We stopped in and the service was very quick. The food was freshly prepared and was soo delicious. The pineapple Agua frescas was the perfect pairing to the burria pizza. read more

I ordered my food and the customer service was great. The cashier at the front, Alexa, was kind and sweet, very helpful. Definitely coming back :) read more

I go to Tulum in Mexico every year, and I found nothing in this restaurant that was remotely similar to Tulum for starters. It was not what I expected, which isn't their fault. I expected to go in and sit down in a table and be served by a server and this is the type of place for you. Go in order at the counter and then they bring it to him. The food is OK. It wasn't terrible. It wasn't bad. It was just not what I expected from Tulum I may give them a try again at some point if I'm in a hurry, it's more like fast food. read more

I found this spot on Yelp when I filtered the search out for vegetarian foods and late night. The reviews really helped seal the deal as many of the patrons took their time to describe the quality of the food and the service. I agree wholeheartedly. I was there before closing and despite that I was given time to look over the menu and ask questions. I love that I could select my proteins and starches to build my platter and a good variety of sauces were offered. I wasn't expecting the ambiance of a fast-food "joint" and bar but everything isn't always as it seems so have fun and just go with it. read more

Absolutely yes!!! This is very, very good Tex Mex food and at a great price! Lunch for 4 was around $50!! Food is Served on real plates with real flatware! It has an extensive salsa bar, bottomless soft drinks and tortilla chips. The fajitas are better and more generous than chili's And yay for chicken nuggets and fries on the kids' menu. I'm coming back! Bonus: Coke products!! Drinks come in to-go styrofoam cups. B/c you know we all want one for the road! read more

Great food and fast service! The Tulum Nachos with the grilled chicken was very fresh and yummy!!

Ordering can be a little intimidating given the menu size, but everything we order was absolutely delicious. My wife had the beef tamale, I ordered a carne asada cali burrito, and my daughter ate an order of taquitos. The rice was a little greasy, but had great flavor. The salsa bar and chips was a great perk! Definitely give it a try if you're in town. read more

A self serve place. Great lunch not so sure for a dinner choice. Fish taco was good and cold beer!

I really like the corn at this location. Sometimes I get the horchata too, but I'm the corn guy. The servers are usually pretty nice, and the location is great with a crumbl next door if you don't want their key lime pie (which I also really like) read more

I've been to Mexican restaurants all over Jackson, and Tulum is by far my favorite. It's fresh, flavorful, and light. The food isn't TOO heavy, but will definitely leave you full. You can sit wherever and order at the counter. Drinks are self-serve fountain drinks. Someone does bring you your food, but there isn't a waiter. I had a Cancun Bikini Wrap which is vegetarian. They have a lot of vegetarian items on the menu, which I appreciated. You can also easily make a lot of the menu items dairy-free by omitting the cheese. read more

Tulum is one of my top stops when I'm home. This is one of those places where I tell people to get something, and if they don't get what I recommended they usually don't like it.... That being said, you MUST order the fish tacos, with EXTRA secret sauce. The sauce is amazing, I would put it on literally everything and buy it by the gallon if I could. I drown my tacos in this stuff... it's the BEST. Jackson sucks, but this is one of the reasons I come back home to visit my family, don't tell them that though. Don't go here and not get the fish tacos, just saying.... read more

Always good service, great food and budget friendly. Definitely our go-to when In Jackson, Tn.

We ate lunch on October 21, 2020. I ordered the Baja 'Tiger' Shrimp Tacos with their excellent Chipotle Crema sauce. My wife ordered the Traditional Chimichanga with shrimp. Both came with rice and refried beans. with tea and coke, the meal total was @$22.00. The meal was GREAT. You order at the counter and they bring the order to you. Non-alcoholic drinks are self service. They do have a bar to order beer. The local COVID rules have been relaxed, but spacing was adequate and (there at lunch time) it appeared masks were worn. The shrimp tacos can be in gringo style, Baja style, Traditional style, Del Fuego style, and Diablo style. All with a slightly different mix if ingredients on the taco with the choice of shrimp, chicken or beef. I consider this the best Mexican style in the area. They have caused the other "Mexican" restaurants to change their menu. The shrimp used is Tiger Shrimp and in marinated in beer. I really like the shrimp. They have Tilapia Fish Tacos and Banana Leaf wrapped Tamales, both also are personal favorites, but I wanted 'Tiger' Shrimp Tacos! Now what makes the food so good is their variety of Salsa. They have 6 different one and if you mix a couple, it makes an even better salsa. I like the Tomatillo salsa, the regular salsa, and the chipotle salsa. Their other ones include hot and super hot salsa are EXTREMELY hot, so I stay away from them. I have seen a pinapple one in the past, but not recently. Any way they do supply chips and with the salsa...the chips are heavenly. I also put salsa on the tacos, and the addition is fabulous. It is worth the visit and it will become you go to Mexican stop. read more

Really not great. The guy packing my to go food had his mask lowered on his chin (so basically not wearing). He opened to go containers several times asking the cook which order was which. Then food was not very good. Shrimp was ok. Don't risk it. They are not safe and the food is whatever. read more

Freshest Mexican in Jackson! Employees are attentive and food is always delicious. Love the patio seating during pleasant weather, too!

