Very tight sites with few good sites, but they are rarely available. Park feels run down. Beautiful surroundings at the base of Lake Berryessa Along Putah Creek. Good for boaters because you can park your boat trailers there. Rude woman behind the desk at check in. Had a broken sprinkler head next to our site. Had to report it for somebody to turn it off. Zero cell service. Hotter than hell. Close to lovely small town of Winters which has restaurants, breweries, and wine tasting. It's on the road to Napa if you want to go west. Maybe 25-30 miles away. (Twisty roads). Trout fishing on Putah Creek. Catch and release only. read more

We camped at Canyon Creek for a relaxing little getaway. The setting was peaceful, and the small on-site store was a nice surprise -- we even found these fun, colorful drinks that added a fun vibe One thing to note: we were only allowed to choose from lots in sections A or B. Section C seemed to have the nicest spots including one really close to the water so we were a little disappointed we couldn't book there. The hot tub was out of service during our stay, which was a letdown since it was part of why we booked. The pool was a nice alternative, though it could use a debris catcher to stay cleaner. Wi-Fi worked for basic browsing, but not for streaming. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and would go back just better prepared next time and hoping for a little more flexibility in site selection. read more

This was a difficult time. The short version: - Muddy site without sufficient stone to get level - Small site, where we had to step into adjoining sites to get set up and our truck didn't quite fit inside the site boundary - 30 amp electric that appeared to have burn marks - Tight roads to get through park - Very dark and difficult to see - This is a corporate - remote run facility and it shows We booked a site by phone and were told to see the security guard upon arrival for check in details. I explained that we would be arriving late and would need an easy setup. The "stop" to check in is across Highway 128 from the office. Upon check in, we are told to choose a site and the security guard would come around to see which one we chose in a little while. We selected the site that appeared to be the most level and it turned out to be a mud pit where we were unable to get level. Each time I thought we had it, the ground would sink below one of the jacks and we were off kilter again. There was some small stone laid over the soil, but there was not enough to keep us from sinking. After about 30 minutes of trying to get set up and flopping around like a pig in the mud, I asked the security guard for a refund and told her we were not going to stay. We were offered the opportunity to try a different site, but I had already walked around and seen where the longer stay guests had pushed their personal effects into adjacent "open" sites, so it was pretty unrealistic. We declined this offer and I was directed to the management for that refund. In the end, we were told we would receive 1/2 in return, but it seems less than reasonable given we were unable to stay and had to stay and pay somewhere else. I'm sure this place is good for those who arrive when it's dry, want to take advantage of the creek access, and do not have campers that require a decent amount of space (without looking in the window of your neighbor). It is rare for me to offer negative feedback, but this particular location could use a lot of infrastructure work and still wants to charge a premium price. read more

We've been coming to this place for over a decade. Everything is in disrepair or broken for several months. The spot we pulled into had a melted electrical plug. So we plugged into the one next to that. Within two days that plug breaker failed because it was so old. We left a day early. This place is managed terribly. The only person that has been consistent and does a really great job is the maid that has been working there forever . Located about 35 minutes from Lake Berryessa Recreation Area on the Putah Creek. Sites with full hookup are across the Hiway from the creek whereas sites with only water and electricity are creekside. Fair amount of shade available at the RV sites and they have a couple of cabins and a yurt available as well to rent. There's pool facilities but unfortunately there currently isn't a snack shack or store to get incidentals. Quiet and easily accessible. read more

Spent the weekend at Canyon Creek Resort in Winters, returned after 15 years! Pool area was great( family pool), but the adult only pool was in need of water maintenance and cleaning.There is no cell service and no Wi-Fi service( they do sell wi fi access for $12 a day which I thought was a little high!)Thete are no hook ups for sewer, but they do have a dump site on premises if you can make it that long, they do offer a honey truck a couple of times a week for $25 . Try to get a site away from the road because it is used 24 hours a day and gets a little noisy'!! Nice hiking trails along the creek, did come across a rattlesnake inside the camping area!! I personally think the resort needs some maintenance, clubhouse game room was half out of order---looks like they had a cafe at one time which would be a nice amenity. It's a little too rustic for the average person who needs to stay in touch with the world via cell and Wi-Fi.........not sure if I could even call 911 and you are in the middle of the woods! I wish them the best because the people were very friendly and the place has so much potential! read more

