This was a solid little lunch cafe. The food was delicious. Service was good. Inside was quaint and homey. I had the club quiche. It was delicious. Great flavor! The rolls are also amazing. I think Texas Roadhouse has a pretty good roll experience. These blow those out of the water. Dessert options were extensive. And looked delicious. But, I did not try them. Went for desserts as they are really good and that did not disappoint. My husband wanted some lunch so we split a burger and fries. Fries were good but the burger meat was like bulk made sawdust burgers. Unsure how it was cooked but definitely not grilled. Not sure if the waitress was inexperienced but we had to ask to have our table cleaned, make a second request for lemons for our drinks, ask napkins and silverware after our food was delivered. She never checked on us after the food was delivered and we had to get our check at the register. Ended up getting the desserts to go one of which was in the bag upside down. read more

We've been here numerous times while visiting town while our daughter was in college. The yeast rolls and strawberry butter are worth the visit in and of itself. We love the poppyseed dressing for salad and also the poppyseed chicken over rice is good home cooking. We've never been disappointed. To top it off, you have to get a dessert from the case. It's overall a cramped space, which is not really their fault. However, if you're on the younger side, don't expect great service. It seems the waitresses expect you to not tip, so they don't check on you at all. When we got to the table, we didn't have silverware. The only times the waitress came to the table was to bring water, food, and one other time. We had to ask for our to-go boxes and silverware. Additionally, the man that rang us up was rude and passive aggressive. We were polite, but he acted like we shot a puppy when we went to pay. This is the third time I've been here and each time it's gotten worse. I'm disappointed because I used to like this restaurant. Years ago, under different ownership, it was amazing. Now, it's a different story. Apparently, kindness or a simple smile is too much to ask for. The staff was not friendly, especially the cashier who was rude about having to count change. The creole burger used to be so good, but now it's like they microwaved a frozen patty seconds before serving. The rolls aren't even that great anymore. Food just seems like the cheap way out for one of the most expensive places to eat. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the strawberry cake. read more

I've been here a couple times now and it's been excellent every time. This clean little bakery is easily one of the best places to eat in Murray. The chicken salad is out standing and among the best I've had. Everything sold here is made in house including the bread, Thor famous rolls and desserts. Despite this place staying very busy, the service is fast and you get in and out relatively quickly. Parking is a little tight but they have a back dirt lot. A favorite lunch spot. read more

We have not been to this Resturant for probably over a year. I can't remember why we stopped going, but went again today. The special casserole was tasteless and we think they downsized the size of the plate, but had filled the plate. They may have reduced the size as I maybe found out why when I payed the bill. I was charged additional for the salad which used to be included with the roll. We had not read the details on the menu. Maybe if we go back in a year or two, they will have another menu or improve. My wife thought they had even watered down the orange yogurt dressing for our salads, but gave us an adequate amount in a pretty dish. We don't think it is worth it. read more

It's a good place to lunch. Bring a little more money because it can add up on your bill. However, it will be an enjoyable lunch. It does get very busy around 11:30-1:30 so you'll want to either get there before or be prepared to wait a bit, unless you've called in a to-go order. You don't really want to wait until after the rush because they make daily specials and some of their homemade desserts may be fresh out. However, the regular menu has good options. Their daily quiches and soups are quite good. Fair warning: that lobster bisque is very rich. The creamy asparagus is good, especially if you're feeling ill. Honestly, just give it a shot or two. And make sure you get a roll. Everybody lives for those rolls. read more

Dumplins was a staple in my young college life 25 years ago. Back in Murray for a quick college tour and my food memories weren't wrong. The fruit tea, the beautiful, fluffy rolls, and daily soups are remembered well. I tried the white cheddar poblano pepper soup today...a HIT! The layer cakes were glorious, the strawberry tasted like a fresh June berry. Always a pleasure to return to Dumplins, next time I look forward to spiked fruit tea. read more

A co-worker, a native western Kentuckian, raved about Dumplin's. When I finally had a chance, I figured, "Why not?" I pulled in for lunch. It is a quaint place that also has a hustle and bustle to it, particularly at lunch. (Just because it's busy.) On my visit, I was promptly seated. My order was taken quickly, and I started off with a salad. The salad was pretty good, and then came time for my "dumplins." (I did the combo order--very inexpensive.) Honestly, how could you go here and not order dumplings? I don't eat dumplings often, but these were very good--a good choice! The smaller serving was PLENTY. After the salad and dumplings (AND BREAD), I was just about ready to explode. Somehow, I thought it was necessary to try the dessert dumplings. While they were good, I was entirely too full and most of that order went uneaten. Sharing with others might be a good idea on the dessert (I was alone.). All-in-all, Dumplin's is a cute, happening lunch spot. The service was attentive--I had plenty of refills of my water, which I always appreciate!! TDF!!! I lived in Murray years and years ago and this was always my favorite restaurant . Whenever i am in town, I make it a point to eat there. I have never had a better tuna sandwich in my life . The bread and rolls are unbeatable. My grandma and nana bring the rolls to Christmas every year! They are always my favorite part of the holiday meal! Second, there were six or seven specials for lunch, and every one sounded good. Third, the hot rolls are HUGE, and are shaped like they're baked in a flower pot. Fourth, the dumplings (with a name like that, I had to try them, don't you think?) in a chicken broth were very good. Fifth, the food lived up to its description: sandwich, salad, and quiche, all were quite tasty. Sixth, drinks were refilled and coffee warmed several times. Seventh, our gluten-free request on one meal was handled flawlessly. Eighth, not only did we get boxes for the leftovers, we also received "to go" cups for the drinks, which meant a lot to my wife, who really loved the tea.
