Environment reminded me of I don't know what but it reminded me nonetheless. It was clean and inviting inside. Food was awesome and had great flavor. Ordered brisket nachos for lunch. Chips were stale and the "brisket" (what little was on the stale chips) was cold. The cheese provided to pour over the dish was just Ok. For the price I paid I expected a nice plate of nachos but was highly disappointed. The only reason for giving 2 stars is the side salad was fresh, otherwise 1 star max! We sat on the new expanded side, there were literally 4 girls working the other side of the bar (it was NOT crowded) and no one tending to the other side. 2 different employees brought food/drinks to other guests and never even acknowledged us. I ordered delivery, which ended up adding $10.00 to my total. So, over $30 for "brisket" nachos and an enchilada. The food was horrible. What meat there was on the nachos was fat and gristle, gray and flavorless. There was nothing else on them. The enchilada was somewhat better. The fries and rice were old and lifeless, and once again inedible. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! It was as if they had scraped up the trash and droppings off the counter top and threw them in the box. This is dishonest and unkind. They were closed by the time I discovered the lousy food, so there is no chance for getting someone to fix this. O.k. our second visit to Coyote Blues and this hidden gem is quickly becoming our home away from home even if it is an hours drive away. We tried something different this time momma got the shrimp & grits and I got the Los Cabos. Both dishes were outstanding!!!! Sauces here are the key and the desert was bread pudding with white godiva and kahlua sauce OMG!!!, decadence in a desert!! 2 for 1 margaritas every day, open to close too! Los Cabos is grilled fish very tender, tasted like Mahi Mahi topped with shrimp and crawfish cream sauce that is so smooth and delicious with a tiny kick. Served with poblano rice, an interesting twist on rice. Its green from the poblano peppers and has a slight peppery taste. Garnished with asparagus spears that were grilled but could have used some garlic in the cooking, momma said. Service was top notch, friendly, attentive and precise. Rebecca treated us like we were the only people in the restaurant and even our server from the last time, Brittany, came by our table to say hi. We really love this place. read more

My go to spot when I go to Jackson. They serve chips and salsa that is good. I like the steak with mashed potatoes and a cactus cornbread stick. The mash is covered in queso that is good. Once cooled, the potatoes get a little pasty, so save some liquid to finish them off. I always leave full. read more

Run...Run... to somewhere else. We waited 40 mins still no meal, we were surprised that on a Saturday night they were dead, now we know why? I've frequented this restaurant for several years. The food is usually good. However, my latest experience thru Waitr was not up to par. I ordered the burger, which is usually excellent. This time it was burned beyond being able to eat it. The cornbread was also burnt. I contacted Waitr, who contacted Coyote Blues. They offered a $2 refund for $20 worth of food. Disappointed is an understatement as they don't seem to care about alienating customers. It's disappointing to no longer have a desire to support a local business. read more

I came to have dinner outside. There was 3+ tables available so I went inside to speak to the hostess. She proceeded to refuse to seat us outside, but offered us a table inside. I let her know we only were seeking outside and she repeated she couldn't seat me outside. No real apology or explanation. Buckle up. This is gong to take a bit. First, I was thrilled to see Coyote Blues reopened in Jackson. I love the concept because it combines two of my favorite food types, Mexican and Cajun. Their first opening in the old Madison's building on Wiley Parker Road was great; not to mention a far better use of that building than the current occupant. Their second opening on Vann Drive was nice, too. When I walked in to this, the third opening, I saw some familiar sites and a few things that were noticeably different. For example, the chips and salsa containers were the same, as were the serving dishes and plates. But, one thing about the atmosphere stood out to me: it was incredibly loud. Not "noisy restaurant" loud, but crowded bar loud. Obnoxiously loud, in fact. I came in on a Friday evening about 645, yet I was seated in less than 5 minutes. The place was clean, and the staff friendly. So far, so good. I was excited to get the chips and salsa because I remembered their green salsa. The server brought out the chips and red salsa - no green salsa. Where is the green salsa?! Well, thankfully, they still have it...for $1 per tiny dish. Shameful. But, I love the stuff, so I ordered it anyway. (Yes, I know that's what the owner was counting on.) I ordered an unsweetened tea to drink, and it came out quickly, but it was so watered down there was no flavor to it. It was barely even tan; it looked more like slightly dirty water. I ordered the Shrimp & Crawfish Chimichanga - my go to order for years at Coyote Blues. The food took quite some time to arrive, but when it did it looked like I remembered. The first bite was nostalgic. But, whomever was responsible for vegetable prep in the kitchen tonight wasn't properly trained. I had very large chunks and pieces of onion throughout the chimichanga. Then, I couldn't help but notice the absence of shrimp and crawfish. Well, not total absence, but a paltry quantity. In fact, I counted fewer than 10 pieces of the two in the whole dish, and these are the smallest, salad-size shrimp and crawfish. Disappointing to be sure. When I had finished, the server came to my table with a handheld payment device and simply announced my total. I asked if I got to see the receipt and was told I could see it after I had paid. The amount sounded close to correct, so I took her word for it. She did bring a receipt by after I'd paid so I was able to confirm I had been properly charged. This is a BAD practice that I hope they change soon. With the issues I noted - noise level, food prep and payment process - I can only give 3-stars. I will be back, and I hope the management will continue to work on improving the newest iteration of a wonderful restaurant. read more

Our food was excellent and the price was good. The service was extremely fast(they asked about dessert before we finished our meals). The only negative was the drinks. My wife ordered a margarita, so I also ordered one since they were 2 for 1 that night. I'd be shocked if it had any alcohol in it. It tasted like cheap sour margarita mix in ice. read more
