The flavor of the meals we ate were good but there was just something off about each meal. We ordered two Ceaser chicken wraps with grilled chicken. I asked for bacon, it didn't come on the sandwich. My sandwich hardly had any meat and was all lettuce, while the other one had lots of meat and not much lettuce. The fries and onion rings tasted good but they were really greasy and taken out too soon. My husband had a Philly cheesecake he thought was pretty good. The service was good. We did wait quite a while for our food but they were busy. The employees were nice. They had an air condition area with little shop, a porch and an outside area that was super neat. Bathroom were clean. They also had extra bathrooms outside. Be careful when you order the sides. Onion rings are $3.99 extra even though we didn't see that they were upgraded sides and the small extra cup of Ceaser dressing and ranch were $3.00 each. Kind of pricey. read more

First visit of the season. Drinks and LIVE music as we have come to enjoy over the years. They were good as usual. But the food - nope. 'Nachos' were some bag tortilla chips and a little cup of salsa and a little cup of something yellow that tasted like popcorn butter and liquid cheese? Ewww. Onion rings were fun 'onion string' side but sadly they were cold. We also got their 'Cheesedillas' (a quesadilla) they were very greasy on the outside and scalding hot! Overall very disappointed. We've LOVED coming by for lunch,dinner or just ice cream every year. Hope they figure out now to make some scrummy apps! read more

With so many great reviews - how could anything go wrong! The online menu is not the same as the in restaurant menu. The portion are small and double 'fried'! The food is indigestion waiting to happen. Ordered the burger with cheese. The cheese was not even melted on the frozen meat substitute patty that was served on the Kroger hamburger bun. The onion rings are a $2 up charge ( not listed ANY- WHERE) So the less the very poor and less than a McDonalds burger ended up being $16.95. Then the tea was ordered sweet and delivered not sweet. The alcohol drink - (what alcohol) was at least cold. Not a good place to stop, the poorly rated Eddyville Marina has far superior food, service, pricing. Go somewhere else if you can! read more

The Boat works is ok. The outdoor store the guys in archery and guns are full of crap and way over priced. You go in stand at counter for 20 min while they finish talking about some BS story from the day before. Just not the time or place. We really like this place. It is right on the water and really gives you the florida feel. There isnt much seating and it gets PACKED, so you have to get there very early for a seat. If you have a large group especially. Service is good despite is being busy always. I do with the menu was bigger, was very surprised there was no fish. They always have bands which is fun. Few tvs to watch sports at the bar area as well. Love that they do frozen drinks, and they also have ice cream inside. read more

The best Mariana on KY Lake!! Great energy, during the summer there are live bands and a full bar. The food is good bar food perfect after a day on the water. The staff is kind and hustles even on the busiest days. A great local spot! read more

The food and atmosphere are great. We like sitting on the outside patio overlooking the lake. My husband gets a chicken salad with raspberry vinaigrette. The cheeseburger basket & Tomato stuff with chicken salad is delicious. They do serve alcohol. read more

Hu-B's has great views and atmosphere! Beautiful area and part of the lake! We have been here twice this season and both times enjoyed the deck seating and views! First time we had a young gentleman as our server and the whole experience was PERFECT! Our next visit was with a young women who was under age at happy hour/dinner time -when we ordered alcohol- she had to wait for the bartender himself to serve them. The place was very slow and few tables taken- yet we barely were able to get our appetizers. We did enjoy the two drinks each and appetizers then left to go some where else for dinner as we figured it was hard enough getting napkins. We will try them again in hopes it was just a bad time as the place is a perfect place to enjoy the outdoors and views. read more

Came here on our family vacation. Been before and enjoyed everything. This trip not so much. We got here and it took 6 minutes to get our drink order. Mind you...only 4 other tables were here when we were. Then our table ordered food. Cheeseburgers and hot dogs. It took 1 hour and 17 minutes to get our food. Food was good but not worth the wait. Our waitress was nice in beginning but when food came she had an attitude. Plus our sides were wrong. Needless to say that's why the 3 star. Not happy....... read more

Hu-B's at Kuttawa Marina on Barkley Lake, Kentucky caters to boaters and land lovers. I love a lively atmosphere when we're on the water, and Hu-B's is the place to "B" for food, fun, and music. You can boat in or drive in. The food is good - the grilled chicken wrap with a brew is my favorite. But what I really like is the music. Hu-B's has a band Thursday through Sunday in the summer. Sometimes the bands are too loud - the volume could be toned down to allow for conversation - but it gets the dancers jiving. The most fun is watching the little ones dance. As locals, we enjoy dining at various restaurants on Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake. We have eaten at Hu B's before and had a satisfactory dining experience. Sadly, that was not the case this most recent (dare I say, last) visit. The Good - proximity to the water and atmosphere. The Bad - the kitchen was very slow, the Fried Cheddar Cheese Ball appetizer came out with the meal and were too fried to eat! The Ugly - IDK if our waitress was new or had a table of friends that took up all her time, but we both ran out of drinks, and after the food was brought out, never saw our waitress again until I went and hunted her down to get the check. This is the only time I can ever remember giving no tip. A very disappointing dinner at a supurbly located restaurant that exudes an attitude of "We don't care! You're at the lake and don't have many options!" Which for vacationers that don't know the area, maybe true. For locals, we have options and for now I will choose not to go back to Hu B's. This place has such potential, and is a great place for lunch. Great view and atmosphere, while the food is "okay". But for dinner on a Saturday night, it is horrible. A live band, playing horrible classic rock music at earsplitting volume dominates the atmosphere, as well as anything within a couple miles radius. Maybe some acoustic Jimmy Buffet at a normal volume would have added to the experience of being on the water on a beautiful night. But with concert-volume Led Zep and John Cougar blasting, I could not leave fast enough. read more