After paying $4000 dollars for a 5 year membership. I was expected to pay camping fee only each night I stayed at the campground. That was great! On the beginning of the second year I was e-mailed a bill asking for quarterly payments. I brought this matter to my sales person Valerie Rolih. Valerie stated to me that this was a mistake and she would make sure this never happened again! Year 3, I get the same bill for quarterly payments. I asked the manager at Canyon creek for this to be reconciled. Valerie is no longer there. The manager tells me that Valerie paid my fees the prior year due to me not understanding. Now I have been banned from the campground due to non payment. If anyone knows Valerie Rolih please have her settle this matter. I enjoyed the campground for the most part. Year 2 it was neglected. I hope someone can help find Val. I am sure she can fix this. Her word means allot to me. read more

Looking for a decent place at Lake Berryessa and chose Canyon Creek. I lucked out with this choice because the price point was very good and the accommodations worked out well for my needs. First of all, communication was excellent via email and over the phone. Their website has most of the information relative to the resort, however, you'll need to ask questions if you have specific needs and/or expectations, such as is their a BBQ and will I need to supply my own propane, or is their a full kitchen and will I need utensils? In any event, for the cottage, it included pretty much everything including utensils. The BBQ needed a little love but I brought my portable. Water pressure in the shower wasn't great but it wasn't a necessity. There were ceiling fans, great lighting, very comfortable sleeping arrangements and the full size fridge was excellent. The porch was very nice. An incredible view of the Monticello Dam was amazing as well. Great conversation with the staff when checking in. They even have breakfast at the lodge, a pool and a hot tub. My family has been members since 2020. We became members mainly because it is a members only resort and also $5.00 a night. It was a win win for my family. Until now! The owners are horrible! They are slumlords. They consistently collect our quarterly dues for "maintenance " when there is absolutely no maintenance or up keep at the resort. The owners have now made the resort open to the public to non members and are raising the nightly fee to $10! They have breeched our contract as well as all of the members . They are advertising on air bnb, hotels.com, Expedia ect.... Pending lawsuit! The staff is great and I feel bad that they work for these people. read more

Private campground about 15 minutes west on HWY128 towards Lake Berryessa. Great selection of trailer sites to choose from as well as cottages and a yurt. They are considering adding more yurts. No cell phone service! No big, you can connect 2 devices to internet with voucher for free! There is some road noise and if you are near the bridge there is noise as cars & trucks with boats cross the bridge. If you don't already have a noise machine for your trailer, get one! There's a dump site on each side of the campground. You can schedule a honey pot, for a fee, on Sundays. Swimming pool and hot tube on site, open seasonally May thru September. Small cafe that offers breakfast and lunch items and snacks. Store has beer, wine, ice and a small selections of items necessary for camping. There are 2 lodges, an adult lodge with a pool table & foos ball and a family lodge. What to do?! Chill, duh!!!! Trout fishing in the Putah Creek that runs thru the campground on the lower side. Catch & release, no barb hooks allowed. Cook something that smells so good everyone is coming to your site to check it out! Sit by the creek and meditate or drink beer/wine! Downtown Winters - beer & wine tasting at the same site! Visit a cafe that was on DDD! Restaurants & parks oh my! Grocery store for the stuff you forgot. About 15 minutes from campground. Lake Berryessa! Cache Creek Casino & Resort - great restaurants, spa, events, & gambling! Wine tasting & olive oil tasting. About 35 minutes from campground. Free WIFI for web surfing, streaming videos etc. available at an additional cost. The free WIFI was sufficient for remote work as long as you don't need high bandwidth. Yes, private members only campground, but they do offer a 2-night stay for attending a 90 minute presentation. Is it worth the 90 minutes presentation? If you have a new trailer, they have a "blue ribbon" service that will help you set-up your trailer. This is great! Plan to do a lot of camping within California? Across the U.S? Canada? Beautiful place, for non members they don't take care as much, ie....grass is brown, but green on members side. Wifi is really expensive. We camp alot and never pay for wifi. Hookups should include that. Should not be first come first serve, u should be able to pick spot when reserving. But other than that, I love winters!! read more

