If you commute from Davis to the Bay Area, I definitely recommend using Amtrak's Capital Corridor…read moreover driving. It is far less stressful, and, with a monthly pass, much cheaper. The trains are clean, and the conductors friendly, and it usually goes off without a hitch. Occasionally, there are delays (such as when the Benicia Bridge is up to allow maritime traffic to pass, or infrequent mishaps). When they do occur, communication could be better, but that would be my only complaint. You can bring your bike or scooter aboard (most cars have three spaces, plus there is one that holds 13. In the early morning, the bike/luggage car is also the quiet car, and usually kept dark as well. In the afternoon, if you do not need to go past Sacramento, avoid #538, as it gets very full (often no bike racks or seats are open). The #536 and #540 have plenty of room and run within half an hour. As for the actual station, it's too bad that there is a fair amount of trash and vandalism, because it's a cute historic building. Staff are wonderful. One of them was very helpful when there was a cancelled train, I was able to get onto a Starliner with existing ticket.

It had been more than 5 years since Ive taken the Capitol Corridor. It is still a very pleasant,…read morerelaxing ride with beautiful scenery ince you get out the the city limits. The train personnel are very Nice and accommodating! Snack car has the essentials, coffee, food and alcohol! This was my grandchildrens 1st train ride, too bad there was nothing available to remember it. Asked the conductor and others but they had nothing. Never the less I would definitely recommend if you need some relaxation (after commuter times) I took the train from Hayward to Sscramento.

Go UC Davis for offering such a convenient service to students and citizens of Davis, CA. They…read moreoffer approximately 22 different bus lines that go throughout all of the major hotspots and student living areas in Davis! Most routes run 4x an hour with some running twice an hour! How convenient! All of the Unitrans drivers I have had the pleasure of interacting with have been helpful, friendly, and offered a comfortable ride! Keep in mind these drivers are students who are drowning in midterms, extracurricular, internships, and 15+ hours of work per week to get you where you want to go. Show your drivers some kindness and appreciation! Unitrans drivers are the most considerate transit drivers I've ever seen! If they see you running for the bus, they will wait for you, and they will do whatever they can to get you home as quickly and comfortably as possible! DOUBLE DECKER BUSSES: Unitrans offers a unique experience of getting to ride a vintage double decker RT imported from London, England in the 60s! This is truly a unique experience as these buses don't even run in London anymore! Check out the top deck! It's pretty cool!

I'm giving this a 2 star because I've lived in Davis all my life (25 years) I've been taking…read moreUnitrans since I was about 12 years old. Reason to why I give them a 2 stars is because of their lack of communication between driver and person attending the bus. I take the bus P almost every morning and the bus driver never greets me, I've seen them roll their eyes, some say "okay" or nod their head. Before COVID the bus drivers were super excited to be the drivers and their communication was on point. Also, some Sac City Student cards are "not valid" which online they are valid. Please update this on every bus line. Please teach your staff to be more active and friendly!
