    Warm lobster roll
    Meg C.

Came for the views and it did not disappoint! We arrived around 2 and were able to get a seat on the deck overlooking the water easily. The warm lobster roll had a good amount of lobster and tasted fresh. Fries were hot and crispy. Calamari was also a good portion - the batter was nice and light and perfectly flash fried. We liked the wasabi aioli drizzled lightly on top for a nice twist. Service was quick, relaxed and friendly. Server forgot one of our beers but brought it out shortly after we reminded him. Would definitely return next time we're on the island!

Breathtaking ocean views sitting on the deck watching the harbor. Food was amazing, I highly recommend the Cajun swordfish bites! so juicy and tender! The lobster roll had some of the biggest portions of claw and tail meat I've ever seen! Server was friendly, however service was a little slow. That being said, there were 3 servers to wait on the whole establishment, outside being the most packed

The fish and chips were fresh and delicious. Plus you have a great view of the boats on the water. Everything came out quickly and the servers were very warm.

You know when you're asked "if you were on death row, what would you your last meal be?"... well, my answer used to be steak, potatoes, and green beans. Now, after eating what I consider one of my all time best meals ever, my answer will be "Dead Eye Dick's ribeye with their fingerling potatoes and mixed greens". That ribeye was full of flavor- an explosion of heaven in every bite. Due to my extensive list of allergies including shellfish, they baked it to avoid cross contamination. It had a charred taste on the outside followed by a deep savory mix of perfectly prepared meat. It wasn't dry at all, and at the risk of sounding cliche "it melted in my mouth" (if meat can even do that!). The fingerling potatoes and mixed greens complemented the ribeye perfectly. It was a large portion so I shared with my friends, and surprisingly I still I had some left over. Our server, Alex Jackson, went above and beyond in accommodating my dietary needs while meeting my friends' requests for shellfish as well (do they want me to get sick ??? lol) Their food was brought out separately. He also made sure we had enough drinks and asked us if we needed anything a few times. This seaside restaurant overlooking New Harbor in Block Island boasts spectacular views, exceptional service, and outstanding food. The interior is tastefully decorated. It is a bit pricier than some other restaurants on the island, but it is worth every penny. P.S. The modern styled bathrooms are very clean which is much appreciated after visiting several establishments on the island which desperately need updating.

I honestly don't even know where to begin. Everything I tasted at Dead Eye Dicks's was incredible. For me, the stars of the show were the cocktails and this unbelievable lobster truffle Fettucini. I ate every last bite. The flavor is rich and comforting - and the lobster - wow. It's not all claws so you get the meat of the tail and it's just ‍ . The island fog was delightful. So delightful I had two. Strong like a cocktail should be, but we'll-crafted with other flavors. I highly recommend if you go to block island!

We came here because some locals say that DED's is the best restaurant in town. THERE IS NO FRIED FOOD MENU, to the dismay of my dining partner. She wanted fried shrimp, so our server asked the chef to make that as a special request. It came out hot and crispy, and my friend enjoyed it a lot. I ordered the hot lobster roll, which came with a side of sriracha butter sauce. I dipped my lobster in it and put some on my roll. It was so good. TIP: Squeeze some lemon on both the sauce and lobster for a fantastic flavor boost. Both orders came with fries, made from fresh-cut potatoes. They were hot, crunchy and tasty, and a dip in ketchup made them taste even better. This restaurant is only a five minute taxi ride from the ferry. There were shops nearby the restaurant, but they were closed because it is early season. The season kicks off in June when fishermen start catching striped bass, which is the island's signature fish. Tourists from all over the world come to Block Island, just to have some. My dining partner and I plan to return to DED's later on this summer to see how they prepare striped bass.

Good place with good food with nice views. There are three seating options here: inside, outside on the deck, or on the grass. On the deck it was. We found it to be a little cooler and breezier then the grass. Starting out with the cocktail, the Sailor's Painkiller. Mount gay rum, coconut, pineapple, topped with nutmeg. Absolutely refreshing and outstanding! We tried two of the lunch sandwiches. The first was the swordfish ruben. It comes on marble bread and is very lightly toasted. The flavor was OK. The sandwich was decent. Beside the swordfish you get coleslaw and Russian dressing. More dressing and better toasted would have made this sandwich much better. The second sandwich was the tuna melt. Likewise, it comes on a toasted marble bread. That too comes with coleslaw on the sandwich. If it's not coleslaw, it's some sort of green. Either way, it has for a nice flavor. Again, if the bread was better toasted it would make the experience a bit better. The sandwiches come with fries. We asked if there are other options we were offered a side salad. It was a good call, the vegetables were fresh and the dressing was outstanding. By the way, this is a $2 charge for a salad substitute. Overall pleased with the experience.

