I didn't feel welcome and should have gone by my gut impression. Still, I scratched it up to perhaps he was having a bad day and went there for new glasses, the first pair I'd have for both far and near-sightedness. Mr. Nicholson's attitude wasn't warm, yet it wasn't so unpleasant as to turn me off, so we continued our exchange, and I bought my glasses from him - a mistake. I went back two days later with questions about my focus and the slanting, and curved images I was experiencing. Mr. Nicholson replied by explaining what he explained when I first tried the glasses - that I had to adjust my vision lower to read with transition lenses. I concurred that it will take some getting used to after never having the experience before. I explained that I'm a seventy-five-year-old man, who needs to get accustomed to wearing them and adjusting my eyes accordingly, and that I had other questions. There was never a simple acknowledgement that there will be a learning curve to getting used to something new. Rather, a younger man (an optician student) stepped forth from the back of the store and explained the cause of some of my concerns and agreeing that it will take time to get used to the new glasses. After thanking the young man for his assistance, Mr. Nicholson again tried to explain what he had already done, that I must focus lower on the written word. I tried to explain that I "got it," that he had explained it more than once and was now talking to me as one might talk to a child, when indeed I had other questions. Mr. Nicholson then talked over me, telling me and others in the store that I wanted to talk and not listen. As I don't argue with people yet felt myself getting angry. I turned to leave, stating that I do not do business with people who yell at me and treat me in a demeaning manner. He continued to berate me further and more loudly and talk about my listening skills. He was even asked by a woman who also came from the rear of the store to calm own. I was leaving, on my way out the door, when he added, he'd rather give me my money back. Oops, what!? As a person of integrity, I understand full well when one doesn't want my business. Such a statement was insulting and obviously one in which he in fact didn't want my business. I'd have been a fool to leave the store with the glasses, so I turned and said that was for the best. Give me my money back, here are your glasses. I stood quiet while he undid the transaction. He reversed the charge to my debit card, and I left without speaking another word. I write because it's important that people know (in spite of some positive reviews) that Mr. Nicholson can be quite rude, insulting, arrogant, and indignant with an air of superiority. I would not have felt good about myself if after such a comment, I continued on my way before indeed, requesting my money back and relinquishing the glasses. I was not rude, never raised my voice and was simply asking normal questions one might have from wearing a new pair of glasses after never having the experience previously. I would not recommend any self-respecting person to do business with Eye & Eye Optics. You might get spoken to as a child and told outright that they don't want your money. Thinking one is always right, not allowing the customer to explain him or herself, and reiterating the same message for an innocent and appropriate question is no way to do business. I used to love this place. It was my go to for lens replacement. They seem to always care about my…read moreglasses and my satisfaction. Also, the prices were reasonable. During my last visit, for a prescription lens replacement, I was very disappointed. For a simple single prescription it was almost $200 for lenses only! when they were ready, I did not receive any call back that my prescription was filled and ready to be picked up. when I picked up my glasses. I was asked to try them to make sure I could see out of the prescription which I could. But in the past, the technician would sit with me and make sure that the arms of my glasses were aligned, and he would bend them to make sure I had a good fit, he made sure that his customer was satisfied . I didn't find that this past week. Basically they wanted to make sure I could see and sent me off on my way. They gave me two tiny alcohol eyeglass wipes, which were dried up when I opened them . this is why we see many stores closing...great customer service matters and if we aren't appreciated we shop online, and get better prices. I don't think I will be going back here. They've lost that personal touch, which I had appreciated in the past.

TLDR: staffs were nice but i feel like they were trying sell different contacts brands that did not…read morework for me. chose to come here because i saw all of the positive reviews. my experience unfortunately was just okay. i came for glasses and contact exam. staffs and doctor was nice. everything went smoothly. they gave me some trial contacts and i paid for my exam. i noticed that they did not give me my prescription and i had to ask them for it. they only printed my glasses but not my contacts because i was on a "trial" period. it was an odd response. my old monthly contacts work just fine but they kept insisting that the dailies were better. regardless i would have preferred to still have my monthly contact subscription that i paid for. and if the dailies work out then print me that later. but i just went on with my life since i still had some monthly in stock so anyways i tried the dailies for a week and it was okay for me. i asked them how much for a year's worth of supply and it cost 2-3x more than my monthly. i obviously prefer the monthly that was already working fine for me. even if you throw in some contact solutions bottles that i can get at a discount, it comes in much lower than the dailies. i asked them to just give me a prescription for my monthly contacts that i was already using. they insisted i try another upgraded version of my current contacts. so i had to drive all the way over to pick up another trial. after a few days of using it, my eyes was hurting at the end of the day and was watery when i was driving at night. this upgraded monthly clearly did not work out so i once again just asked for my previous brand that i have been using for over 5 year after a few emails with no responses, i made a phone call and they finally sent me my original contacts that i was already using before hand overall was just a painful process, required a lot of driving back and forth, phone calls and coordination before i can just get my prescription that i have already paid for

The new one decided I needed prism, and since then my eyes seem worse than ever. Also the exam seemed very very quick compared to past exams (like for the past dozen years or so). ****Buyer be aware ! ***…read more Worst experience ever !! Purchased glasses and contacts . This was the first week of October. I was told my glasses were ready, went to pick it up only for it to be the wrong prescription. I was told it would be sent out to be corrected. I waited 3 weeks , no one called there was no text message. I called to check if my glasses had arrived and was told they had arrived . I went again to target , only to be told by O'Neal the manager that the glasses actually had never been sent out at all. He assured me that it would be sent out and the correct prescription would be done . I waited again another two weeks . Called target optical , they said the glasses were there . Again I went down to the store only to be told the glasses could not be found in the store . O'Neal searched the store and could not locate the glasses in store . Again I was told to come back . After waiting another two weeks he called saying the glasses were in. To my excitement I went down to target again. Only to be disappointed again! The prescription still did not match the lenses that were made . At this point I sent an email to corporate. The district manager Joe called me after three weeks . He did not introduce himself or even look at the email. I had to explain to him what the problem was . Joe's response was very nonchalant. We can refund you $50 for the incompetence of our company! I came back one more time hoping they got the prescription right . Yet again they did not ! I was told I need time for my eyes to adjust to the prescription. The prescription I kept getting from target was made weaker than the glasses I currently wear and much weaker than what my prescription calls for . I asked if I could get a second opinion on the lenses . So I went to another optical store and they confirmed the lenses are weaker and do not match my current glasses or prescription . So far I'm being told just wear the glasses with a weak prescription on it . When I refused to do that and weaken my eyes . I opted to get a full refund . We are in the last week of the year and my only option is to get a refund !! The manager (Val?) who was doing the fixing adamantly denies scratching them and instead aggressively blamed me for bringing in "already scratched" glasses. I've been a loyal customer for 5 years and this is the treatment I get Why weren't the glasses checked before the fixing and if they were scratched ( which they weren't cuz I would have ordered new ones) - why wasn't this reported to me by the office beforehand? What's making me more confident that she scratched them is that this is THE SECOND TIME this has happened. But last time the lenses were brand new, so they couldn't blame me and had to replace them. The manager also didn't want to give me a supervisor's number, acting as if there's no one else above her who can help me. Instead, another staff member provided me with one.
