Things have changed since I renewed my license pre-pandemic. I figure it was due to the pandemic, but now you have to make an appointment to renew your license, whether at the RMV or at AAA (appointments open two weeks out) if you are a triple A member. You can renew your license anytime within a year of expiration, but we hadn't realized that in time. Fortunately, dad and I are AAA members so we had this additional option, since you can no longer just walk into the RMV and hope to be fit in like I had on my birthday once. But we managed to find an appointment at Framingham for "tomorrow" that another member must have cancelled. This was after checking our relatively more local AAA offices 3x that evening. The service, quality of information , & patience with my questions, was above and beyond. Over the phone. She spent over a half hour talking with me to set up a new account after 22 years off of my mother's. It was sad to see my account go from 22 to 0. But that's a me problem. She was wonderful. Another 5 stars for AAA Framingham. Framingham covid cases are on the rise and I was dreading heading over for my license renewal. They did a great job enforcing social distancing and cleaning measures that put me at ease. The wait was minimal. Highlights: - By appointment only. Masks and distancing enforced - wait outside to check in at designated 6ft markers - check in at desk and assigned to 1 of 3 chairs that are distanced - in between each customer appointment they cleaned counter spaces, eye testing machine and payment pad - large plexiglass and faux-wall between RMV area Thank you AAA for a positive experience! read more

I have never given a poor review in my life. I have to say this was the worst service! I needed my trailer moved. Memorial weekend and my mechanic was closed. I needed to move my trailer. It's not registered I haven't had to because it is old and has been on the same property for years. I called AAA. I explained the situation and the agent said I needed the trailer membership. Ok fine Done. The agent asked if there was something wrong to tow the trailer and I said yes. Tail light Broken Etc. I was told I would get a call in 2 hours. After 2:15 hours. I called back. The agent told be I was flagged? As I wasn't telling the truth. Then she told me the trailer needed to be registered. I told her the previous agent didn't mention this to be a problem. Otherwise I would have done it myself as I knew this as an issue. Besides the time spent the women was beyond rude! And hung up on me when I told her wow terrible the derives was! wow. I still love AAA.I have been a member for 30+ years and customer service is top notch. not in Framingham! read more

I have AAA premier, and with 4 service calls this year, I am not qualified to get free service anymore . However, on 2 calls in Framingham, the one affiliated garage, Henry's towing refused to come out. Does that count as a legitimate call? I called the Acton , MA branch because that's where I live, and I was redirected to 1-800- AAA- Help, and I had a very frustrating, time wasting time with some sone insufferable reps. With 3 calls, they never even gave me a chance to explain anything. I just called AAA a 3rd time, I asked if they can hear me , they said yes, so I can began to explain why I was calling, and the "CUSTOMER SERVICE REPPRESENTATIVE "interrupted me and said how may I assist ? and I started to speak and she hung up on me. This is 3rd time I got hung up on in one hour at the beginning of the call for no reason. I need a battery, and because of your nasty people on the front lines, I may never get one or explain why. Woefully understaffed. The staff is nice but they are not prepared to deal with more than 3 people at a time. Make sure you have hours to spend waiting. Staff is constantly interrupting the one person who is working the RMV. Also this is a Thursday at 10am. Update at 11:12. Line to get a number to wait again is now 14 deep. Something has happened and now the only person working the RMV desk has been on the phone with the registry for 10 minutes. This guy has a suspended license. You have a line make him leave. Will be leaving and come back when. I have more time to spend. Or just to the RMV and remove the middle man. read more

Stopped in for passport photos. It was late afternoon and the traffic on Rt 9 was stop and go. There was a steady bunch of people going in and out of AAA. I was worried about lines, but shouldn't have been. Someone was there to help me right away. The longest wait was for the printer - which is kinda slow- takes about a minute for the photos to print. Staff was friendly. Apologetic for the slow printer. I was out and on my way in 5 minutes! Happy!! read more

A great place to have so close to home. Certainly worth the yearly membership fee to be able to use the services and features of this location. They also have RMV services which makes renewing your license a breeze. I came here to exchange currency and get my license renewed. The staff are friendly but oftentimes overwhelmed and understaffed. If you have something in mind (especially RMV services), try and get here 15 minutes before they open so you can be one of the firsts. Highly recommend. Great place. read more

Went here to renew my drivers license and the entire process went seamlessly and quickly. I had made an appointment in advance and they took me right on time. The whole process took less than 10 minutes and was far more convenient than dealing with the RMV ( Registry of Motor Vehicles ) directly. read more

