it was tolerable at best. The meal was $22 a plate but not worth half what they were charging. Now let's get to the second half of this review The Service As I stated earlier in this review, this girl was not quite all there, she brought me the bill 1/2 way through us eating the meal, said "you can take care of this anytime" but proceeded to come back multiple times like she was waiting for us to pay. When I was looking over the bill, I noticed the two dollar charge for the onion rings and when I asked her about it, she looked at me once again with those deer in the headlight look in her eyes shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't know maybe it was a specialty side" and I said no it was on the sides item list. She looked at me like she could care less so I asked her if there was somebody here that would know why they were charging two dollars extra for onion rings. She said no all the managers have gone home for the night so there was nobody there that could answer the question. We paid our bill and left very dissatisfied and now my stomach is kind of upset so I'll probably throw the leftovers away because now I'm not sure if it's going to be safe to eat. The quality of the food is nowhere near what it should be The ribeye steak is like that of which you would buy at Walmart in the box of 5 ribeyes out of the freezer for $15.88 The shrimp is the frozen box of SeaPak shrimp, again that you find at Walmart for $9.87 As my wife and I were walking out the door she overheard them talking crap about us wanting to speak to the manager like they want to keep the manager around all night long to make sure customers are taken care of. Mind you it was not even 5:00 pm yet. And the only reason that I wanted to speak with a manager was the question about the onion rings. Rude unprofessional uninformed staff, probably cracked out, meth heads that couldn't stop twitching for their next fix. The cook kept sliding his jaw like meth heads do when they are high. I almost forgot to mention that the ribeye steak tasted fishy so I'm not sure what that was all about.

We showed up right at opening, five o'clock, and there was already a long line of people waiting to get in. Make a reservation. I'm glad we did. We had a party of four and was seated at a low top that had a view of the kitchen. Lively open space with an open kitchen you can see both the cook line and the prep area. The cornbread was the unexpected standout of the entire meal. Mildly sweet, savory, light and fluffy all the way through. I was not expecting a side dish to steal the show, but it did. We also ordered the double stuffed burrata, and the bread it came with deserves its own mention. Crisp, lightly toasted, with just a touch of char. It paired beautifully with the creamy burrata and the accompaniments on the plate. For my entree I went with the grilled Caesar salad and added shrimp. It ended up being the perfect call. The portion was generous, the shrimp addition made it feel like a real meal. The romaine had this excellent crisp char on it that added so much. The dressing was heavenly. One of the best Caesar dressings I have had in a while. My favorite parts of the night had nothing to do with what was on my plate. We got to watch chef Sara Bradley working the kitchen with her team during service, and it was clear why this place has the reputation it does. I'd love to come back and try the prix fixe tasting menu next time. Overall this was a great experience from start to finish. And a must stop or destination when driving through KY.
