I haven't had any extensive work done here, but I really like the attitudes and service I've had here so far. They are quick, friendly and importantly have never pressed for additional work or "extras". I trust them to do routine maintenance (like oil changes) much more than a Grease Monkeys-type of place. If you're looking for a neighborhood place they seem to be a good option. PS- have had more work done here now (unfortunately!). Had an alternator die and had a hose leak, and they've always been quick to fix it and charged a reasonable price for good work. I've twice left for under $50, which is amazing. Definitely knowledgable and honest. I've had my oil changed here 6-7 times and again never a problem. read more

Tim is literally the best -- and most honest -- mechanic in Denver. He's stupid-busy and it's difficult to get an appointment, but he's kind, honest and does impeccable work. read more

The mechanics at this business are AMAZING! Fair pricing, honest, expertise, will not do work unless it needs to be done, quick, great customer service. The owner Tim and his team are well worth the drive! read more

Great service, prices, and communication! Thank you Tim! The other guys in there are very nice as well.

Excellent customer service and quality work. Supporting the neighborhood business is very important. Let's keep them near!

Yep..me again. I love this place. Tim is by far the best mechanic, person, businessman I will NEVER take my car anywhere else. EVER. read more

Tim did a great job doing a ton of stuff on my ancient SUV. He was straight to deal with, the work was done well and the price was fair. I'm happy to have Tim & Co. as my family's go-to mechanic. read more

Great Service. Knowledgable mechanics. I put about 30k miles on my car annually, and I don't trust any other mechanics with the work. Tim and his crew are amazing. read more

Excellent fast reasonably priced service by nice people! Been going there for many years. Bill C.

Took our classic car into Tim at Conoco on S Downing. I needed a tune up and tire rotation. He squeezed me in and did an excellent job. Especially when trying to find filters for a rare model. Thanks Tim and team!! Awesome service read more

Absolutely love these guys. My worried 86 year old father in law has been taking his car in there for several years he and always thinks it needs work. They just check his car and send him away happy telling him it doesn't need any work, without any charges. This got me to finally start using them for oil changes and some work on my 98 Wrangler and 2016 4runner. Super reasonably priced and honest, I won't go anywhere else now. read more

Tim and his crew too GREAT care of me and my 2011 VW golf. His business is clearly one built on integrity and the belief that providing fair, quality service is how you build a loyal customer base. So grateful. Tim has worked on my friends car as well and she feels the same. read more

Great service! Tim is very good mechanic who fixes what's wrong and won't try to scam you into buying a bunch of extra parts that your car doesn't need. read more

Pulled in on a snowy night 2/24/2021. Heavy snow around 730 pm and pulled up to a pump. Say in my car and gathered my things. When a man came and knocked on my window. I hesitantly waited and he just stood there. Said nothing just stared. I didn't see a Conoco logo or nothing. Just all black hat and jacket. As a woman I refused to open my door. I screamed thru the window, " can I help you!?" He pointed at the pump. I still did not understand. He just kept pointing at the pump. So, I sat there. And he finally started to say something. Which was " did I need full service gas?" I said no. He told me I couldn't get gas there. So I drove away and ran out of gas less than a 1/4 of a mile down the road in a full sow storm. Conoco had FULL SERVICE ONLY gas stations? I've lived in Colorado my entire life. Now I'm out of gas and in the snow. Thanks Conoco. read more

I chose this Conoco to get the oil changed on my Toyota because it's walking distance from my house. I won't be going back though. The service here wasn't great. I asked them to take a look at my brakes. When I go to pick up my car, the bill says "rotate tires". The explanation was, we just do that, it costs the same as a brake check. That's nice I guess, but shouldn't you check with the owner first? And no feedback on my brakes. I assume that means they are fine? And it was expensive! $45 for the oil change, another $20 for the brake check. A good receptionist/customer service person would make this shop a lot better. read more

I dropped my vehicle off on Wednesday afternoon, Tim called that evening with an estimate and I had my vehicle back on Thursday evening. They even saved the part to show me the problem and washed my car. Reasonably priced as well! Was very pleased with the service., read more

My "home" gas station...in addition to filling up the basic as, they have saved me a few times doing tire repairs.

