We made a quick stop here so that I could do some birding while on a roadtrip through the area. What a great park! There is a great trail around the lake where you can view many waterbirds. Trees and bushes hide smaller birds and provide shade in spots. It looked like they had lots of picnic tables, playgrounds for kids etc. We were not here long, so I'm sure there was a lot more to see and do.

This is a great natural outdoor environment great for groups of all ages . I had the pleasure of enjoying a picnic at a beautiful quiet spot by the lagoon. Amazing wildlife to see. It's a self pay of 5.00 in a variety of spots to find the machine to pay . The area is kept very clean with lots of trash cans to be respectful and clean up after yourself as well. This is definitely my favorite spot to enjoy a little quiet time from the city.

maybe my sister's best recommendation so far. this park is excellent for walks, hikes and a breather from the WRLD. youll see the signs when you arrive, and there are various parking lots you can stop at and decide to hike from there. the are many beautiful, picture-worthy hills you can hike, with pacific cows and wildlife roaming these lands. fairfield is mostly warm, so most days must be gorgeous! plus, we made new cow friends

This park is AMAZING! Many hiking trail and many cows! They have a small play area for kids that have swings, a dog park, a trail around the lake, a golf course down the road, a boat doc next to the swings, and of course the amazing scenery.

Fee to park. Pay station was out of order. Luckily I have the PayMobile app. Plenty of parking on an early March Saturday. Main bathrooms are flush. Not much shade around the lagoon. Not many bugs. Only a little mud in some spots.

Wanted to see the sunrise so I dropped by on the way home from a quick trip from Rocklin to San Francisco Bay Area. It was extremely foggy when we were driving from Rocklin but we beat the fog traveling south by 30 minutes. When we parked, the skies were clear and was just 15 minutes shy of the sunrise time. Trail was wide and easy to hike up, and we ran into a handful of people who were enjoying the walk. Midway up, the fog rolled in and rolled in fast! Totally missed the sunrise under the blanket of fog but it was still a good time seeing the Valley and lagoon.

I've been to Lagoon Valley in Vacaville several times, and it's one of my favorite spots for a quick escape into nature. The lush, scenic views are absolutely stunning, especially when the hills are green. If you're up for a bit of a challenge, the moderate trails can be quite a workout, but they're definitely worth it for the views at the top. There's paid parking available, but to be honest, I've never had to pay when I go. Another great thing is that it's usually not crowded when I visit, so it feels like my own little slice of paradise.

Good for walks/hikes and views. Go around the lagoon, try your hand at frisbee golf, enjoy the dog park! It gets really warm during summer as there isn't much shade in areas you likely want to hike... so sunscreen or parasol is a must. There's some picnic benches spread around for when you want to park it and have some lunch.

Lagoon Valley Park in Vacaville is quite a gem. It has 306 acres of land and a 100 acre Lagoon Lake. It offers a ton of amenities and cost only $5 to park for the day. The park is for day use only. I dropped on by recently and the summer heat limited the length of my exploration. I will definitely be back in the cooler months though. I walked around the lake trail loop. I did not do the whole loop... it was hot out there. The lake allows non motorized watercraft and fishing. Supposedly the lake is filled with a variety of fish. There are picnic tables and benches scattered around the lake. The dog park and disc golf course is located next to the lake. The dog park does not have a lawn, it is mainly mulch. There are a ton of trails. Some of the trails have gorgeous elevated views. But right now in the summer, the foliage is mostly dry and brown. Plus Vacaville summer temps can reach into the low 100s and there is very little shade along the trails, so be mindful of that before heading out. Also another important fact to know is that the County is doing a lot of current park maintenance. So some trails and roads are closed or partially closed off as is parts of the disc golf course. For the latest updates, it is recommended to check the Solano County website. Beautiful park that near Vacaville and Fairfield. It has a dog park and a well established path that is good for all ages and abilities. Walking around the lagoon you will be in direct sunlight for most of the path but you can opt to remain on the shaded side. There's a parking lot with a good amount of parking and ultimate frisbee course. There are lots of ducks and geese depending on the time of year. Foliage is a great representation of Northern California. The park also hosts the local summer camps for city of Vacaville.

Amazing park! Beautiful vistas and hikes of varying difficulty. Lots of places to picnic or just sit and enjoy the incredible bird life on the lagoon. Great for dogs!!!

Lagoon Valley is a beautiful, picturesque park for the outdoor/nature aficionado. There are hiking trails, wildlife, picnic table area, playground, and a huge lagoon in the middle of it all that you can walk on a trail looping around it. It's off I-80, Pena Adobe Park exit. Parking is $5 and plentiful. (Haven't been during Spring or Summer seasons yet, so, I'm sure it's harder to find parking during those peak seasons) It's not a far drive for me and is one of my absolute favorite parks in Vacaville. I always enjoy taking a nice walk here and enjoying the sights of nature, left unbothered and uninterrupted by people (cows grazing and eating grass or hawks flying in the wind, anyone?)

My favorite hiking spot yet. Came all the way from San Jose to hike and I would come back. Cows are out grazing and the walk was not too steep at all. It took about 1.5-2 hours to finish the hike going up and down.

Can you see all the ducks behind Macchiato?

How much is it for day use?

    $5 for parking

Are there picnic tables for picnicking? BBQ's? and are the picnic tables close to parking?

I know for sure they have picnic tables. But I'm not sure about bbq pits. But the tables are close to parking.

I consider it a hidden gem because most people passing by on I-80 can't tell it's there even though it's right by the freeway.

Magnolia Park is still newer, so of course it looks beautiful and well-kept. There are covered bench and table areas to enjoy a picnic or even throw a party. Those, unfortunately, are the only shaded areas at the park. Given how hot Vacaville can get, this is quite disappointing. The dining areas are fairly clean, for the most part. We will, unfortunately, always have individuals who will not clean up after themselves though. In regard to play areas, there are a couple areas where both big kids and little ones can enjoy. The jungle gym areas have bark to help soften kids' falls. I'm personally not a fan of the bark, since it gets in shoes, cause splinters, and what not. Thankfully, other areas have a thicker rubber covering the ground. There is also a water station where kids can play and enjoy playing in the cool water. This was a huge hit for many of the kids (and adults with their children) during the summer.
