We waited on the bar chairs in front of the grill and while waiting we noticed that there were a few flies flying around the grill which was a little disconcerting but didn't complain as it can happen sometimes. Once the food was ready we ate in their outside tables as the inside was retty small and got crowded fast The food iyslwf was decent but could have used a little flavor. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and was a little disappointed when i only saw half a pice of bacon (see picture). I was expecting more but its fine since the price was really reasonable. The staff overall was also nice and very hospitable.

There are a few bench's and chairs on the front porch to relax in after eating or if you need to wait for a table. They have a general store with some interesting items as well. Schuler's is a buffet style barbecue and all you can eat. Their pulled pork is their best meat. I wasn't really impressed with their ribs though. Don't get me wrong, the were pretty good but I certainly wasn't blown away. Their fried chicken is good but again not much different from most buffets in South Carolina. Their collards are nice and they do offer hash. If you're thinking corn beef hash, it's not that. It's a BBQ or liver hash and it's definitely an acquired taste. I usually put it over rice if I get it. Hash was highly popular in South Carolina for many years. It can't hurt to try it as Schuler's is actually pretty good. Not my favorite barbecue in the area but it's cool place with great people.

We ordered at the counter and found a table. Both of us ordered the pimento cheese sandwich. I ordered fries and a side salad with ranch, she ordered the house made chips. We both thought the pimento sandwich was delicious. My fries were served hot and fresh. The salad was a disappointment. It looked and tasted like it had been poured out of a bag. The ranch dressing was as thin as water without much flavor. My coworker enjoyed the house made chips. I did appreciate the Texas mustard BBQ sauce. The dining area was comfortable and decor was interesting.

The restaurant is quaint and uniquely decorated. However, the customer service could be better. Staff at the counter didn't greet us when we came in, which is a big pet peeve for me. Once we ordered, another staff member bought us our drinks and that was the end of the customer service. We had the buffet, but you can also order entrees from the menu and they also cater. They weren't busy when we walked in which is surprising for a Sunday, but they began to pick up while we were eating- the Mayor even stopped by and ordered a take out plate. The food was good for the most part but needs some tweaks to be great. The best things I had were the mac and cheese, cabbage, collards and bbq pig feet. The desserts looked a little sad, but my mother said the apple cobbler was good. Maybe next time I'll try them on a Friday when they have fried fish. If you're passing through the area or even live locally and haven't been there, try them out.
