We had pizza on another occasion and thought it was solid. The toppings were good, and the cheese they use is very good. That is important for a good pizza. This is coming from someone who grew up on New Haven-style pizza read more

My husband and I stopped here in a whim while traveling. We simply looked up 'lunch near me' online and decided since it was a local establishment with a good rating that we'd try it. We didn't even check to see what type of cuisine it was! We questioned our choice when there was only one car in the parking lot, but there isn't much else to choose from on that exit and we were hungry! No lines, No waiting & immediately greeted at the front door! We WERE the only table seated for about 1/3 of our visit which made it so much easier to converse with our waitress, Brittany! She recently moved to the area from the same area we live! SUCH A SMALL world! The food was sooooo good! Perfect portions for lunch! The southern hospitality was heartfelt & sincere! The restaurant was clean! No complaints at all with Mama D's! If possible, we'll stop on our way back home, too! read more

Food was great had muscles, lasagna, chicken fettuccine, stuffed shells and cannolis must get bread. Our server was wonderful. Great atmosphere and friendly people. A must try!!! Hanna was the best!!!!! read more

The best NY style pizza this side of the Hudson! Great food great prices. We drive 35 minutes to get here but it's worth it.

Absolutely outstanding - my family are staying at a nearby hotel for the night, and because my husband will be on a work trip on Father's Day, we decided to stop in because he loves Italian food. First of all, our waitress, Hannah, was SO nice - she checked on us often, was able to answer our questions, served us as quickly as she was able, AND she worked with me on my unique special request. Second, the atmosphere is so homey. There was Oldies on the radio, the lights weren't too bright, and the smell of the food just made me feel so comfortable. Third, their food was so good - we ordered fried mushrooms and garlic olive oil dipping sauce for our bread as appetizers, my husband ordered pasta, and I had a Sicilian pizza. The bread was soft and fresh, the mushrooms had the most delicious breading, the olive oil was flavorful, and my husband and I were in love with our entrees!! The entree portions are really large, too, so I'm actually really happy we're going to be able to enjoy their food again haha. Lastly, they were extremely courteous when it came to our still working on our food just past close - Hannah even made us feel at ease when she offered us dessert and I'd almost turned her down because it had just turned closing time (their tiramisu is SOOO good, by the way). We're not sure if were going to be in the area ever again, but if we ever come this way again, we're definitely stopping in for a meal. This place deserves all the praise!! read more

Wow!! That chicken Alfredo was incredible and twice what I could eat. My husband had lasagna and it too was delicious! I love how the owner stopped by our table to check if we were happy. We could not be any happier. Can't wait to be back in the are to go eat at Mama D's. I give them 10 stars. read more

Food lacks salt and seasoning. They charge for water as it comes in bottles. Makes one question the quality of the tap and what they're cooking with. Atmosphere is friendly and service was nice. Receipt showed charges that weren't clear on menu or clarified when ordering (water, dressing, cheese on garlic dots). Was shocked that they only offered unsweet tea. read more

It's not that the food was bad, but when we ordered half sweet half unsweetened tea, they brought us unsweetened tea in a glass and then a bottle of extra sweet Gold Leaf tea...then charged us for 4 teas!! Not ok! Never ever happened to us before! Wish the server had told us! read more

Great food. Nice servers. Relaxing g vibe. It's a great local spot! If you're visiting it's worth a stop. We love their spaghetti wirh meat sauce and fresh bread. They have a lunch portion for $7.95 and cones with the bread and a small salad. Cant beat that price! The pizza is amazing here too. Nice local family owned place. read more

When entering we were greeted and seated. Drinks were brought out, followed by a bread basket with butter. All good. Waitress was smiling with a great attitude. So that girl and her efforts, attitude, ethics were an A plus. She rocked. Started with a sampler platter. When arrived we were informed after the fact they were out of the onion rings that were included. There were ravioli there that were an orange color i had never seen before? The attempt to eat it was made. But my wife and I quickly found out it wasn't something we wanted to continue to consume. My salad was brought out and it was good. Then the food order came out.........I was overtaken by a aroma the best I can describe it as the juice of green olive jar???? Thats as close as I can come up with. My wife had the Italian Sub. One bite and she grabbed a napkin and spit it out. She thought she was going to get sick and bolted to the bathroom. We asked the young lady for to go boxes, paid and we left. I tipped her well, she was the best part of the experience there. Came home, threw the food away and both of us agreed we were not going to do that again. Now there were 6 or 7 older couples in there eating away. Senior discounts apply! Maybe it was our decision of what we ordered? I don't know. But best of luck to them. read more

The stuffed pizza is extremely good, the owners were very nice and the place has an amazing family restaurant vibe. Couldn't be more happy

I highly recommend Mama D's! The food was so delicious. Great service, the waitress was wonderful. Its very pretty and clean inside. They make their own homemade bread which was so good! It was a great surprise to meet the owners at the end of our visit. They were so nice. We will definitely be back!!!! read more

Mama D's is always, always good. I order the pasta primavera almost every time, excellent! Restaurant is very clean, service is fast and the staff is always very friendly. Great place for Italian food! read more

Low cost meal. Had lasagna that was ok. The sauce was put on the side not baked into it. The side salad was extremely basic pretty much just lettuce with some dressing. The bread served with the meal was old and busted all over the table and you when you would bite into it leaving crumbs all over you and the table. Place was very dated inside and resembled a nursing home atmosphere. The staff were all obviously just going through the motions nothing to get excited about here. Was sent here by recommendation by a local. Who said it was a good cheap place to eat. Pretty much what they said. Just a cheap place to eat. read more

