While one might associate the men and women who do towing of vehicles in a negative light, let me…read moredispose you of that notion. The muffler fell out of my car earlier this week. Talk about inconvenient. It was laying on the ground but after it cooled, I was able to wrestle it off. Without the muffler, my Saturn sounded like a B52 and therefore undrivable. I immediately called AAA and was promised a tow within 30 minutes. In less time than that, up comes a clean car carrier from Henry's Towing and Mark, the driver. Clean, neat, courteous and polite. He drove my car onto his flatbed and off we went. I drove with Mark in his truck cab. What? No trash? No coffee cups? No, just like you'd keep your home. It was just a tow but done with no pressure and complete efficiency. Mark and I shook hands at the end. Losing your car temporarily is always a chore but if it has to be loaded to a repair shop, Mark and Henry's Towing is a good first bet.

My car was towed for street sweeping; this was my fault, and I can accept that. When I went to retrieve it, I made some complaints about the driver's behavior and was completely brushed off. I continued to voice my complaints and at that point the younger man working made a literal death threat. (The older man was fine, albeit dismissive of the problem) I don't want to hear anything about 'boys being boys' or any of that type of nonsense. You do NOT make threats to anyone, no matter how frustrating you find them. I filed a police report but likely it will be ignored as all these type of interactions are. I feel very unsafe now because this person literally knows where I live. I am posting this as a warning to anyone who has to deal with them. I would welcome contact from the owner of the company, if any other employee attempts to contact me, I will call the police.

I needed paper work for a car that my friend had towed to a lot owned by Smitty's Towing and…read moresubsequently was sent to a scrap yard. He needed the signed title and a bill of sale for the RMV. I called ahead to confirm they knew about the situation and to learn what they would have to do in reference to the scrap yard. The two people I spoke with on the phone were very polite and informative. I understood ahead of arriving exactly how they would complete my tasks. When I showed up at Smitty's Towing, the two female employees and male employee were friendly, extremely accommodating, they explained the process, and offered advice regarding the number plates. At one point I had to call my friend and the man spoke with him regarding some details. And they were able to fill out the necessary paper work without first delivering it to the scrap yard. So, I my entire time there was minimized. When I left, one of the females offered to open the door for me since I was on crutches, and she wished me a quick recovery. Great people to interact with and deal with to get an important job done. I cannot say enough positives about the employees and the entire awesome experience.

That was a very good experience, but what made me want to return was the conversation I had with the guy who did the inspection. He told me that he'd worked at other auto repair shops, but had never been treated as well as he was treated at Murphy's. That told me all I needed to know. So when I needed scheduled maintenance on my car, I made an appointment at Murphy's. When I called, the person had all my info in his system (because of the inspection sticker). Scheduling was easy, and I dropped the car off this morning. They called me with an estimate, and told me my front brakes would need to be replaced next time, but it wasn't necessary for today. He told me everything that needed to be done per the scheduled maintenance for my car, and I asked him to go ahead and do that. I'd dropped the car off at 8am, and by 1:30pm, all was complete. The charge was very reasonable, I picked up the car, and all was great. I would absolutely go there again.