This place has gone to the dogs!!! Gone are the fun filled family days filled with friendly staff and reliable rates. We have been members here for over 15 years and in the past few years they have run this place into the ground! The weekend DJ& Karaoke is gone, the store was closed, Val is gone and they seem to just RACK IP whatever charges to he members they want now! For instance cabins are $25 for members well now, they're $65 plus $150 deposit?! Like what?! We've never had to pay this? Yes, supposedly you " get the deposit back " a day after you leave but that's a lot to factor in. Also. Now, apparently the grounds are open for the general public!!! So what was the point of having a members only resort ( if you want to call it that) if ANYONE can come in?! Also, the place needs MAJOR upgrades and work. Heck even working games in the GAME ROOM would be good. With the amount members are paying you'd think they'd not be so cheap and hire professionals to get the pests under control you can't even enjoy the pool with out being harassed by the swarms of YELLOWJACKETS that are there! I got stung while trying to relax by the pool. So if you're planning of going definitely bring wasp spray! Seriously Yall get it together! I really miss Val & crew. read more

When I called to get a refund, Val told me to put it in writing, which I did in March...it is now mid-August and she is avoiding me. If you are looking at becoming a member buyer beware. Positives: close to Lake Berryessa, Winters, Sacramento and Vacaville. Negatives: Highway 128 runs through the park in two locations. Car and motorcycle cycle clubs use this highway for outings so be ready for loud wake-up call. Out dated park with very tight spaces. Had a family in the next spot to us sleeping in a tent under our slide out. No cell service. Internet is expensive and most of the time didn't work. After you purchase a membership you are no longer important to them unless you can bring them referrals. They keep selling memberships even though they are out of room on busy weekends. read more

Billing office has some very serious issues IMO. After weeks of billing errors and after a recent camping trip to the sister site Delta Shores (which I loved but no water or electric provided and still had to pay $8.00/ night tent camping fee), I was invoiced $1.00 - yes you read that correct as $1.00 - for an "Annual Pass for 20 nights per year" that they stated I purchased! I did NOT purchase it, especially since I have a lifetime membership already which would override that. When I questioned it, they said to disregard due to a system error!! Well, the email was very specific, and so was the invoice. Also, they are allegedly open to the public and not selling memberships any longer. That does not help matters if members want to "transfer" or "sell" their membership. Who would buy with such conditions of camp and administration? Every time I go there, things have changed for the worse! Look elsewhere for a good camping experience! read more

Avoid the crab feed. $80 per person. They encourage you to fill up on spaghetti. The shrimp had ice crystals on it. The crab was really cold also. Definitely not worth $80. We purchased 5 tickets (spent $400) expecting something a bit better. At this price we could have had a nice dinner in Winters at the Buckhorn. Not sure if this crab feed was a fundraiser but all of my guests and I were really, really disappointed! I was also disappointed as my friends came to visit and I paid for their campsites. When they toured facility I was not credited the $120 for the 3 nights. They also put the all crab feeds on my credit card without my permission which really upset me. When my friend added the 5th person they added that to my credit card. Not cool at all. Campground is pretty in the spring but there is no cable or internet. In the summer it is really hot. Why are they saying it is a private resort when anyone can stay for $125 a night? read more

