Always enjoy my favorite Enchiladas Suizas. Great service also. Thanks Rosalinda for always taking care that our takeout orders are correct. Prices are good too. Truthfully it's the closest taste to "Tex-Mex" for me. . read more

We love Mexican food and we always look for a Mexican food every time we move, which seems to be every five or six years and we tried two other places before this one and we're unsatisfied when we got to La Portalis. We were very happy. The food was great Walk into the restaurant greeted immediately seated we asked to sit in the bar area where the TVs were cocktails were excellent. They have a great array of tequilas my favorite being Don Julio reposado the margarita was good. We had nachos to share chicken and beef mix. it was excellent and be honest that could just be a meal . I always judge a Mexican Mexican restaurant by their enchiladas and their chips and salsa. Both of them passed with high marks my partner she has celiacs so she has to be careful with cheats so she asked for a soft shell taco on corn tortilla with pulled chicken no spices cause she likes bland food, unlike myself and they accommodated her and they did a great job. Bartender was super nice. I also think he may be the manager. We have not been there about four or five times in the past two months and every time has been a great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like Mexican food it's good Tex-Mex it's not from the core of Mexico, but it's good Tex-Mex and that's what we're looking for. read more

We stopped in for a break from some storms while we were driving across the state. The manager(?) was very friendly and helpful in helping us navigate our trip through the storm even to the point where he encouraged us to get going quickly to get through the bad part before it got worse. When service goes beyond just having another customer, that's a huge deal! We ended up only having waters & the chips and salsa before pressing on but they were delicious! Will come back to have a proper meal if I'm ever passing through Jackson again. read more

Food is decent, but pricey. Service is very impersonal and unfriendly. It's usually crowded and too loud.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, the servers are attentive and your food is on the table in an appropriate time. I have always loved this particular Los Portales. Their quality is consistent and the food well seasoned. read more

Great atmosphere, a tab busy though. Great for the family or even a first date. Food was amazing as always

Best Mexican in central Arkansas! Service is always good and the food is consistently great with nice size portions

This place is always a win for me and my family. The food is always yummy and made the way I ask. My last visit here, the waiter was super helpful and gave me a better suggestion for my money. A staff member was even nice enough to let me his wifi hotspot when my stupid phone was being a pain in my rear. I am a big fan, for sure. read more

It's pretty typical you can find a decent mexican restaurant in almost any larger city. This is that place in Jackson. Came here for lunch and while I cannot remember the name of the plate I ordered it was pretty darn tasty. The service was quick and friendly and our server even took our bill for us (typically you take it up the to front and pay up there). I can see why the locals like this place and would recommend giving it a try. read more

Los Portales - Pechuga Especial - Mexican Near Me - Jackson, Tennessee

workers were very nice and our food was brought out within 5 minutes and was really good and hot

Great Mexican food! The queso was delicious and so was the salsa. The camarones blanco were perfect and the guacamole salad that came with it was fresh and tasty! Service was excellent! read more

The queso was absolutely delicious! My chicken was so flavorful and fresh! We live in Murfreesboro, but we were in the area for work. Someone that works with us recommended it to us! It's one of the best Mexican restaurants I've eaten at. They need to open one up in Murfreesboro! read more

I have been a fan of Los Portales for many years. They have authentic Mexican food and it's simply delicious. The service is always friendly and restrooms are clean. So, if you're passing through, this is a must stop! read more

What can I say? Los Portales is the best Mexican food! Great price, great quality, speedy service, great food, excellent customer service! Every time I'm in Jackson I have to stop and eat here! read more

Very good Mexican food for TN. Good variety on the menu and nice atmosphere!

I grew up in Jackson and used to love going to "Los" to eat. This is definitely the best and most popular place in Jackson to have Mexican food! The family who owns it has been so successful that there are now 4 in the small city of Jackson. The cheese dip is the best! Their monster margaritas are awesome and well priced for the size. read more

The last time they'll get my business. The first time I taste the salsa I that I was eating tomato puree no favor. The food is bland and they have a tendency to over cook the food. The bathroom had a roach in it and that's the last time I'll eat there. read more

I remember eating at this Los Portales since I was a wee little one (20+ years). It has been around forever! Even before the Cici's Pizza that resides a few doors down. I've always enjoyed their food and great service. The only downside to this location is that it is a bit run down than rest of them... unless they've given it a face lift in the last 5 years. read more

If you are looking for some good Mexican food this is your place. The service and food was outstanding. I can't wait to go back.

