Came upon this place from word of mouth and boy were we happy! My husband was craving a big salad and believe me he got what he wanted. He had the BLT salad that was packed with bacon! The dressing was a homemade jalapeño ranch that he loved. I had one of the best Rueben sandwiches I have had in a long time. The meat was super tender! It was not made the traditional way but somehow she made a hash of the meat, kraut, and cheese. The sandwich was proportioned to perfection. Not overdressed. The owner was a joy to talk with, this is a Kentucky proud restaurant and the food speaks for itself. If you're looking for a nice friendly place to eat stop by and enjoy. Worst food I've ever had besides rotton. As a matter of I didn't eat much have half to dogs. I got me a microwaved corned beef cubes on bread. Suppose to a Ruben. Today's special is Philly cheesesteak on a homemade hoagie roll. Yum!!! Me: that sounds delicious but I don't like liquid, yellow cheese. Lady at counter: that's ok. The atmosphere is bland but it is a diner. No frills but very comfortable. Service was very good. Just the right amount of checking in. Not pushy or invisible. We went there to eat tonight and ordered a taco pizza with black and banana peppers. The total should have been at most 2o bucks we were charged 25.00 and she did not give us a bill or a receipt so we have no idea where the other 5 dollars went! BUT the worst part was a NAPKin was found in the taco salad and the olives in the pizza were rotten! The server told us "it's your fault, you should have ordered something better!!!" For being the only patrons in the establishment I feel it's safe to bet you'd expect excellent service. While the waitress was polite she didn't seem invested. My husband asked what was most popular and she provided a few options. After placing our order she came back to our table to let us know they didn't have what they needed to make what he ordered. While reviewing the menu again the establishment received a phone call. A gentleman in the other room stated he didn't have the information requested because they had been VERY BUSY. If I was in charge I'd pull the POS system receipts and see just how busy they were. The place was a ghost town. I ordered a chefs salad and it was not what I expected. While I'm not from the area I thought a chefs salad was a standard menu item. The ranch dressing was super tasty and the white bread was alright. Today I stumbled upon a quaint little place perfect to enjoy my lunch. Thanks to YELP I found Our Daily Bread as i would have never seen it driving down the road. Immediately walking in I was greeted by a sweet voice then allowed to seat myself. I chose the table with my back to the window so I could take the whole place in. I enjoyed my small Zesty Chicken Salad and unsweetened tea, which was absolutely perfect and full of goodies! The waitress couldn't have been better as she checked on me from time to time yet also allowed me to relax and enjoy my meal. I did come in after the lunch crowd and waited so I could get nice photos of their cute place. I couldn't leave without ordering two slices of cake to take home! It's ok had ice cream and it was good a cones were fresh. Had a slice of chocolate cake and well it seemed like I got 2/3 of a slice vs the whole slice but at the whole slice price when I asked about it I go no response. The cake was a bit average cake the best part was the frosting, it was rich and smooth chocolate for me it was a good amount per cake ratio (given the cake I'll talk about after) bit I do know for some it could be a bit much it's one of those rather way you'll get some people happy and other not so much thing. The cake was on the older size on the dryer side for cakes. Witch could just mean the cake wasn't made that day. Update well sort of I want to make clear that it is hard well very hard for restaurants and I do understand when I do a review I do it for two things for customers and the business. For the business I want you to succeed I do about 99% of the time I am human I want the business owners to read what my experience was and use it to better ur business. That leads me to the customer we work hard for our money. I want people to be able to spend their money and time enjoying themselves and walking away happy that's it that why I do the reviews more or less I could go on but it's late. The owner has reached out to me and has shown me the passion he has for the restaurant and wanting people to be happy with thier food there and I believe that I had an off day for that restaurant and will note that I will gladly try once more due to how the owner took what I had to say to heart and what's to fix any issue that some one has had that takes passion we know not everyone will be happy but that doesn't mean u shouldn't try in closing I want to give this place another go believing that I was there on a off day. read more

Came up from Clarksville, TN for some sammiches. Fresh baked breads (except the rye) are all made in house. I got the corned beef Reuben. Yum, yum. The corned beef is not made in house, but I was informed by our extremely nice and knowledgeable server that it comes from a local vendor. Wherever it comes from there was a good sized portion of it slapped between those two slices of rye bread...along with the delicous sauerkraut, thousand island dressing and Swiss cheese. My wife got the Cubano sandwich. This was served on jalapeno cheese bread and with a spicy pepper mustard. These two items alone were a great addition to the sandwich, but off the beaten path of a traditional Cuban. My one complaint is that I am a firm believer in informing your customers (via the menu description) when your version of a regional sandwich, such as a Cuban sandwich, differs from how it is REALLY made. The menu description should indicate that it is 'Eddyville's take on the famous Cuban sandwich'...just my two Lincolns. Each sandwich was accompanied by some kettle chips and a pickle. We visited the bakery afterwards and got a cinnamon roll for the road, have not tried it yet. Anyhow, if you are in the area, maybe after a trip to Venture River water park, you should really stop by for a sandwich at this local eatery rather than a big boring chain. read more

It's great to see that in a small town like Eddyville, there is a place that is serving fresh, quality food. I'm not from the area, but my parents live in Kuttawa during the summer time. We usually eat at the Mexican restaurant if we are dining out (which oddly enough used to be in this location). This past weekend, we decided to try this place. This place has a little bit of everything, hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, salads, pizza/calzones and different pastries and cakes. Entering the restaurant, you see the pastry case. To the left is where the dining room is. We had a younger female server who was very friendly and fast. I ordered the calzone with mushrooms, black olives and pepperoni ($8.99). The rest of the family ordered the daily special, chicken Alfredo, chicken quesadilla ($7.99) and the southwest roast beef sandwich ($7.99). We also ordered 3 breadsticks ($2.29). The food didn't take a long time at all. The breadsticks came out before, the were more a bread stick than an Italian version, bear that in mind. The calzone was huge. I think you could split this with two people. I was only able to eat half of it. The calzone had a nice dome on top, with crisp crust. They put some kind of seasoning rub on the crust, it was great. I had a bite of the chicken quesadilla, it was great. I've had the one from Buzzard Rock before, and this one blows that one out of the water. The pasta, I was told was good, but the sauce was rather runny, I think it would've been better thicker. It was so runny, that the to go box we took some of it home with leaked in the back of the car because of the seat incline lol. The beef roast was good, I like the jalapeño bread it comes on. I was just really impressed with the food here. I'm glad that it's somewhat close to where my parents live. We come up for the winter sometime to enjoy the lake views, I think we will have to stop by here for a takeout sometime soon. read more

Wonderful lunch spot! First time for us and super impressed with the breads and lunch choices. Husband had Grilled Tuscan chicken sandwich and I had blackened chicken wrap. Amazing Food! The bread is freshly made, we had bacon cheddar. The omelet was huge, stuffed full of ham. I had the southwest sandwich with jalapeño bread. It was spicy, but not hot. The bread offset the heat. Coffee is the best. It is better than any Starbucks. Did not eat desserts because we were full, but they all sounded wonderful. Prices are very reasonable. We stayed in this little town on our way from MO to NC. We went to this restaurant for breakfast and the food and service was great and the people were friendly. Super friendly staff and there seem to be a lot of locals eating here.
