After having the crab cake sandwich we would recommend doing the platter because the bread overpowers the crab cake. Everything was incredible, the flavors, consistency, and quality. Ambiance was super informal and adds to the vibe of what you're eating. Also unrelated but the cashier/server has a super calming energy/presence/voice which totally added to the vibe

Came with slaw, 1x Side (Collard Greens: sweet vinegar with some heat, and a bit of pork, really good!), and some AMAZING Hushpuppies (fresh, sweet corn bread). Shrimp & Grits: Fantastic! Coleslaw was "meh," but a good, crunchy foil to the fish and rice. Counter Service (order at register, then they bring to table/to-go) was quite fast, given that they had to cook the fish and prep foods for take-out. Everything looked clean, staff was nice, and owner was talking to everyone. Didn't get to try the variety of desserts, but they looked and smelled great. Traveling, but worth the stop!

I had the pulled chicken platter with lima beans and corn, plus a side of fried okra. Anjelina had the small pulled pork platter with slaw and the lima beans and corn. The food was DELICIOUS. Both the pulled chicken and pulled pork were tender, well cooked and full of flavor. The sauces were particularly good. The Kansas City style was sweet and savory, while the Carolina mustard sauce was tangy with just enough kick. Both were excellent with the barbecue. As usual, dining out for us requires a little more homework than simply deciding what sounds good. Between the two of us, we bring a tree nut allergy, Alpha-Gal syndrome, a gluten allergy and dairy sensitivity to the table -- with diabetes thrown in as the kicker, just in case ordering dinner was getting too easy. Our waiter seemed to genuinely understand the allergy issues and was confident in the restaurant's ability to accommodate them. He was friendly, helpful and made us comfortable with our choices. When you're dealing with actual food allergies, that confidence and knowledge matter. The dining room was spacious, clean and had a good casual barbecue atmosphere. There was also a live band playing while we were there, which we weren't expecting but ended up really enjoying. They were good, although the music made things a little loud. Wholly Smokin' works well for a casual date, getting together with friends or just a good everyday meal. I'd also be comfortable using it for a casual business lunch or dinner, although the live music could make conversation more difficult depending on when you visit. Good barbecue, excellent sauces, friendly service and a positive experience navigating our somewhat ridiculous collection of dietary restrictions. We'd happily eat here again.

Hey Yelp Fam! Hey…read morey'all, I'm back with another review, and this time we're in Florence, South Carolina. We were out and about and wanted to try a new place to eat. My sister mentioned that she came across a spot on TikTok that everyone was talking about--apparently, they serve huge portions of seafood at a reasonable price. Honestly, there wasn't much convincing needed. She had me at seafood, big portions, and affordable prices, so I was like, let's go. When we got there, the parking lot was pretty full, so we expected a bit of a wait once we went inside. They do have a drive-thru, but since this was our first time and we weren't exactly sure what we wanted to order, we decided to go inside instead. For it being our first visit, we ordered quite a few things: shrimp platters, a hamburger just to try it out, and even a couple of hot dogs. When the food came out, they weren't kidding about the huge portions. You get a lot of food--served in what looks like a medium-sized pizza box, overflowing and a bit greasy. But the food was good. I really enjoyed the shrimp and fries, and the hushpuppies, fried okra were good too. I didn't care too much for the hot dogs or the hamburger, or salad, the bake potato. The grill shrimp was ok but to be fair, when I go to a seafood place, I usually stick to seafood. When I post the photos, you'll see just how much food they give you. Overall, the food was good and the service was solid. Would I go back? Probably. I'd likely check out a few other seafood spots in the area just to compare, but if I couldn't find another option, I'd definitely come back here and order the shrimp platter again.
