I had enough time to get a new eye test and prescription before setting off. First thing I did was to wander up and down Plymouth looking for an optician, and the highly amusingly names Public Spectacle caught my eye. Dr. McLeod was excellent! Polite, funny and very good at what he does. We went through his selection of frames, quickly chose the right frames and lenses and he was able to ship them to my next stopping point on my trip. As a result I had both cheaper and better glasses and service than I ever got in my native UK. Especially since I paid in full for them, insurance not being a big thing back home. If I'm ever back in the area and in need of a new pair, I'll be going back! I highly recommend Dr. McLeod and his services. I just wish this hadn't taken me over a year to find and write.

I got a great pair of titanium glasses here. About a year after I bought them the metal at the bridge broke because I was squeezing them to adjust them like I was shown at the store- maybe I did it too hard? Anyway I googled the problem and it does happen to these titanium glasses. I called them from out of state and they said mail them to us. I did and they replaced them free of charge and mailed them back to me out of state free of charge! Nice service.

I had seen another OD for decades... and at the end of 2016, i was experiencing some symptoms that…read morethis other OD kept dismissing- yet my eye sight kept getting worse. It was suggested that I get a second opinion and when I called Dr Marchetto, she saw me the very same day. After an extremely thorough exam (probably the most thorough exam I had ever had on my eyes and I have been dependent upon glasses and contacts for over 40 years), I was diagnosed with cataracts - cataracts that needed to be addressed fairly quickly. To say that I was SHOCKED would be an under statement. After having a COMPLETE meltdown (after all, these are my EYES and you only get one set of eyes), Dr Marchetto and her awesome staff calmly and methodically walked me through two months of preparation and severe anxiety leading up to my cataract surgery and recovery (surgery was performed by OCB in Plymouth). I am happy to report that I had successful surgery on both my eyes, and have pretty close to 20/20 vision even as a high myopia patient! Not to sound dramatic, but I hate to think what would have happened had I not stumbled upon this practice. I feel like they literally saved my eyesight for me. I would recommend this practice to anyone.

I brought back a pair of glasses because they seemed wonky and the gentleman fixed them while I waited, they were improved but still wonky. I figured maybe it was me, maybe I wasn't giving my eyes a break while viewing a screen when I was supposed to so I kept using them. At my next eye appointment (I go somewhere else for medical reasons) I asked them to check and see if the glasses matched the prescription and they said they were way off, that because of astigmatism it's important that they be centered correctly. So, I called and asked for the owner to talk about the error in the glasses. She did not return my call for about a week and when she did she seemed really defensive saying that it is not possible that the glasses left there with a flaw. Then said that they had to special order the frames because I wanted old frames which I was very appreciative of and thanked her again for. She then said that it had been a year since I got the glasses to which I replied I think it's been 9 months but thinking, who cares, I wasn't asking her for anything. I was calling to let her know that the person working on the glasses may need some more training on centering glasses. And to order new glasses with the new prescription I just received (that I did Not expect free at this point but was hoping for a discount due to driving cross-eyed-ish for 9 months). She finally snapped "you'll need to bring those in." Obviously. I don't think I'll ever go back there, she obviously cares more about not being wrong than she cares about her customers.

The old-fashioned feel , with all the latest technology !, His office looks amazing as well, feels comfy. Don't waste your money on the "box" stores. You will not be disappointed with Hayden Optometic's, the entire staff is friendly and helpful, Dr. Hayden himself is so personable. So I called masshealth and they said every doctors office has the authority to fill theses out they were just refusing me. I hope this won't happen with anyone else in the future.
