I am so disappointed in this establishment. I've worn glasses my entire life and I'm 52 yrs old. I've NEVER had such a difficult time getting a pair of glasses to work. 7 weeks of trying to get them right. 3 lens corrections and 2 different manufacturers. The eye dr did give me the wrong script initially, which didn't help, but end result is I have a pair of glasses that don't allow me to see properly when working on the computer which is 80% of my waking day, Mon-Fri. I should have realized NOT to order glasses from this establishment when I walked in with my script to pick out frames and I tried on several frames - from their "limited selection" of choices - and was having trouble finding a frame I liked and not once did an employee come to assist me with the best pair of frames for me. You are left to make your own decision. They take the money and give you the glasses. Done. They didn't spend much time helping me with the frame adjustments. I actually said the glasses were pinching my nose on one side and showed the mark and the manager said "that was mark was there from trying on the glasses or from your previous glasses!" I said they don't seem to fit right over my ears either. The manager said again "it just feels that way now, but it's from trying on other frames". Not once did she look to see the pressure points. She just sat there with her arms folded and telling me excuses for what "I was feeling". As if, portraying it's certainly not the glasses - no, it's you. What? They just don't give you the attention needed to help you pick out the right frames, to making sure that your face is measured properly to making sure the frames AND lenses fit right and you're happy with them. I went back and forth for 7 weeks to be stuck with a pair of glasses for the next year that do not correct my vision properly and to be told NO REFUNDS. I clearly had multiple issues from the start with these glasses, yet I was told point blank - no refunds because they are customized to me. Really? Even the $260 frames that I physically took off the rack are customized? She said, "Yes. No refund for any of it". "Sorry we couldn't help". WOW! For real? Stunned & disappointed, to say the least! The customer is wrong, I guess. All these years of wearing glasses and dealing with optical shops and I've NEVER had the trouble like I've had as with this set of glasses or with this optical establishment. Now, my VSP insurance was used, my flex spending money that was saved to get the new glasses was used. I have no money or insurance left to even be able to get a proper pair of glasses at another establishment. I have to wait a year to get insurance and flex spending money saved. I should have stuck with the optical place I've been going to for the last 10 years. They always got it right! But I was referred to Southeast Optical and they are located minutes from my house. So I rolled the dice. Shame on me! My opinion, stay away from Southeast Optical. Although, only a 2-person staffed establishment, the 2 people were friendly in demeanor, just not as service friendly and for the customer as I've experienced with past Optical places. With the multiple problems I incurred with the glasses, they should NOT have hesitated to give me a refund - take the glasses back and let me go to another place! It wasn't my fault the glasses didn't work. This is my first negative review I've ever written. I will now submit my review and opinion on Yelp and Facebook as well about this establishment to warn people of their policies and service. If they were for the customer, they would have refunded me for the glasses. Stay away from Southeast Optical. read more
