While driving back from a trip in FL, I had a craving for BBQ, and being within the BBQ belt, I hoped to find something good in the Carolinas. We stopped for fuel, when what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a BBQ buffet; my lunch choice was clear. I will say, the staff was extremely friendly (typical southern hospitality), the prices weren't bad, and the spread looked OK. That's all the good I can say about this place. The food was ... edible? Tastes ranged from gas station convenience to expired theme park grub found under the bushes while waiting in line for the roller coaster. Next to the mushy pile labeled "pulled pork" was a bottle of sauce which was probably a lopsided mixture of ketchup, vinegar, and hot sauce - the only sauce aside from bland hot sauce on the tables to be found. The "pulled pork" was really the only thing even resembling BBQ, otherwise, they had fried chicken (which wasn't awful) or "grilled" (??) chicken that looked like it has been cut from the bird and cooked in the bucket of grey water, boiling in the hot sun. It pains me to dislike food, and I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I had to come out of Yelp retirement to leave this one. Absolutely do not stop here. read more

My father alerted me to this establishment. When I visited I indeed found it excellent but disputed his recollection that there were vegetables available other than fried. Now on the third visit, I can see there are indeed vegetables and maybe in the past I was too focused on fried pork chops (which I think are only available weekends since they weren't around for visits 2 and 3.) This isn't the largest buffet of all time but they're going for quality, not quantity. Fried chicken, pork barbecue and perfect sweet tea with just a tiny lemony zing are highlights. The shocking price tag is $7.79 for weekday dinner - I think it's $6.79 for weekday lunch and on weekends it crosses the $8 barrier. And the vegetables are indeed worth noticing, with the large, flat green beans ranking higher on the pork spectrum than the collard greens.The only disappointment was the ordinary mac and cheese. The pasta salad had more of a kick than expected. I was reluctant to leave but at least it ended on a high note with cherry cobbler and banana pudding, and then it was off to Route 95. read more

This is one of the better southern buffets I've had. Great chicken, good meat n gravy and mashed potatoes. This is a typical steak buffet you find in this state. One of the more special choices was the sweet potatoes. Some of the best ever. My only complaint would be the delapidated bathrooms and judgmental stares from the patrons. AWFUL! It was right across the street from our hotel, and we were tired so we gave it a shot and hoped for the best. STAY AWAY. The "buffet" was chicken and some sides. The rolls were good and that is the only thing nice I can say. The place STINKS inside. AWFUL. I guess there is no rules on smoking in restaurants in SC, because people were smoking everywhere and it just smelled AWFUL. Decided to try this out on a whim after seeing mixed yelp reviews. Poor life choice. We ordered bbq sandwich trays with fries and a drink. I also asked for a cut of water for the dogs. We were charged 25¢ for the water because "the cup".. Is this 1950? Moving on. It took about 10 minutes to get our food, which we were warned about when we ordered. When we got our food we ate in the car because the dogs. The bbq was completely tasteless. The fries had obviously been frozen when we ordered and we're made "fresh".. The best thing we could say about the food was that it was hot. It was the most unenjoyable meal I'd ever had. This place is one of the old steakhouse buffet places. The buffet was available and I noticed standard buffet fare you'd see at somewhere like Golden Corral, fried chicken, mac and cheese, frozen mixed veggies, fries, etc. There was also a salad bar that looked decent enough. Mediocre at best. The staff was excellent and very friendly and attentive, but all of the food on the buffet left something to be desired. I tried the spaghetti and the noodles were very mushy, as if it had been sitting in water a while. Though there was a variety of southern food, it wasn't the best tasting. Selections included pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, potatoes, chicken, etc. The salad bar was good. The dessert bar was good although the cobblers weren't warm. The ice cream machine really had ice milk in it which isn't as good, but it was better than nothing. This is a good option if you're stopping off of the highway and don't want fast food, though it isn't the best buffet. I did not try the plates that you could order so I cannot speak for how that stuff tasted. read more

I'm too stuffed to think. Maybe a buffet wasn't the best idea before a 4 hour drive. I won't lie, some of the food on the buffet looked like it was left from yesterday and it was 3pm when we got there. I did not partake in any of those but everything else was above average. I would say the highlight was the stewed beef and the sweet tea. I personally would not recommend getting a big plate of their BBQ before you try it. I was on vacation from the UK and for some reason I decided to drive from Coral Springs in Florida to NYC on I95. Throughout the entire journey I just kept seeing signs for Maccy 's, Wendy's, Burger King etc. The only thing that I kept thinking was "Where can I find something eat that hasn't been deep fat fried, is smothered in some ridiculously sweet sauce or layered with 12 layers of cheese?" Fuel was running low so I pulled off at Dillon to fill up and right next to the garage was this outstanding steak house. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a large buffet full of roast chicken, steamed veg etc, next to which was a lovely looking salad bar. I ordered the 12 once steak with a jacket spud and was told I was also entitled to the salad bar and dessert counter. Nice. Have you ever had a time when you're hungry, you have a picture in your head of the perfect meal to eat and when it comes to the table the reality is even better? No? Well I actually experienced this at B and C's. The steak was so good that even before I finished it I had to congratulate the chef for cooking me the best steak I'd eaten in the three months I'd been in the States. Listen, if you want a proper sized steak, not the normal tiny beef nugget you normally get charged $20 for, cooked to perfection you need to get youself down here.