Dead eye Dick's is a treasure tucked away! We had an assortment- the Spoon Tuna was unbelievable! I was skeptical about the Fried Prawn Chips, but this was amazing. We had been excited for the lobster roll, it was ok. The fish Rueben however was fabulous. This is a spot to go to and enjoy sitting on the lawn for drinks or food and enjoying the boats passing by.

We stopped in for lunch on our recent Block Island trip. I did enjoy my lobster roll, I opted for warm with butter and the roll came toasted which was a standout for sure! Seems like a great spot being right on the water, with an enclosed deck for water views and the servers were attentive.

Heard about Dead Eye Dicks while reading a blog post on Block Island and I'm very glad they recommended it! They had really unique dishes that were also incredibly tasty. I ordered the vegetarian Bánh mì and it was delicious! I also tasted the lobster roll which, though it was equally appetizing, was a bit overpriced and not worth the high cost. Would still highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Block Island! The service was quite fast and the waitress was very kind and attentive!

We always go to Dead Eye Dicks for lunch when on Block Island. Great view and great vibe from the staff. A must is Swordfish Rueben. The view of the New Harbor is always great.

Great views on the patio and the food was so delicious. We had a hard time deciding what to get and boy did we make the right choices. Service was nice.

We made reservations for 5:30 pm, arrived a little early, and they seated us right away. We started with cocktails, and complimentary bread arrived shortly after. For appetizers, we ordered the brussel sprouts, octopus, and lamb lollipops. The brussel sprouts were my personal favorite, but everything was outstanding. For our entrées, we had the halibut, scallops, and bouillabaisse. The halibut was absolutely incredible and my favorite, though every dish was delicious and beautifully prepared. We finished with the key lime tart. It's on the smaller side, so if you're sharing with more than two people, I'd recommend ordering a couple of different desserts. We sat in the enclosed patio style dining room, which had large windows, gorgeous views, and lots of natural light. It felt like you were dining outside while still being indoors. They also have a more intimate indoor dining room with low lighting and a cozy ambiance. One of the coolest features is the open kitchen, where you can watch the chefs prepare food. Our waiter was fantastic! He was attentive, took the time to answer all of our questions, and even helped us narrow down our dinner choices when we couldn't decide. We'll definitely be back the next time we're on Block Island. Highly recommend!

They work in front of basically half the tables and always keep their cool. With as busy as they are, they don't have an enormous menu and I feel that it's better that way. I'm not sure how often they change the menu as the online page showed slightly different meals. The wait staff are plentiful and it's rather amazing how well they keep up. The way my family and I were treated upon arrival was extremely disappointing. The male host was unnecessarily disrespectful and unwelcoming from the moment we walked in, despite us being polite and having every intention of dining there. After getting a reservation online and returning, the female host/manager was also a little rude and dismissive toward us at first. That only added to the uncomfortable atmosphere we felt. Even the bartenders didn't acknowledge us. Staff would catch eye contact with us and just keep going. Thankfully, the experience improved once we were seated. Our waiter (Cam) was genuinely kind, professional, and attentive throughout the meal, and the food itself was excellent. The chefs clearly know what they're doing, because every dish was prepared beautifully and tasted amazing. It's unfortunate that such strong food and service from the waitstaff are overshadowed by the poor attitude at the front of the restaurant. A little basic respect and hospitality toward guests would make a huge difference. Growing up in the hospitality service (restaurant) then working in retail to aviation. We're all taught from the beginning. A person walks in, greet them with a smile and let them know you'll be with them shortly. Not ignore them then to be slightly rude. We all understand being busy. But don't take it out on the customers. Especially when they didn't cause your stress. I'm giving them a high score because Cam and the chefs were amazing. Even the chefs said goodnight to us and thanked us.

Instead, you wait in line and order at the bar and they bring it to your table number. If you're looking for a fancy dinner, this isn't the place, but if you're looking for an option in between cheap and nice, this is the place. My boyfriend got the mac n cheese which was $16 (perhaps a little pricey). He said it wasn't very cheesy but personally I like it like that! I ordered the salmon and asked for just farro and corn instead of the succatash and goat cheese and all that, but they didn't bring any farro. I then asked for it and the guy asked me if I ordered it. I said yes, I know I did, and he said he'd go check, but he never came back. After 10-15 minutes I went to find the guy I asked and he seemed confused. He said "I couldn't find her" and I didn't know what he meant, but apparently he was looking for the girl who took my order? I guess to validate that I hadn't asked them to remove the farro? Very odd. A nice employee at the bar told him to just get me some farro (because it's really not that big of a deal) and he brought me a cold small plastic cup of unseasoned farro (pictured). Whole thing struck me as very odd and a little annoying. The dish was $29 which also felt a little expensive, especially without a big portion, but it's definitely more affordable than other places on the island. Overall, great view, but the rest of our experience was meh!