The only redeeming thing at this dead grass, dustbowl, gravel pit is the swimming pools and the creek while the bad things are numerous. There's NO CELL SERVICE, (& despite what other reviewers say) THERE'S NO FREE WIFI unless they're courting you to buy here. So if you need to text someone that you arrived. Do it back in Winters or drop $8 instantly per device (see pic for pricing) which is ironic as the salesperson tried to sell us by saying they don't nickel & dime you here like a KOA.. I guess that's true they get dollars... lots of them just off WiFi. The facilities are dated, in poor condition, and not kept cool enough to use. The store has practically nothing in stock & the food prepared there is gross. But no worries it's hardly ever open despite all the road signage trying to lure people in to find it closed. We made 2 attempts to shop there, the first time it was closed early (see pic) the 2nd time we dropped about $60 for 2 pizzas that took 2 hours to make and I had to bake them more in the RV because while the edges were baked the center was raw. Whoever owns/manages this place has no idea what they're doing in what should be a Hospitality focused business. if you want to be a RESORT be a resort, Canyon Creek is NOT AN RV RESORT. Never have I seen such a large labor force at an RV park. Sounds good right? You'd think so, but there's so many people running around on golf carts while somehow nothing is open. In fact, they aren't even open the limited hours they say they will be. Today (Aug 4, 2022), I had a balance to pay after going through the sales presentation (can't understand who'd buy this for $4k plus $75 a month for 5 years simple math is over $140 a month over 5 years to have a chance to stay here for $5 a night plus WiFi costs- great deal?) the sales person told me the check in desk closed at 4:00 (dear owner.. that's too early) but I was there at 3:45 and it was closed. I then went back to my RV got my kids and walked to the deli/store which we were told was open Thurs-Sat only and there was a note... closed early due to lack of business (see pic) So we went to the arcade (a couple of machines from the 90s doesn't equate to an arcade) not air conditioned.... Too hot to stay in the room! Meanwhile there's 3 rigs in the parking lot trying to figure out how to check in. This tells me whomever is running this place doesn't get the hospitality industry at all. Then add to that, the poor maintenance of everything while they invest in building a yurt??? (Side note: there's a pic on Yelp from 2018 saying they're building yurts... it's 2022 and it's in it's still unfinished state...Yet the Sales people lie and say they're building more?) Ultimately it's pretty clear, they have no intention on improving the campers' experience or they'd invest in stuff that does that and not try to build yurts! A good example? They have fliers about managing your power use to not trip breakers, (I still tripped my 50amp because I dared to microwave something while running 2 ACs in 95 degree weather) which just demonstrate they don't care about your experience here, they're just focused on selling to suckers who will pay them $75 a month plus a $4k cash infusion that must go to ongoing unproductive labor costs. This place is a scam and it's a shame because it has a ton of potential. I know under good leadership and with an investment (or actually using the money people give you for capital improvements) this place could a top tier RV resort. It's truly disappointing as I need to stay at a place near here about 10 days a month ... STAY AWAY!!! read more

If things have changed with the reservations system a letter would of been appreciated! We have been members since 2020. I love our stays here. We like to come closer to off season or just before summer hits full swing. We appreciate the quiet times with the park fairly empty. Val has become a dear friend and Aileen is so personable. Dena is fabulous making sure there are fun things to do for adults and kids. I love being here during football season and hanging out in the lodge to watch the 49ers play. The grounds are kept clean of stickers (we have 4 dogs) and this is important to us. I only wish the bathrooms could be updated, but we have been told that they will be working on that in September. Don't get me wrong, they are kept clean, they just need updating. read more