Great food, great service, great prices! A trifecta of perfection. We had the Fish Tacos and California Burrito

I love tulum. It's always my first pick even though my husband has got tired of it I love the fish tacos, steak fries, and los borrachos. It's always a hit! read more

Tulum has fairly decent service, but the food has been mediocre at best every time I've been. The only reason I ever go now is when a friend wants it. read more

This was our first trip to the Union University restaurant. We definitely miss the Carriage House atmosphere! Food came out quick. Was good -- we look forward to eating here when we have to travel through Jackson! read more

The cashier was not listening to our pickup order that we placed. We were missing two items & two of our items were made incorrectly. The assistant manager did not even speak to me, he grabbed my incorrect to go box order and headed back to the kitchen. He threw it on the table next to me without saying a word. This order was for a nursing unit so I had to return and apologize to the tired nurses for their now cold food. read more

Never been here before and only came here because we missed a turn and found it. Fantastic food!!!! My husband and I both had the chimichanga (he had the chicken and I had the shrimp). Really, really good. Very fresh and the price was great too. We were hoping there was one of these back home (we are just in town for a ball tournament) but unfortunately not. Any time, y'all plan on expanding, feel free to come to the Smyrna/Murfreesboro area. We would love this!! read more

Run in for a quick lunch in Jackson last week with my team. Great little quick Mexican place and the price was right. Would have liked to see more bowl options beyond the salads. Food quality was solid. read more

I had visited the original site on Carriage House years ago and was sadly disappointed in the lack of flavor of the food, as well as the fact that many of the items that should have been IN the burrito, were served along side. Based on a co-workers suggestion, I decided to try the food at their new location. I was thoroughly unimpressed. I thought Los Portapotties had cornered the market on Mexican food that had been bastardized/Americanized to cater to the white/southern market, but I was mistaken. The "refried" beans were soupy, and the "Mexican" rice was bland. The tomatillo salsa appeared to have been made from canned tomatillos, given the pale color and watery consistency/taste. The "picante" salsa also had a weird, off taste to it. The carne asada was ok, but had an overwhelming lime flavor to it. Even my meal partner, who is allergic to peppers, and has a very basic list of what he will eat and won't, had a basic chicken burrito, which he stated was bland. I surely won't be returning, nor can I, in good conscience recommend this restaurant (nor the original). read more

I ordered some take out from the Tulum on Union U Drive a few months ago it was a very nice experience and the food was very good . I'd like to go back and try the other items on the menu but I won't go back to the one on Carriage House Ever. read more

One of the worst places to eat. Horrible service and terrible food. Please do not go there.

My favorite mexican place in Jackson. It's light and fresh tasting. Justin and Diego are also awesome employees! :)

This is a place to get a good meal (not great) pretty cheap! I can take my family of 5 and eat for around 25 bucks! Fish tacos are good (sometimes the fish tastes a little dirty) The green salsa is fantastic!! Don't listen to Dave below... read more

Visited this restaurant yesterday evening. What a surprise. Everything was delicious and fast. In most Mexican restaurants I have visited, I can fill up on chips and salsa way before the meal arrives. Not here. I actually continued the chips and salsa (from a salsa bar stocked with many options) after the food arrived because the salsa was great. As for the food ... fresh, hot, flavorful, and plenty of it. Free refills of soda and salsa/chips, great atmosphere, clean dining areas, and an efficient and friendly staff = great experience. And the price was very fair. Great pick for good Mexican food. read more

Fresh tasty food in a convenient friendly atmosphere, the fish tacos melt in your mouth

Today at lunch my husband ordered a California burrito no guacamole and no pico with cheese sauce. The order took a long time coming out and mine arrived at least 10 minutes before his. My food was perfect but his was completely wrong. He sent it back and less that 5 minutes later a new one comes out. Still wrong. He requested a refund and was told they could not do a cash refund. Just very disappointed with this visit. read more

Excellent fresh Mexican. Served hot and fresh. Guacamole is fantastic. Clean and friendly.

Always a go to for my family. We eat at Tulum at least once per week and it never disappoints. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. I always recommend Tulum for family and friends visiting from out-of-town for something different than the typical Mexican restaurant. Always fresh ingredients and food that tastes great! read more
