I am so glad we stopped at the Love's right off the freeway here and saw this BBQ spot. You have to stop here! Everything was so good! We got the brisket, ribs, baked beans, coleslaw, and mac n cheese and it was devoured by the time we were done. It was extremely tender, really delicious and the BBQ sauce was to die for. The food is excellent and parking is very spacious to accommodate not only truckers, but any customer who is seeking a delicious meal. I have stopped here several times over the last few years. It's a roadside food trailer right off the I-40 Northbound Exit 87 off ramp. The trailer is under a permanent pavilion with seating. They have cold soft drinks, water and sports drinks. The food is always good. Today I got the chopped brisket, mustard potato salad and mayo slaw. Their BBQ sauce has a little kick and went well on the brisket. The service was fast and the food is fresh. Great little stop if you are traveling. Large parking lot for tractor trailers. Roadside BBQ stand! Good friendly service. The young ladies are knowledgeable of the food they are serving. Had a brisket plate with two sides. Potato salad and baked beans. Plate came with a bun, so you can make a sandwich. Honestly, ask for an extra bun and make two sandwiches. Potato salad is mustard based(which I prefer. Texture and flavor are good...just a little sweet for my taste. Beans are average. Brisket has a good flavor. Nothing stands out or is overpowering...just a good smoked brisket! Also ordered a slab of ribs. Ribs have good smoke flavor. Light seasoning and not overcooked. The spicy sauce is SO GOOD!!! Would eat here again!! The taste of the ribs had a hint of starter fuel in them. The season was bland but the sauce gives them the taste that's needed. The sides were the real stars of the show. We stumbled on this place during our drive from Memphis to Nashville. We were searching for somewhere to grab a quick and easy lunch and saw the sign on the highway. We quickly looked it up online and it had good reviews. We needed gas as well and there is a Love's at the same exit. We figured we would check it out and fill up at the same time. We were surprised as we exited the highway to see that it was some type of food trailer with a structure built around it. In the back they also had a shipping container they appeared to be working out of as well. We were a little hesitant at first but how could all the reviews be wrong? Besides, there were other people pulling up just as we were ordering. We checked out the menu board and made our selections. My wife decided to get a third rack of ribs which comes with two sides. She chose cole slaw and potato salad. I ordered a regular BBQ sandwich with spicy sauce and no slaw. Our food was ready very quickly. We paid a little bit more to use a credit card but can't remember how much. We sat down at one of the three picnic tables out front and ate our meal. It was good BBQ but we can't say it was in the top 5. Overall, it was good place to stop on a late spring day. read more

Terrible experience. Unfriendly service. I felt pressured to order immediately. Was asked what I wanted on a sandwich without being offered what was available and was rudely told they didn't have what I asked for (lettuce). The bun was dry and did not taste fresh; it crumbled as I was eating the dry-tasting chicken. My husband did not get what he ordered. We weren't given napkins - at a bbq place.. I saw a woman try to get some paper towels from an automated dispenser and it was empty. I wasn't impressed at all and felt misled by the high ratings. Coleslaw was just your run of the mill slaw like you get from any grocery store. Their spicy sauce was very good, thankfully, because the pulled pork needed something to give it flavor. If you like lean and dry meat, with very mild smoke, you may like this place. I like my barbecue moist, smoky and melt in your mouth flavor. This isn't it. Maybe their sandwiches are the way to go. This was delicious! We were parked at the truck stop across the street for the night and I walked over and grabbed dinner. It was terrific. They were out of the pulled pork, it was late. The ribs did not disappoint! Great smoke flavor and the spicy bbq sauce was perfect. Glad I bought and extra bottle while I was there. First of all, this is basically a food truck with a covered area to eat....I was a little disappointed with that when I arrived. However, the food more than compensated for the food truck atmosphere. Two nights ago in Texas, we decided to stop at a ribs place to try some Texas BBQ. We enjoyed some good eats, and will have to say this meat is just as good or better. The other weary traveler and I wanted nothing more than a BBQ sandwich to discover the pork was tasty and tender. Don't care what others say about the store-bought sides because we didn't need any to be fully satisfied with our $6.00 (a piece) jumbo 'wiches. Mind you, Exit 87 BBQ is a mere truck stop stand immediately off the interstate that's surrounded by large dirt and gravel parking lots. The beans were pretty good, not too sweet, nice balance and some smoke. Tator salad was good, had some flavor that I wasn't sure what it was, mustard or something, different from what we Yankees eat up north.