We have been members here since 2007. Then- Beautiful green well manicured lawns. Grounds were always well kept and clean. Now- Only dead and dry fox tails and weeds for your dogs to enjoy. Grounds are disappointing, dying trees, cobwebs covering fencing and buildings. Then- 24 hour patrol by security. Now- We were there for a 10 night stay recently and never saw security patrol. Then- Organized games and activities for children and adults, live music and or buffets on holidays at little or no charge. Now- No list of activities when checking in and if there is live music or buffets, prices are ridiculous. Then- Members were treated like owners (this is a timeshare of sorts), staff and management were always friendly and their goal was to make it enjoyable for members. I bought a membership a in 2021 when I purchased my RV and the dealer recommended checking the place out. I bought the 5 year membership as my husband and I are elderly and this is something my kids do not want to inherit. I don't know what has happened to Canyon Creek but it has gone downhill fast in the last 2 years. The lady at the front desk. I swear she hates her job. She is so rude and how she keeps her job I don't know. She starts talking to people behind you and does not tell you she is finished dealing with you. She tells you the honey bucket comes on Friday and on Friday when you offer to pay she yells at you that it is Friday and it comes on Thursday, and the last time she checked today is Friday. The last time I came she was very rude also. The beach. When we toured they told us there is a trail and it goes to a little beach area. Well it is now very overgrown and there are no signs that say you cannot enter the area. In fact, even the check-in lady did not mention that access to the beach was not allowed. Common sense would tell you to put up a sign and let people know this since people who bought 1-2 years ago or prior used to go here. Is it because of snakes on the trail or what? We did check it out but do not recommend it as the trail it not maintained at all anymore. The restrooms are horrible. When we went to the pool, and used the restroom by the pool, some guy was urinating on the men's restroom door stating the inside was covered in feces everywhere. The women's restroom was filthy also, but not like that. When I told the guy working in the restaurant that they needed someone to clean them he did not seem too concerned about it. The adult pool was not a beautiful blue but a lovely shade of blueish green. Too many people drinking and too lazy to use the restroom I guess. Cell phone - no cell phone service at all. The one you pay for does not work. If you have a medical emergency after hours you are in trouble as I never saw anyone at the guard shack after hours. They may be doing rounds but if a motor home catches fire or someone has a heart attack it would be very scary. Fees - the honeybucket doubled in 2 years and tripled if you have a large RV. If you bring a guest who is in a trailer but does not want to do the tour, the fee went from $40 a night to $65 a night. Dogs - I love dogs. But so many guests do not keep them on leashes. They need to enforce leash laws at this park before some person or dog gets injured. The cabins are outdated. When we had a friend stay in one the a/c did not work and it was soooo hot out. They say this is a membership only park yet you can now stay here for $125 a night without a membership apparently. This park does have potential and the creek is beautiful. Many of the campers are very nice; and Val and Jenn are fantastic. I hope things change for the better because if they don't I don't see how they will make it without someone else taking over. read more

It's a beautiful place to take a break at Canyon Creek. Beautiful sceneries, lots of amenities. Great and friendly staff. The only problem you get is not having access to TV channels and internet. You have to keep renewing your subscription for wifi which you buy from Canyon Creek. You can't use their wifi for streaming anything. Best thing to do is go to Redbox and rent some DVDs or bring your MP3 player. Other thank that, everything is beautiful. read more

WOULD RECOMMEND 100% I went on a birthday ride alone and I ended up getting into a small accident near the resort. I had no service, the bike wouldn't start and it was stuck in gear! I went down and the security/manager helped me a lot. They helped me get in contact with a towing company that wanted to charge me 600$ for a 30 minute tow. Jeff offered to tow the bike using his PERSONAL truck and keep it in the resort until I am able to pick it up with a u haul. With the help of Jeff and his friends they got the bike running and I was able to ride back home. They did all of this for a random stranger!! THANK YOU SO MUCH JEFF AND EVERYONE WHO HELPED! We only spent on night at this camp resort, but it was a pretty awesome experience. We did tent camping right next to the water, so we were able to hear the stream rolling all night long. It was one of the most comforting things ever. Also saw a few people taking kayaks up and down the stream, which definitely made us think they were gonna bring our kayaks. Next time we go. I also have a small restaurant there, which is really not anything fancy, but they do cook pizzas that are pretty decent out on the wood fire stove out side the restaurant. Along with having a couple pool tables, 2 pools (one for adults and one for kids), they also have a Jacuzzi as well. This is a really chill place where most everyone is really cool. My friends and I came here for a quick little weekend get away. Besides it being stupid hot, which has nothing to do with anything about this place, but still, it was great. The staff was super friendly and said hello every time I saw them, the pools were nice (they even have an adults only pool), the store/restaurant were decent, it wasn't too big or crowded, no one was loud at night, and the cabin was perfect. Not like a remodeled glamorous cabin, but it was clean, had a stocked kitchen, a decent shower, and a working private toilet, and wonderful A/C.
