I love love love this place!!! But PLEASE update your hours so that they are consistent across all platforms. FB, the official website, and block island website all had different hours listed. Most we saw showed opened until 4:30. Some showed 5:00, and then I guess it was finally FB that showed you closed at 3. We were so bummed. We'd been looking forward to having our last meal at southeast delights. We rushed to get there by 4, and saw it was closed. I almost cried. This place is by far the best lobster roll I've ever had.

HANDS DOWN the best hot buttered lobster roll I've ever had!! We loved it so much we went back four days in a row on our trip. The staff is friendly and accommodating with quick service even on a busy July weekend. The atmosphere is great, steps from the Lighthouse, room for the kids to play and an ocean breeze? What more could you want! An absolute must visit when on Block Island.

If you're doing a loop around Block Island, Southeast Light Delights is one of the last places to eat between Mohegan Bluffs and the Block Island Airport. It's a small food truck on the grounds of Southeast Light. The lobster roll seems to be the thing to get here. I was excited for the unique flavors of soft serve (cake batter and brownie batter), but my cone was just ok. There isn't much seating, especially on a busy summer day, but it's cute that they provide picnic blankets for sitting on the grass. The prices are a bit steep and they are CASH ONLY so be sure to come with a full wallet!

Unbelievably good hot buttered lobster roll

Fantastic new food truck (!!) on Block island, located at the Southeast Lighthouse. They have only been opened for one month (as of August 2014) and already I can say that they offer the best lobster roll I've had on the island. And I 've been coming to BI for many, many years! High prices but absolutely worth it and deserving for the exceptional quality of food. Menu is small but interesting - hot or cold lobster rolls, lobster roll with bacon and manchego cheese, lobster grilled cheese...also excellent options for non-lobster lovers including caprese sandwich, grilled cheese or hot dog. The hot buttered lobster roll ($22) was incredible. A perfectly grilled roll with warm pieces of large lobster meat - not mixed with anything!!! That's how a lobster roll should be. No mayo, no celery...just fresh lobster and warm butter to pour over it all. And lemon of course! Fantastic! The caprese sandwich was also excellent - very fresh tomatoes, basil and mozzarella on a grilled bun with delicious balsamic vinegar. We were so happy to try this new food truck! They even have picnic blankets available to borrow to eat and lounge and enjoy the views for the beautiful Southeast Lighthouse. Don't miss this spot!

Pros: THE BEST LOBSTER GRILLED CHEESE ever and this is coming from a person who doesn't care for lobster The bread was golden brown and crunchy with every bite you took; lobster was fresh and it went perfectly with dels frozen lemonade Worth the visit! I would come back from nyc just to have another bite of that sandwich!

    On island time and hungry!

My husband and I are still drooling over the Caprese sandwich! After renting a bike and heading the Mohegan Bluffs, we were super hungry; thankfully this little truck is right next door and on the way back into town. Very reasonable price for the amount they give you and for the mouth watering flavors.

WARNING: Addictive! Seriously phenomenal lobster! Pick any type of lobster roll or the lobster grilled cheese. All of it is delicious and prepared perfectly. They also serve Dells in case you need a brain freeze on a hot summer day. Friendly and pleasant customer service. Our dog wants this to become part of our regular rotation.

Officially the island's BEST lobster roll according to like, everyone!

Awesome selection! The best lobster rolls on the island according to my Mum and everyone else lining up for them!! My grilled cheese was fabulous, I love Del's lemonade, and they have a lot of really cool beverages and food (plenty of vegetarian options too!) The owners are super friendly too :)

I came home excited to write this review. By far the best lobster roll I've had in ages, maybe ever. Having grown accustomed to solid red hook lobster pound and Luke's lobster staples in NYC, i was instantly reminded what the highest quality can taste like. Southeast lighthouse is a hike up the hill--need bike, moped, cab, car, or feet willing to walk the 1 1/2 mile drag from town. The food truck sits at the base of the lighthouse. They provide blankets for lunches picnics on the grounds and a playing card to match your order when called out. The service was friendly (he informed me that he caught this lobster himself that morning!) and the roll itself unbelievably delicious. Roll: hot and crunchy with BIBB lettuce. Major points. I'm guessing at least a lb of lobster meat. 21.50 . Can be served cold with mayo or hot with butter. They also make a satisfying lobster grilled cheese, carry local soda company sodas, and hot dogs for the kiddos. COMPLETELY worth the schlep...already wishing I had another! Far and away best lobster on the island.

    Yummy.

The best lobster roll I've ever had. I had it cold with a pinch of mayo and they also Steve hot with butter. Many other choices on the menu for those who don't care foo lobster. And that's what everyone who's been there before says. It's on a bluff and the views are spectacular. The owner and the kids that work with him are lots of fun.

