Awesome Park for little ones, the water feature is great for those very hot days or for children to love to play in water. Downside to this park is theres not too much shade protecting the play structure so things get very hot very quickly. Definitely want to check out more playgrounds with my family after going to this awesome one

'Always looking for a good park to take HAPA Boy, my bully-pit to... 'And as we were driving by, I saw this place. ('And what'doya know, it's not on Yelp*... Well, now it is.) So, we just had to stop and check it out. Magnolia Park (Southtown Park) - Work in Progress (WiP) Photo - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/magnolia-park-vacaville?select=rvRz3n_FzkgRpBWe4rznJQ#ndDE6F6-de-aikEhYE5ShQ The west side of Magnolia Park has been partially opened for public access and use. A very nice fledgling of a park... 'Appears to be coming along great thus far and looks promising as it nears completion. The park is still a Work in Progress, but as previously stated, parts of it are opened for public use. At the time of our visit, the restrooms & "Spray Play Feature,"(Water Play Area), were currently under construction. One of the workers told me that the restrooms should be completed in about three weeks... 'Too bad, cause I really could've used it three minutes ago. Hence, our "brief" first visit. A custom spray play feature will be installed after the first phase is complete. The park will ultimately include a basketball court; multiple small picnic areas, all with barbecues and two with structural shade; an open turf area; a plaza/seating area; restrooms; pathway connections to the local neighborhood; security lighting; and off-street parking for about 100 vehicles, according to the release. This one however is slightly higher in overall grade/quality. I was very impressed to see that there is grass coverage, edge-to-edge and no dirt/gravel paths. Beautiful park to bring your family and just love life. Park is very diverse in age and very colorful. Open space, baseball area, basketball court and play area for all ages under 10. 3 Gazebos for bbq and two areas without the gazebo. Nice park and my favorite.

Do you have to reserve picnic area for a birthday party?

No, but you do not want to take a risk. I reserved a spot a month ahead just in case. The day of my daughters birthday, there were 2 families who didn't have a spot for a party and 2 other families who didn't read the 'reserve' sign for our area and… Read more

I recently found out about this place from a friend's Instagram story when they went. So I made…read moresure to plan a hike here for when I had time. I was able to come here in the middle of the week around noon. The GPS made this place easy to find. There is plenty of parking here at pena adobe park and lagoon valley park. The hike is located at lagoon valley park, so don't mix those up. You do have to pay $5 for parking, and the machine kiosk was broken when I went, but you can still pay through the park mobile app, which is what I did. The hike is listed as moderate, but felt borderline difficult to me (maybe I'm just out of shape). There is a lot of up hill when you first start, and because there wasn't a lot of shade combined with me going on the hottest day of the week (low 80 degrees), it did make it feel more difficult. After I parked, I was a bit confused on where to go so had to ask someone finishing up their hike for the direction. I was instructed to go up the main trail past the gate for the main trail to the lighthouse at the top. There are lots of trails here, but the one to the top of the hill is the most popular, and probably the most difficult). Once you park in the lot by the lake/pond, you cross the road to the grassy side and follow that trail to the gate that keeps the cows inside. There is another easier hike/walk your can take around the lake/pond, which is mostly flat. The views on this hike are great. Despite it being a little warmer, the breeze helped a lot. I liked the views and made it to the top after about 1 and a half hours. In total, it took me about 2 hours to finish the hike. And that's with a 20 minute break halfway going uphill. Going downhill is a lot faster. I'll be back for one of the other trails and how to bring family and friends to join.

This place is great right now late January. I think it's probably hot as heck in the summer. My…read morekids and I went for a walk around the lagoon, it took us about 50 minutes. Nice walk on a dry day. Would be super muddy in the rain. Seems like a place that's only good during a particular weather/season. Parking is $5+. Lots of picnic tables, some bathrooms and a playground available. We'll probably be back if we find ourselves in the area.