This place is clean inside and looks nice. Don't let the old exterior fool you. The food was decently priced and their beans were awesome. Most Mexican food places have watery runny beans that are used just to cover your plate to make it look full. The cheese dip is phenomenal and they kept the chips coming. They could work a little in hostess customer service by means of when we were sat, they just laid the menus down and kept in walking. Didn't ask of table was fine and we almost followed her into the kitchen before we realized our menus were on a table behind us. The bathrooms are gross but who uses public restrooms anyway? Just don't go in there. They get a four star for not redoing the bathrooms. Otherwise it would be spot on. read more

It was okay, just not spicy enough. I even asked for extra spice fish tacos, because the salsa was pretty much like tomato sauce...didn't seem like I got it. read more

I had the taco salad it was good but it did not have much lettuce inside. Good price good service. Not a fan of the chips and salsa. Clean.

I frequently come to this establishment. Staff very friendly and service is VERY FAST! If I am in a hurry and only have 15-20 to eat lunch I can get in and out in that time frame here. I know as I have done it on multiple occasions. read more

The only thing we had that had any flavor was the Queso Blanco. I order taquitos and all it had in it was shredded flavorless chicken in a corn tortilla that had been deep fried and was tough to chew. I love mexican food but if I had to pick between this or taco bell... id pick taco bell at least I know the food would have some flavor and the service would probably be a little quicker. read more

very disappoint as me and my family dine there frequently. I had a dinner party of about 10 we waited over an hour for our food and when it came it was COLD and then when asked to remake we got attitude more than half our party had problems with their food when going to register to pay we spoke with manager and cashier and they both gave attitude yes we received free marg card but the experience was jus all bad and the to top things off the young lady behind counter was talking crap about us not know we spoke Spanish. will not be returning her for some time....I was highly disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

So we ordered food here tonight to go. Our order included a cheese dip . Before we left we asked if it was in the bag and they said yes. And btw he was rude. We get home and of course it was not and there werent any chips. So my boyfriend called and the guy on the other end was very apologetic and even upped the size. My friend who was already out went by to pick it up and asked for chips and they said that because he already upped the size he was not gonna give us any. So needless to say we will not be back and I will leave comments everywhere and tell everyone not to go here. You're welcome. read more

Always a great place to get good and fairly cheap Mexican food. The beer is cheap and the margaritas are great. I recommend this place to anybody seeking good Mexican food in the Jackson area. read more

w friends from work and yself just attempted to eat at Los Portales yesterday 6-22-11. We waited forever to order, no silverware, no napkins. hHey finally brought our order and it was wrong, plus they had to go and make 1 of the orders all over again. I went ahead and said for my coworkers to start eating, and I would wait. One of my coworkers found a bug in the food as she cut into it. We all got grossed out and got up to return her dish and leave. There was only 1 cashier, who was also the waitress for the entire restaurant which was packed. We stood in line for 15 minutes to just pay for our drinks and let them know that we would not be eating or paying for the food. The waitress became argumentative about how the bug must have flown in there and that it wasn't cooked in there. A woman from the back of the restaurant, possibly the owner (who was not helping the waitress or anyone else, peeked out and said in Spanish "Oh they just want free food". WIll never go back there ever again, unless we are in the mood for poor service and want to eat bugs. read more

I remembered eating Los years ago. i noew live in the heart of the Southwest in Phoenix. I wass expecting to have excellent mexican food in Az..but Los blows Az mexican restaurants away!! Los Portales on Old Hickory Blvd. use to be a great restaurant, but the service and food have gone down hill. I guess the owner no longer cares about this location. The employees are not friendly, the food is not half as good as it use to be. We ate there tonight and ordered a chicken fajita. When we got it the chicken looked like a chicken breast had been torn apart, the chunks were huge and the rice was hard. We were really disappointed. read more

Usually when I go there it has been excellent. Except for the last time on september, 2 2011. I ordered the quasidella grande and they didnt bring the lettuce with it. Plus the meat wasnt searing hot like it usually is. Taste like it was left over and they just microwaved it and put it on my plate. read more

I ordered a to go order and it was wrong. The food was horrible leaving a sour taste in my mouth. This establishment is not like the other Los Portales restaurants I have eaten in other states. If you want good Mexican food in Jackson, This AIN'T IT. read more