If you're looking for a small casual affordable place with delicious pasta, pizza, and appetizers, this is a one of a kind place in the Ky Lake area. It's in a great location for any lake travelers but you'll find lots of locals dining here. The atmosphere is pretty basic and plain but it's perfect if you're just wanting some good Italian food. There is a nice selection of pastas at affordable prices and our family loved all the appetizers as well. We had a very kind and helpful server who was patient with our crabby toddler. We really appreciated her helping find ways to distract him and keep him happy during our visit. read more

Great small family owned italian restaurant. Everything I've had from here is good. It's old school and casual, no need to dress up. I've had the pizza delicious, the lasagna restaurant favorite, and the cannoli is homemade. You can also get a whole bottle of wine for around 12.00, what a deal. And don't forget, try their garlic knots YUMMY read more

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G food and customer service! This little gem of an eatery is just what the mama ordered! Great customer service from the hostess, our waitress and the checkout. Anything we asked for e received, except the pineapple for a Hawaiian pizza. Food quality was excellent. Portion sizes were big. Prices were reasonable. Bathroom was clean. Highly recommend you give this locally owned business a try! Calzones read more

No flavor. Dry food, no sauce with anything or any meal at all. 1-1/2 hour wait. The waiter didn't check on our table, only coming back twice after being asked repeatedly. Food tasted like it was one of those freezer meals. Very small variety of drinks to choose from. read more

Good lunch specials. We had the fettuccine Alfredo, Pizza rolls, and stuffed shells. The lunch specials came with a small salad. The staff were friendly and courteous. read more

Cute little Italian place! We always do take out! Pizza is amazing, so is the lasagna and penne a la vodka!

We started this journey with garlic knots added cheese they tasted great. My wife went with the baked ziti it was very cheesy super hot and fresh. Their lasagna is awesome and their pizza is uniquely delicious and fair priced. Highly recommended

The food was amazing, the service was and atmosphere were very good. I'll definitely eat here again and I highly recommend it to others.

Best Italian food anywhere....big city or small town! We've never had anything there that wasn't delicious!

Vickie our server was awesome!!!! The owner was awful!!! She sat at a table on her phone unless someone came in. Instead of updating the wine list to show the correct pricing or having the place cleaned. She was not friendly . We ordered a $16 dollar bottle of wine, when we received the bill it was $18.... We asked our server and she talked to the owner who said it was $18 because it was a different brand. Not my fault you misrepresented the product. When we proceeded to check out, you do that at the door, I questioned the price and the owner then came over to change it, at which point the bill doubled and the cashier had to say something. Finally got it straightened out but never an apology from the owner. Food was mediocre, ordered the fried ravioli, looked as thought it came from the freezer section at a grocery store and was microwaved. Pizza was average. Garlic knots were good. Also, the place needs a thorough cleaning!!!! Dust so thick you can cut it! I feel the owner has given up!!! read more

One of our local favorites, amazing food and great service. Always consistent and quality!! Good prices and portions are also good size. Highly recommend read more

Yummy food! Love the Alfredo, white pizza and broccoli roll! Absolutely recommend the Cannolis! A dessert must! We often get it to go, everything is made fresh so even if you dine in you have a bit of a wait! Authentic New York italian! Only bonus would be if they used the homemade thick pasta noodles! Closest thing to what we grew up on in Denver!! read more

Ambiance is crap, rude they all act like they are so entitled. Food is so so if you think something is Italian because it is buried in oregano this is your place helpings small and over , over ,over priced. Save your time and your money read more

Love the food at Mama D's!! Great service. A favorite of mine for delicious Italian food.

Always a friendly atmosphere and the food is fresh and flavorful. I don't like that they always have bottled water but I realize being a Calvert City resident myself how horrible the Calvert water is! Also don't expect sweet tea... but that's to be expected because the family is authentic New York Italian! Alfredo is one of our favorites and can always make 2 meals from it! The white cheese pizza is too die for and the broccoli roll! Yum! read more

Better pizza than I expected to find here when I stopped for the night. The cheese was great but they skimped on the pepperonis and sauce which were also very good. Crust was cooked well. The biggest problem for me was how salty the dough was. It really took away from what seem to be very high quality ingredients. Still better than what you'd typically find off the interstate. read more

We got food to go and it was all really good! The fettuccini alfredo is large and the sauce is thick and creamy. We got the garlic knots with cheese (add marinara) and that was a great side. The side salad that comes with the meal is nothing special and could be better. I only waited about 15 minutes. We will be back for sure. Very nice staff. read more

Love the pizza rolls here they are the best I have ever had they are huge. My wife loves the food also. Probably not the friendliest place but the food makes up for it . I think the pasta is a little over priced for what it is but I'm not a huge pasta fan. But would recommend and have been here several times. Mostly for the pizza rolls! read more

Just so so food for me! Been twice but both times didn't care for the food! I'll stay home and cook my own spaghetti!

This a very nice find just off purchase parkway, and especially if you get a little tired of the Grand Rivers offerings and are looking for a change. The chef here if from NYC and brings some of that authentic American - Italian flare to the menu. The garlic knots for example, are absolutely delicious with lots of cheese and olive oil don't miss them. The chicken parmesan is quite good and the salads are also excellent. They do of course have pizza and calzones and other offerings but beware there's no alcohol served here. The good news is you can bring your own wine, glasses and opener and enjoy your own favorite wine so no worries. The atmosphere is quite casual, it is family friendly, they have plenty of parking but do be careful to look for the sign for mama d's because it is small and not very well lit. Overall it's a very nice menu well done and well seasoned and I would recommend everyone should give it a try. read more