Worst experience ever. Bought a washer that wasn't working right from the start. Refused to do anything and told me to reach out to the warranty for the company. This is 2 days after I purchased what was supposedly a brand new top of the line unit. Had to stop payment to get a call back after a month of asking them for help. This is since March. Owner literally called me on the phone screaming at me for stopping payment. Do not patronage this shop. Entire middle piece to the machine had to be ordered and this store will not stand behind their own products. read more

I stopped by this AAA branch today to get my passport photo taken. The service is free to AAA members, and I was helped & had photos in hand within 10 minutes! My Mother-in-law is taking me & my husband to France this summer. (I know I'm very lucky to have in-laws who I get along with.) I mentioned my destination to the AAA clerk, and she handed me a free AAA guidebook on France. This branch also has RMV services and a full travel agency, so I can see it being useful to me in the future too. They have 2 separate lines, one for those who need the RMV, and one for AAA services, so the lines move fairly quickly. read more

Need to get your Mass Driver's License or Registration renewed? Well now you can do it at the AAA office! I went in to get a map and saw the office had changed and now there are two lines so I asked and found out that now as a AAA "member" you can get your drivers license and/or registration renewed. They won't do any new ones but whoa this is a big plus ever since the local motor vehicle office closed. So check to see if your local AAA office is on the list. There is a full RMV Branch on the Mass Pike at the Natick Eastbound Service Center in Natick too. I am guessing AAA membership will be growing! I've always found the cost of the membership worth it. The cost easily pays for itself in free maps, free passport pictures, tour books for vacations, discount tickets (I got the cheapest tickets to SeaWorld and Busch Gardens I could find), hotels, restaurants, towing and more. When I've broken down the cost of the towing would have been way more than the cost of the membership. The people in the office have always been nice and you can sign your kids up for a free membership too. I didn't know this until I needed to get passport photos for them which was also free. Now the kids get a monthly newsletter with lots of cool savings and info and our family membership applies to them too. read more

My license expired last month, so I went down to the Boston registry The people were herded like cattle with a 2 hour wait. It is a rough place and not the best experience to say the least There is a much better way...you will not believe who simple this is AAA offices in Mass and Rhode Island have registries inside them. I came here to renew my license and transfer it over to a real ID. The whole process was extremely easy and as long as you've done the forms beforehand it should be very stress free. All of the workers were very kind and knowledgeable no matter what question I had. This was so much easier than going to the RMV. The whole process took about 15 minutes and I couldn't be more thankful I went here instead of waiting hours at the RMV. If you go during weekdays there isn't a long wait and if you're prepared the process should be even shorter. read more

Two stars simply because one nasty employee has ruined this office for me. I wish I caught her name. She is an older woman who both times I have been there was working at the front center desk, and it is as if she tried to be as rude and downright insulting as possible. Last time I went in for a passport picture, there were two lines of customers for two different services. However, no signage indicating which line was for what. I approached her counter where she was speaking with a customer, hoping to catch her eye and ask which line I should wait in. I said "excuse me" twice and was ignored. After about a minute of waiting, she turned to me and yelled (yes yelled, raising her voice) "this is a private conversation, you need to be waiting in line." I started to reply "which line should I be in for a passport photo" but was interrupted before I could finish with more yelling "I'm with a customer, you need to wait your turn." Since one line ran right next to her desk, I actually only moved two feet away to "get in line" and avoid their apparently private conversation which they were having in front of the 20 waiting customers. I left after a minute of waiting when I realized how ridiculous the situation was and went next door to Walgreens for my photo. I will never return to this location solely because I never want to deal with that woman again. It would really be in this location's best interest to hire some more staff, and ensure the staff are suited to be working in a customer service position. read more

The most painless driver's license renewal ever! It was finally time to get a new driver's license photo with my most recent renewal, so sadly using the RMV's online services was a no-go. Searching for any alternative to actually visiting an RMV location, I discovered that this AAA completed many RMV services including driver's license renewals. Working in this area a few times a month, I popped in during lunch hours expecting a few minutes wait. Upon entering the building, they've set up signage indicating that AAA services are to the left, while RMV services are to the right. The area was staffed by one very kind young lady, and there was NO LINE to speak of. Immediately, I was content with my decision to visit AAA (and also thinking that the membership more than paid for itself given the maintenance of my sanity). New picture? Check. Chance for a retake? You betcha (though declined to do so - I'll live with it). Friendly interaction while renewing your license? You betcha. This is a super convenient location, though parking lot traffic can get interesting given the proximity to Starbucks and Whole Foods. read more

