I didn't realize I'd not yet reviewed this park before as I should have. We actually discovered this park via Yelp a few years ago. With my daughter & grandkids living in Sacramento and me in Sonoma County we were looking for a great (halfway) meeting spot. This park has so much to offer and is quite expansive. If you've not been there before, be sure to check out the different levels as each has something different. There also are two dog parks - one for the smaller dogs & one for bigger dogs which I think is smart. The park offers walking & bike path/trails. Lots & lots of lawn space for picnics as well as covered picnic areas. My grandkids love coming here whenever I need to meet my daughter to take them back home or vice-a-versa. The one and only negative (which cannot be helped) is that it can get quite windy here. Check the forecast for this area if planning an outing here.

This is a review of the dog park**Not an ADA-accessible part of the park.*** Went to the large dog park. It's completely fenced and practically immaculate. Sure someone just *had* to not pick up their poop even though there are bag, trash can stations literally everywhere in this dog park. There is water for the dogs as well. Landscape: a longish hillside about 400 yards long and maybe 50 yards wide with bark and trees=no sand or grass. It's x-crossed by a wide concrete path in switchbacks. There's also another wide concrete path along one side. Both are too steep for wheelchairs which is why I am not giving this 5 stars. This is great for dogs. Note that it is surrounded by big rolling hills and you should be careful at dawn and dusk because of coyotes.

There's so much here. Dog park, playgrounds, baseball fields, grass, picnic area, and walking trails. 3.25.21 restrooms available All so nicely maintained. There is plenty for everyone to do here!

My doggos absolutely love the dog parks here (one for small and the other for large pets). Both areas have covered seating areas, sturdy fencing, fresh water for pups and great views of the surrounding hills. Every once in a while the cows will graze within feet of the big dog park which is quite a site to see. Everyone is very neighborly and kind, my youngest pup always has a blast with the other dogs when we bring him. Will continue coming to this spot for years to come!

LOVE this dog park! My girl is considered large and big dog area is pretty big. It's like a mini obstacle course for her. There's always doggie bags (though I always carry my own), the park is clean, friendly dogs/owners, benches all around, 2 drinking area, 2 entrances and exits. All and all this park's layout is nice, pretty, and I haven't had any complaints from my girl. Though I have encountered issues in the small dog area. My friend's yorkie got bitten by one of the other dogs and the owner didn't care to do anything. Also the people here were extremely rude, when I was about to enter in this lady rushed over and asked me if my dog was under 25lbs (i mean was she going to whip out a scale or something) when she obvious knew my dog wasn't. And when i told her the sign said "or shy dogs" are ok too, she just gave me an attitude and said "that thing is shy?!" like my dog was some aggressive, untrained, dog eating beast. Also once i left to go back to the big dog area she had the nerve to shout out "ok you guys can go back to playing, the big dog left already". Another thing was we found 2 ticks on the yorkie when we were putting the dogs in the car. I totally recommend this dog park, just avoid the crazy small dog area. I mean I've never heard anyone tell me that small dog that comes along with me isn't allowed int he big area.

Great for dogs, it's huge! Love that it separates the big and little dogs. Wish the big dog side had more flat land though.

Ask the Community - Cordelia Community Park

Should we have to book the picnic table prior to reaching?

Anyone asking this question needs to inquire with the city's website.

Are the restrooms open during COVID right now?

I did see that they were open when I went passed. They do have signs about cleaning done. That was about a week ago.

What are the fees for renting the picnic areas?

I recently found out about this place from a friend's Instagram story when they went. So I made…read moresure to plan a hike here for when I had time. I was able to come here in the middle of the week around noon. The GPS made this place easy to find. There is plenty of parking here at pena adobe park and lagoon valley park. The hike is located at lagoon valley park, so don't mix those up. You do have to pay $5 for parking, and the machine kiosk was broken when I went, but you can still pay through the park mobile app, which is what I did. The hike is listed as moderate, but felt borderline difficult to me (maybe I'm just out of shape). There is a lot of up hill when you first start, and because there wasn't a lot of shade combined with me going on the hottest day of the week (low 80 degrees), it did make it feel more difficult. After I parked, I was a bit confused on where to go so had to ask someone finishing up their hike for the direction. I was instructed to go up the main trail past the gate for the main trail to the lighthouse at the top. There are lots of trails here, but the one to the top of the hill is the most popular, and probably the most difficult). Once you park in the lot by the lake/pond, you cross the road to the grassy side and follow that trail to the gate that keeps the cows inside. There is another easier hike/walk your can take around the lake/pond, which is mostly flat. The views on this hike are great. Despite it being a little warmer, the breeze helped a lot. I liked the views and made it to the top after about 1 and a half hours. In total, it took me about 2 hours to finish the hike. And that's with a 20 minute break halfway going uphill. Going downhill is a lot faster. I'll be back for one of the other trails and how to bring family and friends to join.

This place is great right now late January. I think it's probably hot as heck in the summer. My…read morekids and I went for a walk around the lagoon, it took us about 50 minutes. Nice walk on a dry day. Would be super muddy in the rain. Seems like a place that's only good during a particular weather/season. Parking is $5+. Lots of picnic tables, some bathrooms and a playground available. We'll probably be back if we find ourselves in the area.

Magnolia Park is still newer, so of course it looks beautiful and well-kept. There are covered bench and table areas to enjoy a picnic or even throw a party. Those, unfortunately, are the only shaded areas at the park. Given how hot Vacaville can get, this is quite disappointing. The dining areas are fairly clean, for the most part. We will, unfortunately, always have individuals who will not clean up after themselves though. In regard to play areas, there are a couple areas where both big kids and little ones can enjoy. The jungle gym areas have bark to help soften kids' falls. I'm personally not a fan of the bark, since it gets in shoes, cause splinters, and what not. Thankfully, other areas have a thicker rubber covering the ground. There is also a water station where kids can play and enjoy playing in the cool water. This was a huge hit for many of the kids (and adults with their children) during the summer.

When you push the button for the water area a set of sprinkles will shoot water up in some random pattern for kids to run around in. The water area seems like it's suited for toddlers, but even older kids really like it and will crowd you out if you're not careful, it's playground rules after all. The city is pretty good about keeping the park clean and fixing broken equipment, which they better be since local residents are paying monthly maintenance fees. :) I come here all the time with my son and we never see anything too jarring as far as trash goes and even if the equipment is dirty, it's usually cleaned up by the next time we visit. There's also a set of 4 picnic tables under a gazebo type structure, along with a few other tables and bbq grills around the playgrounds. Thankfully there are also some trees lined up close to the playgrounds and these provide some shade for parents in case the picnic tables are too far to keep an eye on the little ones. A short distance from the playgrounds there is a half court for basketball and a small skateboarding area. To be honest it looks like this area is not totally finished. I would pack some extra clothes in case your little one decides to get wet on a hot summer day :)
