SquareTradeGo is a separate website and service, which is for SCREEN REPLACEMENTS ONLY for old phones (the website shows only iPhone 5-7's and Galaxy 5-7's) and appears to offer flat, fixed repair costs to compete with local repair shops and places like the Applestore who do similar out of warranty screen repairs $129-149. At first, they told me it was a pilot program only available in FL and CA, even though I told him the SquareTradeGo website already let me book an appointment in NYC! He put me on hold, then came back talking about deductibles $25-149, telling me the program was only for existing customers with a warranty, or that I'd have to FIRST sign up and pay $8.99/mo, then a $25 deductible PLUS $69-119+ for a 2-5 year old phone! This makes no sense whatsoever and I'm convinced no one at SquareTrade knows what they're talking about because they're only used to dealing with Warranty Claims and don't even know this program exists! I hung up each time, called back to get someone else, and have now spoken to 4 different people at SquareTrade, all over India and the Phillipines, through chat and 877-927-7268. They just keep asking me over and over again about my warranty and where I purchased it! They all put me on hold because they clearly had no idea about it (the last 2 even checked with their managers and gave me the same BS). I do not HAVE a SquareTrade Warranty. Isn't that the whole purpose of this "Go" program??? Am I supposed to book an appointment, with a quoted price, then have someone show up, and tell me I don't qualify because I don't have a warranty? WTF?? Glad to hear people had luck with it.... I'm not signing up for a repair until someone at SquareTrade can tell me the correct information and confirm I do NOT need a SquareTrade warranty to use it, then I will update this from a 1 star review.

Mine was difficult to remove from the laptop as I inadvertently left it on, and I think the sun baked it on a bit. It would be nice if the shop would simply remove their sticker upon pick up.

I had relied on this business not only for my personal computers, but also for computers used at a company where I previously worked. I use my computer mainly for everyday tasks such as email, internet browsing, Word, and Excel. When it became necessary to replace my computer, I was recommended an older Mac running Linux Mint. During our discussions, I repeatedly heard negative comments about Microsoft and Apple, while Linux Mint was strongly promoted. However, I felt that more emphasis was placed on the advantages of Linux Mint than on understanding my actual needs and intended use. The following day, I spoke with the owner and told him that I intended to purchase the computer. During that conversation, I was informed for the first time that the screen had a yellow tint. Because of that, I said that I wanted to see the computer in person before making a final decision. However, when I arrived at the store, my data had already been transferred to the computer. Since I do not have a technical background, I felt uncomfortable deciding not to purchase a computer that already contained my personal data, so I went ahead with the purchase. After I started using the computer, I experienced several issues: * Frequent internet connection problems * A keyboard that did not function properly * Excessive heat from the computer (it became noticeably hot within about 10 minutes of startup, even when no applications were being used) When I reported the overheating issue, I was told that it was normal for the computer to get hot. When I explained that the keyboard was not functioning properly, I was told that the keyboard was "working." However, I did not consider the computer to be functioning normally for regular use. In addition, many files in my Documents folder were missing after the data transfer. I was told that the cause was the failure of my original computer. However, other data was transferred successfully, and as a result, I lost many document files from my Documents folder. The owner ultimately accepted the return of the computer. However, the data transfer fee became another point of disappointment. I was initially told that the fee would be reduced to $40 because I had been a long-time customer. After I returned the computer, I was charged $75 and told that the discount had only applied if I purchased the computer. What disappointed me most was not the computer itself, but the way the situation was handled afterward. Problems and mistakes can happen in any business. However, I did not feel that this situation was handled in a sincere or customer-focused manner. As someone who had trusted and used this business for many years, the experience was extremely disappointing.