Came to renew a Drivers License. The wait was much too long, nearly three quarters of an hour, while the few AAA staff at the counters were repeatedly interrupted by other AAA personnel, thereby delaying those already lucky enough to have some assistance. As I finally got to the counter I had to wait for the AAA person for an extended period while she spoke with another person behind the counter on an unrelated matter without apology, as if that was standard business procedure to make customers wait. Not sure which is worse, the AAA office or the RMV office. read more

I just don't like to go into a Registry office. Not happy or friendly people there. I am a AAA member and had been in the Framingham office before regarding a car rental in Las Vegas. I remembered seeing the registry service sign and since my license was coming due for renewal in November, stopped in. What a treat. Except for the line and filling out the form, nice friendly agent did the eye test, took the form, gave me my temp copy after taking yet another bad picture. Just such a better experience than dealing with the state. A word of advice: fill out the form ahead of time. The place is clean and you can even book a trip to India if you're so disposed. read more

Went to renew my license, I was in and out in literally under 10 minutes (8 to be exact). Fast, friendly, courteous service how can you go wrong. The place is clean and quit it was great as opposed to going to the RMV. You need to be a AAA member but honestly the service for the RMV and travel are WELL worth the price. read more

This branch really came through for me when I needed to renew my registration but had registry holds. Of course, you have to get the holds cleared first, which I did, but the instructions from the RMV were confusing about the form required from my insurance agent, which is AAA. Because I am a AAA member I was able to renew the registration right there as well as my membership, saving me an hour and-a-half trip dealing with a RMV branch. All and all a task that I thought would take the entire morning took about 15-20 minutes. AAA rocks! read more

Joined AAA so I could use their registry service and avoid the RMV - big mistake. Needed to move registration from summer car to winter car so I went to AAA this morning early to be the 1st in line. Got there 10 minutes before they open. Some old hag was out front smoking (turned out to be an AAA employee), tossed her cigarette butt on the sidewalk, then went in past me - I asked if I could wait in the lobby since it was cold out. "No - we are still opening the joint" she coughed as she locked the door behind her. When they finally opened, I went to the registry desk and they said they can't swap plates between cars. I told them they have done it before, but they couldn't figure out how to do it. So I went over to the customer service desk to cancel my AAA membership. Get this - they were going to charge me $10 to cancel! On what planet is that normal? I asked her if she was even listening to herself! Crazy! Totally irrelevant organization! My mistake for joining. Frankly, the people at AAA are even more incompetent than the Mass RMV employees - I din't even think that was possible! read more

Whoops, my license expired yesterday. According to the RMV website, my options for license renewal were a rest stop on the Pike, the AAA office in Framingham (members only) or a 30 minute drive to Watertown. I wasn't already a member of AAA, but I'd had a membership in the past and thought it was worth the money, so I decided to sign up for AAA online (googled and found a promo code on a message board post from 2007 that somehow miraculously took $34 off my membership price) and then head in to the office to their RMV office. Here's a tip I learned while I waited: if you go this RMV location and you're not a member, they'll let you join AAA right then and waive the $15 enrollment fee. While I was waiting I saw 2 people choose to do this rather than head out to the Pike. You fill out your paperwork (or you can do it online and print it to bring in) and then check in at the RMV desk on the left. The desk on the right is just for AAA services. Both desks are staffed by AAA employees. Once you've checked in and they look over your paperwork, you have a seat and they call you by name to come get your picture taken/eyes checked/money taken. There were a couple people in line ahead of me who got turned away once they got called back- I know one was trying to change her name on her license. I suggest using the RMV's website to know exactly what services this branch offers before heading in. Overall it was a pretty quick procedure. I walked in with my paperwork already printed out and was back out on the street within 15 minutes, with only a few folks ahead of me in line. I also picked up a map for $2.13 for an upcoming vacation. I'd highly recommend this RMV branch to anyone who has AAA. And heck... I recommend AAA too! read more

I came here recently to have my passport photo taken, and they were so nice! There was a short line when I came in and things seemed to move quickly. The woman who helped me informed me about AAA membership benefits but definitely didn't pressure me to sign up, which I appreciated since I was only there for one simple thing. She chatted with me throughout the whole process and took my picture several times to make sure that I was happy with the final pick. Definitely would recommend coming here to have something done, even if you're not a AAA member (which I was uncertain about before I came in). read more