Instead, you wait in line and order at the bar and they bring it to your table number. If you're looking for a fancy dinner, this isn't the place, but if you're looking for an option in between cheap and nice, this is the place. My boyfriend got the mac n cheese which was $16 (perhaps a little pricey). He said it wasn't very cheesy but personally I like it like that! I ordered the salmon and asked for just farro and corn instead of the succatash and goat cheese and all that, but they didn't bring any farro. I then asked for it and the guy asked me if I ordered it. I said yes, I know I did, and he said he'd go check, but he never came back. After 10-15 minutes I went to find the guy I asked and he seemed confused. He said "I couldn't find her" and I didn't know what he meant, but apparently he was looking for the girl who took my order? I guess to validate that I hadn't asked them to remove the farro? Very odd. A nice employee at the bar told him to just get me some farro (because it's really not that big of a deal) and he brought me a cold small plastic cup of unseasoned farro (pictured). Whole thing struck me as very odd and a little annoying. The dish was $29 which also felt a little expensive, especially without a big portion, but it's definitely more affordable than other places on the island. Overall, great view, but the rest of our experience was meh!

They work in front of basically half the tables and always keep their cool. With as busy as they are, they don't have an enormous menu and I feel that it's better that way. I'm not sure how often they change the menu as the online page showed slightly different meals. The wait staff are plentiful and it's rather amazing how well they keep up. The way my family and I were treated upon arrival was extremely disappointing. The male host was unnecessarily disrespectful and unwelcoming from the moment we walked in, despite us being polite and having every intention of dining there. After getting a reservation online and returning, the female host/manager was also a little rude and dismissive toward us at first. That only added to the uncomfortable atmosphere we felt. Even the bartenders didn't acknowledge us. Staff would catch eye contact with us and just keep going. Thankfully, the experience improved once we were seated. Our waiter (Cam) was genuinely kind, professional, and attentive throughout the meal, and the food itself was excellent. The chefs clearly know what they're doing, because every dish was prepared beautifully and tasted amazing. It's unfortunate that such strong food and service from the waitstaff are overshadowed by the poor attitude at the front of the restaurant. A little basic respect and hospitality toward guests would make a huge difference. Growing up in the hospitality service (restaurant) then working in retail to aviation. We're all taught from the beginning. A person walks in, greet them with a smile and let them know you'll be with them shortly. Not ignore them then to be slightly rude. We all understand being busy. But don't take it out on the customers. Especially when they didn't cause your stress. I'm giving them a high score because Cam and the chefs were amazing. Even the chefs said goodnight to us and thanked us.

Great service, yummy food, good drink menu, photos of cute dogs on the wall... what more could you want after a long day at the beach? The tuna nachos were to die for. They definitely had some kick! The thick seasoned fries with the burger were also great. Unfortunately we filled up on everything and didn't save room for dessert, but we will definitely have dessert next time.

I only ate at the restaurant and didnt use any of the other facilities so will only comment on the restaurant portion. Its got pretty standard beach eats. Menu is pretty extensive. I ended up ordering the lobster roll. It was just okay. The bread just didnt do it for me. Many people in my group commented that the food was a bit salty. Service was great though. My main gripe was the weak drinks. You feel like you are somewhere in the Caribbean when you are on this resort but the weak slushy drinks were the buzz kill. Oh wait a minute. No buzz kill to be had because I never got buzzed to begin with. Probably best to stick with drinks thst you know have an exact amount of alcohol. Have a good time everybody.

You can't beat the lively music, crazy waves, and stunning views. Sadly, if you're not staying overnight on the island, then you probably would not know that they offer an amazing dinner nightly from 7 to 10 PM that is worth way more than they're charging. I ordered the filet special for $19 which included filet mignon, fingerling, potatoes, and asparagus. While the portion size didn't allow for leftovers, it was plenty to fill me up after a day of walking around and beaching it. When our server Diana came over to the table to take our order, I explained my allergies. She wrote everything down and personally spoke to the bartender and the chef who were both willing to accommodate my needs. I love a good dirty martini, but because of my allergy to red peppers, I often cannot have a dirty martini at restaurants because the olive juice has had olives with pimentos in them or the olives have been placed with cherries which I'm also allergic to. Diana went above and on by securing a jar of green olives that did not have pimentos and had the bartender make my drinks using that. Talk about exceptional service! When the food was brought out, Shawn, the manager, personally came over to see to it that I was all set. he conversed easily with my husband and me and had us smiling and laughing in no time. That's a rare gift! Ballards is very lucky to have him as a manager representing their establishment. If you're looking for something other than filet mignon, you'll be happy to know that they also offer a lobster special from 7 to 10 PM that is $20. We saw quite a few plates go by, and let me just tell you they were the biggest lobsters I've ever seen!!! My husband and I will be back for sure. He loved his gluten free Mac and cheese with lobster, and I loved my filet! The sunset dinner deals will have us and our friends coming back. This genius deal, stunning view, delicious food, and exceptional service have turned us into new customers!
