If you're a buffet fan this is definitely a decent one and probably the best you'll find in the Jackson area. It's a cute spot with ample seating (you seat yourself) and pretty views of a (man-made?) pond from the windows as you dine. There's a solid selection of seafood and traditional southern fare. I really enjoyed the corn muffins, chicken & dumplins, and chicken tenders and chocolate cobbler. It's a solid selection and the service was fast and friendly. As others have mentioned - if you leave hungry that's likely on you as the diverse selection has a little bit of something for everyone. we went to Brooksie barn today for Father's Day and let me tell you do not go to this place to spend your hard earned money. The food is very bland on top of that. It is nasty and cold. I got a piece of fish bit into it there was a hair in it. I went to the manager. The manager made an excuse oh well everywhere you go you get hair in your food that's normal and it didn't come from nobody here. It fell off the glass because if it was cooked in there. It would've cooked it in there. No let me rephrase that if a hair is cooked in food and the crust is still gonna be there buddy and yeah, even though the manager said, don't worry about the bill that's not the problem if you don't care no more for your store then have your employees to wear a hairnet while they're cooking food like that and letting hair stuff all the food and you make it sound like it's all right that's a problem. That's a sanitation sanitary problem not only that but to allow your food to be cold on the bar and it's supposed to be hot I mean, I understand a few problems here and there, but when it comes down to hair in the food, cold food high process it's not right this place apparently needs new management or management training now on the waiters hands and waitresses hands. They are great they are on top of everything. Most of them are OK and friendly. but as for the cooks, they need to be more careful with their hair and stuff of that nature the management needs to learn, not hair is in food everywhere and most food that serves to be hot. I was with a group of about 20 college athletes. We got great service and the food was fantastic. Had something for everyone.

First, I have to say that this was one of the best buffet restaurants that I have visited. The ribs and chicken were excellent, the desserts were the comfort food you grew up with and the taste was great. Food had no flavor. The ribs taste like they had liquid smoke on them. The cornbread was loaded with sugar which is gross to me. Very, very expensive. Just my wife and I eating the buffet cost $45. That's not counting the tip. I will not be back!!! read more

Overpriced, bad food: Three buffet's and three waters. $16.99 per buffet. It was Sunday and I asked what the cost was. The girl at the cash register said, "It depends on the day." Now that I'm home doing the review, I see they charged us for 1 drink ($2.75). So, my total was $58.96. With a 10% tip I paid $64.96!!! Well, maybe the Sunday buffet is better, you say. The peas were bad, the corn was so bland, and even tasted bad after salt and pepper. How can you mess up canned vegetables? The pork was dry and tough, my son said the ham tasted bad, and the Mac and cheese tasted bad. The chicken strips were ok, but not even close to Zaxby's. Fool me once, shame on you!! I'm actually mad from this experience! I was introducing this restaurant to my 12 and 13 year old boys for the first time, and I'm a resident of Jackson. It used to be pretty good, before COVID. NEVER AGAIN will I go there! If I could take away the one star I would. Our waiter was a nice guy from Venezuela. It was I'm the only thing that was positive. My salad was ok. Don't waste your money. The place has a very unpleasant and musty odor. The food is over cooked and seems to come from cans and boxes. The only decent dish was the fried chicken and maybe the catfish, according to my teenage son. Chose this establishment based on previous visits. Mistake. Canned ham? Instant watery mashed potatoes. Runny stuffing with no flavor. Corn, no flavor. Pork tenderloin, dried out. Make sure you look at the more recent reviews. I made the mistake of looking at the reviews from back years ago and thought this was going to be a great place. It probably was when and if they actually cooked here. That is no longer the case unless you consider instant mashed potatoes cooking. I will say the chickens strips were pretty good and surely they fried them. Everything else, it seems, they have turned over to a food service supplier. For such a highly-rated buffet, there are few choices. Our party had someone who is allergic to fish, who had to make do with a rather limp, undressed salad. AND pay full price. The hours are erratic, but the ambiance is nice and the staff friendly. However, the food has no variety (only catfish and shrimp the day we were there), the vegetables are over cooked, the cold salad is limp and unattractive, and the dessert variety is either canned pudding or a very tiny slice of pie of indeterminate type. A good, solid Country Style Family Buffet. They have 2 food bars, the soup/salad bar which has basic salad/food items and the "big" bar which has lots of "southern" food.
