I was able to come here in the middle of the week around noon. The GPS made this place easy to find. There is plenty of parking here at pena adobe park and lagoon valley park. The hike is located at lagoon valley park, so don't mix those up. You do have to pay $5 for parking, and the machine kiosk was broken when I went, but you can still pay through the park mobile app, which is what I did. The hike is listed as moderate, but felt borderline difficult to me (maybe I'm just out of shape). There is a lot of up hill when you first start, and because there wasn't a lot of shade combined with me going on the hottest day of the week (low 80 degrees), it did make it feel more difficult. After I parked, I was a bit confused on where to go so had to ask someone finishing up their hike for the direction. I was instructed to go up the main trail past the gate for the main trail to the lighthouse at the top. There are lots of trails here, but the one to the top of the hill is the most popular, and probably the most difficult). Once you park in the lot by the lake/pond, you cross the road to the grassy side and follow that trail to the gate that keeps the cows inside. There is another easier hike/walk your can take around the lake/pond, which is mostly flat. The views on this hike are great. Despite it being a little warmer, the breeze helped a lot. I liked the views and made it to the top after about 1 and a half hours. In total, it took me about 2 hours to finish the hike. And that's with a 20 minute break halfway going uphill. Going downhill is a lot faster. I'll be back for one of the other trails and how to bring family and friends to join.

I was in site 27 which was longer than it looked on the map or in the photos. I could see the creek from there. I'm not sure there is a bad site there...some had more shade, depends what you like. There are levels...I don't think you can see the water from the upper campsites, but more sun and partially sunny sites up there When alerted to a broken and stuck branch that could have been a problem, the rangers had it taken care of within half an hour or so. Staff was friendly and drove through regularly. The peacocks were fun... fearless, too, so we got a good look at those gorgeous birds. Quail, woodpeckers, a variety of birds. A great place for naps.

Meadows, fir trees, boulders, and ponds! We made it to the Falls on the last day of April. I would think that during the summer they wouldn't be flowing as greatly as they were now. No signs telling you where trail is so I'm here to tell you…read more Park across the street from Pacific Union College at the far left end ball park. Walk heading North from the parking lot towards the green sign that reads bike route. You will follow that trail all the way down to the trailhead about a 1/4 mile in from the road. Once you get to the trail head you have two trails to choose from: the Linda Falls Trail or the Saw Mill Ridge Trail. We opted for the Linda Falls trail which is a 1.6 miles round trip. You will walk down a rocky path , then through a forest of trees. The trail will start to go downhill then becomes steeper as you head toward the waterfall. Going do the steep hill is where the gravel is loose and slippery. Once you get to the falls you will need to climb around the boulders to get those winning photos your friends and family will love to see on social media media. My suggestion is that you wear good trail running shoes or running shoes with good grip to the gravel as the trail can be slippery from the loose gravel. Please do not wear sandals or slippahs. Please leave your tiny dogs home unless you want to carry them over the rocks when you get closer to the waterfall. Last tip- bring water and snack to enjoy when you get to the falls. Make sure you take your trash with you. If you still have energy to go to the next trail saw Mill Ridge then head back to the trailhead you first started at. We started to head down and made it half way down until my hubby said let's turn around. I think it was his way of saying "I'm really hungry and I need to eat soon before I get hanger." Haha We plan to go back again to finish the Saw Mill Ridge Hike. This trail does have two small creeks you need to cross over. Have fun, stay on the trail , and be safe. Enjoy the pics

But if you wanna play where you can walk around and explore wildlife this is a great place to do it. Early in the morning, when it's nice and cool, it's not unusual to see people out with binoculars.
