I saw several reviews obviously of locals this place but I assure you there is nothing to see here. I was pretty hungry too when I stopped in which lets you know just how below average the food was. I ordered the chicken fried steak with white gravy, fried okra, "Mac and cheese" and "cornbread" Let's start with what went well! I was greeted and sat rather quickly and my drink order was taken. The food came out super fast and now I know why! My country fried steak was a country fried steak, no more no less! My fried okra was fried okra previously frozen I'm sure. The "Mac and cheese" HAHAHA! Was Kraft and was ice cold( Literally ) Zero flavor, zero seasoning, they didn't even try to dress it up. My " Cornbread? Was a blob of tasteless cornmeal and flour that was so dry and tasteless that I took a bite and spit it in my napkin. NOPE!! Just NOPE... Was denied entry for having a registered service dog! Lady was very rude and nasty about it! Her exact words were, " I don't give a shit if it's a service dog or not. There are people eating in there and no dog is going in there. " That is highly illegal!! Secondly, it wasn't just her attitude that was nasty! I love eating at Kay's Kitchen, whenever we are in town. The down home meals and daily specials are always great. The food is reasonably priced and the service is great and makes you feel welcome. We were in town poking around and picked this place to eat. I ordered a Reuben and Bf a chef salad and burger. My Reuben looked fantastic but my first bite was mmmm what is that flavor??? It was horse radish on the Sammy instead of 1000 dressing... wasn't expecting THAT ONE. It was ok but I stole some of my Bf 1000 from his salad and slapped it on there. I asked if I missed reading that from the menu. She said no it's not on there. That's how most people like it around here... well hello maybe on a corned beef Sammy but a Reuben??? Nope too wierd for me. Now the corned beef was excellent and was sliced off a chunk of meat so I dealt with it. I did order a small side of okra cause I love it sooooo. Bf enjoyed his food read more

Classic americana diner, absolutely delicious food, and wonderful service with a smile. Just what you picture it would be in a small town diner in the morning, complete with a big group of regulars that are eager to get in when the place opens at 5:30 AM!! Had a classic breakfast with scrambled eggs bacon and toast, with a side of biscuits and gravy, can't say enough how good the food is!! This was an outstanding breakfast! We stopped in Princeton overnight and a local recommended this place. It did not disappoint. If you want a true Southern breakfast this is worth the stop. My dad, a Southerner and breakfast connoisseur, says this is one of the best breakfasts he's ever had. The food was fantastic, portions generous, prices reasonable, and staff very friendly. After not finding much of anything open in Princeton, we decided to try Kay's Kitchen. Got there at 1pm, and they close at 2pm. It took about 5 minutes to place an order. Ordered the meat and 2: open faced roast beef sandwich, okra and coleslaw. The other meal was country fried steak, mashed potatoes and brown beans. They were out of cornbread and blackeyed peas. The wait for the food was 15 minutes. A little long for this type of meal, but maybe fine as the steak and okra had to be fried. (We later learned a staff member had "walked out" mid shift, contributing to the longer than normal wait.) The food was okay, nothing exceptional, except for the okra. Some of the best I've had! Lightly breaded with even the larger pieces very tender. A nice surprise. The restaurant was obviously populated with locals and had just finished the lunch time rush. Give them a try. read more

Has great food at very reasonable prices. Breakfast is great. The plate lunches are so good. But the burgers are the best! The waitresses are friendly and you can tell they enjoy what they do. We are always checked on several times during a meal. Refills are prompt. All in all, it's a great place to eat at a great price! read more
