We ate lunch on October 21, 2020. I ordered the Baja 'Tiger' Shrimp Tacos with their excellent Chipotle Crema sauce. My wife ordered the Traditional Chimichanga with shrimp. Both came with rice and refried beans. with tea and coke, the meal total was @$22.00. The meal was GREAT. You order at the counter and they bring the order to you. Non-alcoholic drinks are self service. They do have a bar to order beer. The local COVID rules have been relaxed, but spacing was adequate and (there at lunch time) it appeared masks were worn. The shrimp tacos can be in gringo style, Baja style, Traditional style, Del Fuego style, and Diablo style. All with a slightly different mix if ingredients on the taco with the choice of shrimp, chicken or beef. I consider this the best Mexican style in the area. They have caused the other "Mexican" restaurants to change their menu. The shrimp used is Tiger Shrimp and in marinated in beer. I really like the shrimp. They have Tilapia Fish Tacos and Banana Leaf wrapped Tamales, both also are personal favorites, but I wanted 'Tiger' Shrimp Tacos! Now what makes the food so good is their variety of Salsa. They have 6 different one and if you mix a couple, it makes an even better salsa. I like the Tomatillo salsa, the regular salsa, and the chipotle salsa. Their other ones include hot and super hot salsa are EXTREMELY hot, so I stay away from them. I have seen a pinapple one in the past, but not recently. Any way they do supply chips and with the salsa...the chips are heavenly. I also put salsa on the tacos, and the addition is fabulous. It is worth the visit and it will become you go to Mexican stop. read more

I found this spot on Yelp when I filtered the search out for vegetarian foods and late night. The reviews really helped seal the deal as many of the patrons took their time to describe the quality of the food and the service. I agree wholeheartedly. I was there before closing and despite that I was given time to look over the menu and ask questions. I love that I could select my proteins and starches to build my platter and a good variety of sauces were offered. I wasn't expecting the ambiance of a fast-food "joint" and bar but everything isn't always as it seems so have fun and just go with it. read more

Absolutely yes!!! This is very, very good Tex Mex food and at a great price! Lunch for 4 was around $50!! Food is Served on real plates with real flatware! It has an extensive salsa bar, bottomless soft drinks and tortilla chips. The fajitas are better and more generous than chili's And yay for chicken nuggets and fries on the kids' menu. I'm coming back! Bonus: Coke products!! Drinks come in to-go styrofoam cups. B/c you know we all want one for the road! read more

I go to Tulum in Mexico every year, and I found nothing in this restaurant that was remotely similar to Tulum for starters. It was not what I expected, which isn't their fault. I expected to go in and sit down in a table and be served by a server and this is the type of place for you. Go in order at the counter and then they bring it to him. The food is OK. It wasn't terrible. It wasn't bad. It was just not what I expected from Tulum I may give them a try again at some point if I'm in a hurry, it's more like fast food. read more

Ordering can be a little intimidating given the menu size, but everything we order was absolutely delicious. My wife had the beef tamale, I ordered a carne asada cali burrito, and my daughter ate an order of taquitos. The rice was a little greasy, but had great flavor. I've been to Mexican restaurants all over Jackson, and Tulum is by far my favorite. It's fresh, flavorful, and light. The food isn't TOO heavy, but will definitely leave you full. You can sit wherever and order at the counter. Drinks are self-serve fountain drinks. Someone does bring you your food, but there isn't a waiter. I had a Cancun Bikini Wrap which is vegetarian. They have a lot of vegetarian items on the menu, which I appreciated. You can also easily make a lot of the menu items dairy-free by omitting the cheese. read more

Tulum is one of my top stops when I'm home. This is one of those places where I tell people to get something, and if they don't get what I recommended they usually don't like it.... That being said, you MUST order the fish tacos, with EXTRA secret sauce. The sauce is amazing, I would put it on literally everything and buy it by the gallon if I could. I drown my tacos in this stuff... it's the BEST. Jackson sucks, but this is one of the reasons I come back home to visit my family, don't tell them that though. Really not great. The guy packing my to go food had his mask lowered on his chin (so basically not wearing). He opened to go containers several times asking the cook which order was which. Then food was not very good. Shrimp was ok. Don't risk it. They are not safe and the food is whatever. read more

The cashier was not listening to our pickup order that we placed. We were missing two items & two of our items were made incorrectly. The assistant manager did not even speak to me, he grabbed my incorrect to go box order and headed back to the kitchen. He threw it on the table next to me without saying a word. Never been here before and only came here because we missed a turn and found it. Fantastic food!!!! My husband and I both had the chimichanga (he had the chicken and I had the shrimp). Visited this restaurant yesterday evening. What a surprise. Everything was delicious and fast. In most Mexican restaurants I have visited, I can fill up on chips and salsa way before the meal arrives. Not here. I actually continued the chips and salsa (from a salsa bar stocked with many options) after the food arrived because the salsa was great. As for the food ... fresh, hot, flavorful, and plenty of it. Free refills of soda and salsa/chips, great atmosphere, clean dining areas, and an efficient and friendly staff = great experience. And the price was very fair. Today at lunch my husband ordered a California burrito no guacamole and no pico with cheese sauce. The order took a long time coming out and mine arrived at least 10 minutes before his. My food was perfect but his was completely wrong. He sent it back and less that 5 minutes later a new one comes out. Still wrong. He requested a refund and was told they could not do a cash refund. Always a go to for my family. We eat at Tulum at least once per week and it never disappoints. Plenty of seating both inside and outside.
