The restaurant had a steady flow of customers and was clean. I couldn't eat my entire order of food in one sitting, so I'll have the rest for dinner. You definitely pay for the amount of food that you receive. The chocolate cake couldn't have a lot more attention paid to it, but it was alright. Was really excited to try to this place! Sadly very disappointed. Food was dry no real flavor cole slaw was dry. Only reason I'm giving such a low score is because we found a metal grill brush bristle in the food. In the kids meal as a matter of fact. So be cautious. Well I finally found this place after accidentally getting into the restaurant across the parking lot by accident. Well let me tell you I wish I would have gone back to that restaurant because the food that I got here was kind of and Bland. I got the combo meat ribs and brisket which it was chopped brisket and I have known that I would not have gotten that and the ribs were dry kind of like it had that hard crust on top like beef jerky and that's it. The coleslaw it's like somebody minced the cabbage and put some of the juice in there it was kind of dry and the corn was just like out of a can. I'm sorry it's one of those sayings "I wish it would have been better I really wanted to like this place" Some positives I can't say is it is well lit, and there are large containers of unsweet tea sweet tea and lemonade to be had,. The total for these was under fourteen dollars. The food came out and they called me up. Let me start by saying that this chicken was small, seriously small. For my sides, I went with baked beans and potato salad. Both were somewhat bland, however my chicken (small as it was) was not bad. Service was a bit lackluster, though not terrible. There is a wonder elderly lady that clears the tables and really was the highlight of our stay. Her smile and sweet demeanor is infectious and she really does a great job of keeping the place clean. I have ordered takeout numerous time with great results, but I try to review eat-in services. on August 25, 2020 at 12:45pm, we sat in at the restaurant. Seating is the same with appropriate spacing. The restaurant was well cleaned and lots of safety steps taken. We both ordered the stuffed baked potato with BBQ chicken. My wife got it with cheese and BBQ sauce, and I ordered chicken with everything (onions, sour cream, etc). Their BBQ sauce is not just Vinegar based, but it is ketchup based with all the ingredients that make it a sauce. It is interesting and good. It is thicker than most. The stuffed potatoes were great. They were huge. They were well cooked. The chicken was slightly smoked and moist. The cheese had melted in the hot potato. It was an ample serving. In my opinion, it is the best in Jackson, and one of the only BBQ restaurants open on Sunday. They also have great deserts (Pies cakes and sometimes cobbler), but as always, I am too full to get one. They sell whole pies as well and have one of the better chess pies in the area. A reminder, there is no Sunday buffet sue to COVID-19, and the sandwich dressing bar has been removed. They do not have the discounts and are still at 50% seating. Its worth the time to sit in. Their takeout and drive through are very busy. read more

My routine when I visit a new place and possibly a place I'll not be able to return to is to try as many of the meats as I can. On this trip I ordered ribs, pork and my favorite sausage. Added potato salad and baked beans as normal and had banana pudding to finish. Obviously too much food to eat. The ribs were overcooked. Taste was ok, not horrible but nothing that jumps out at you. I ate one bone, knew I had more food to eat and stopped at that one bone. The pulled pork was again nothing very special and way too much sauce on it. That's their thing and the sauce ends up overpowering everything else. Ended up eating about half and I think I forced myself to do that. The sausage, I liked. I liked it a lot. Without question the best of the three meats. I liked it enough to finish all of it. The baked beans and potato salad, I'd rate as average.