Just by chance, Tim the mechanic is working at the south Downing street. He was in Littleton at South Broadway and he is the best mechanic I know. He will not tell you what you want to hear, he is honest and saved me thousands of dollars in the long run by telling me whats wrong and will work with you to fix your car or truck at a reasonable price. I totally recommend Tim and if he can't fix it then its time to buy a new car. Thanks for all you have done for me and our company trucks. Without Tim, i doubt we would sstill be in business. read more

Curt and his team are the most honest and courteous garage peeps around. They never try and push extras or guilt trip you into getting something you don't want. (like rhymes with schmeez mukeys do) read more

Most (I think all) of my other reviews are for places I've gotten to know fairly recently. South Downing Conoco, however, and specifically Curt, is a staple of my childhood. That guy was awesome to my family. My mom was a single mother raising a severely autistic boy, and me (arguably the worse hellion), and his shop was always a comfortable place for us to visit, and everyone has always been kind. He gave her honest deals on the most reasonably needed and well-planned car repairs, and always gave us great advice and extra information. I haven't seen him in years due to living in other parts of town, but now I'm close by again, and just arranged more work from him. He remembered my family and is his same old awesome self. I'm thrilled he's still doing his thing, and it's an honor to be one of his clients. I recommend his shop wholeheartedly. read more

Ripped Us Off! Charged $20 For Promised Free Estimate After The Fact! - - 2009-12-28 We took our car in for an estimate on a repair, stated to be free, and they gave us the estimate but would not give us the keys until we ponied up twenty dollars, a fee not mentioned anytime before or during the brief inspection. Watch these guys, they are sneaky, devious, and will get into your pocket for just looking at your car read more

The south Downing Conoco station is a few blocks away, great location and fair fuel prices. I swung in to fill up my vehicle and decided to get a car wash while there. Went through car wash and when I pulled out I stopped to check wash and happen to notice my vehicle was still dirty. No big deal, went into shop and asked if I could run it through again as it did not do a good job. Immediately kid behind counter was rude, peering through window with skepticism to look at truck all the while smoking a cig. At this point I am assuming he thought I was trying to scam a $7 wash.......... After I had already purchased one... I had to ask him to just come outside and take a look. When I asked if I could run it through again I was told I could and that he would charge me. After going back and forth for a few we then went inside and I was warned this would be the only time he would do this. It was clear to me at this point he was not the owner nor did he care about providing any customer service to a local who regularly fills a vehicle there 1-2 times per week. When asked if he was the owner the response was that of a 2 year old, "I don't have to answer any of your questions"... No, no you don't nor do not need to come back her either. As a business owner it was unfortunate to see such a blatant disregard for a customer. There are several other stations within a Mile that sell diesel and I am happy to give them my $120 per week. As a local to the neighborhood I would suggest that you find another station to spend your hard earned money. I would prefer no customer service than that of a rude punk kid who suffers from small man disease, who in addition doesn't understand the basic tenants of what it means to work for a business. Your boss, be it your dad or uncle relies on the surrounding community and that requires a reasonable amount of care for those that choose to visit his or hers establishment. read more

Tim does a great job and offers great information and advise. My battery was completely dead today today, and he got me in quickly, and changed the battery with a great savings over what the BMW dealer was charging. It is nice to have a mechanic you can trust, especially as a woman. read more

Worst mechanic ever! I stopped at this gas station a couple weeks ago to see if someone there could help me put a new batter in my key fob. Curits replaced my battery and then took it upon himself to go into my car and click the open door and lock button over and over again. He ended up putting my car in emergency lock down. He couldn't take it out of lock down mode. My car couldn't start and was completely dead. I ended up having to get my car towed to a garage that knows what they are doing! Worst of all he was SO rude to me because of his mistake he took it out on me!!!! $500 later I have a working car. Don't use him he's a scum bucket. read more

My family has taken their cars to Curt since the 80's. He is prompt, accurate, available and dedicated. I trusted him implicitly and still do. I would recommend him and his team every time -- I've never met a better or more honest mechanic. read more

I went to Curt and his team for anything during the 3 years I lived in Denver (2011-2014). Curt was always honest with me, did great work, and treated me well as a returning customer. The manner in which Curt gave me his advice/profession opinion always had a "father-daughter" characteristic to it, which majorly contributed to my trust in him as a girl seeking vehicle maintenance. As a customer, I prefer to be educated when making decisions about pricey services, and Curt was always patient and explained the "what, why, and how" of things when I asked. His staff was always nice as well and would follow-up when I requested it. If you are seeking auto services that values honesty and accountability, visit Curt and his team at South Downing Conoco! read more

Curt charged me $70 for four spark plugs - and then $40 for the labor. $110 to replace four spark plugs!!!???? He ripped me off -- I'm sure I haven't been the only one. read more

I was going to have them replace my starter until they increased the estimated cost by $100 bucks for a 97' starter instead of a 98'. Both of which are the exactly same part. So, basically they were trying to get 100 extra dollars out of me so I just took my car back and did it myself. Typical. read more

I was here on New Year's Eve at the nasty over priced gas station. I walked in side to use the bathroom like i deserve as a paying customer. The man say no it is out of order as the other employee was leaving the working bathroom. So i went across the street to a wonderful place called Little's Wine & Liquor. They said yes. Let me say, it was a lot nicer that that nasty place. So I only got 6 gallons and went 2 miles down the road to a Shell station. A higher quality of gas by the way and got non over priced fuel. The last time I go there. read more
