I wish I knew what the food tasted like. I moved in down the street from this establishment and I was so excited for a place nearby that I could get smoothies and bowls on my way to work. The hours on the door say they open at 9am, so the four times I've tried to stop by, I've gotten there at around 9:15-9:30am only to find that the place is NOT OPEN YET. It made me really angry that I made time to stop there, only to have it not be open when they said they would. If this happened once, I would say okay... maybe there was an emergency or they were just running late. However, this morning was the fourth time that this has happened. Management- if you are reading this, can you either change your opening time to properly reflect when you are actually opening, or simply actually open when you say you will? I've been to this location many times and this is the first time I've ever had a problem. My friend and I came in this afternoon and ordered acai bowls. After paying $13 (I asked for extra peanut butter on top), we were extremely displeased with what was presented to us. My friend's bowl wasn't even filled up all the way! Peanut butter was smeared on the side of the container. It looked awful. I couldn't believe how bad the presentation was! If this is the way they are going to be presented, I suggest you lower the prices. $13 for half a bowl of fruit. Ridiculous. Please do better. The Vienna South Block location is actually located in Jammin Java which is a cool place to hangout when in the mood for local music. Free parking in the front of storefront, which can be competitive in the plaza. The backstreets are your friend if you travel in the mornings as Maple Ave can have an heavy traffic flow. This location offers kombucha on tap, which is pretty tasty. When I can not travel into Arlington and East Falls Church locations, we will be sure to rock and juice here. read more

Love açaí bowls and southblock in general, but the people who work at this one specifically, more often than not, have no clue what they're doing. I go there once a week, and every time I order the same thing. When I first started going there I would ask for no bananas or granola since I'm allergic, and there were various instances where they would still put this ingredients in my açaí bowl. This could potentially be a detrimental mistake if someone is deathly allergic. I highly suggest that southblock employees at this southblock location, be better trained. Because of these issues, I have had to resort to ordering online. It seems like a good thing, and it can be quicker, but even if an açaí bowl is in the fridge it is still melted for the most part by the time I arrive. read more

This South Block is located in the front of the store as you walk in, with Jammin' Java in the back. They have limited hours and the menu is pretty small compared to the Arlington and Falls Church locations, e.g., they only had 3 bowl choices when I went. I ordered the Warrior Bowl and the cashier/barista/smoothie guy was both efficient and super nice. Fresh ingredients and a nice hefty portion. I live closer to the FC location, but given that the Vienna location has a dedicated parking lot and awesome customer service, I think I will continue to visit here! Note: I immediately received a "rewards" email from SB despite not giving them my email or being asked to sign up. Creepy, right? Apparently, it's taken directly from the credit card chip and the account holder is automatically emailed.... So, minus one star for the limited hours/menu and privacy intrusion, but still a good spot for a quick lunch or afternoon smoothie. read more

Simply amazing and worth the drive from Maryland! The Warrior Bowl was delicious! The Acai was blended with bananas, strawberries and pineapple juice and topped with Granola, fresh strawberries, blueberries and bananas. The fruit was sweet and perfectly ripe. I'll be back! read more

I loved this place. I came across their pictures on instagram and have had it bookmarked for over a month. The location is a little confusing and I was super agitated that when I called the number they said that they are no longer taking calls. I truly believe all businesses should have somebody answer the phone. I had to park my car, walk around and ask some locals for the exact location. I finally found it and it was situated in a place called jammin java? Apparently, it is a place for local artists to sing from what I recall. I ordered the warrior bowl and added coconut and almond butter. It was DELICIOUS. I have been dying to try an acai bowl and this really didn't disappoint. The granola was the best I have ever had and I don't even like granola so that is saying a lot. The acai mixture was not overly sweet and everything just tasted so fresh. I also sampled one of their fresh juices and it was unreal. I would definitely go back to try their stuff. Big thumbs up from me. read more

Never had a chance to see how the smoothies etc were because the guy who seemed be running the store at the time was a real jerk. I asked him a few questions politely and he had an attitude from the start - appeared to have a big chip on his shoulder about Jammin Java and how they are completely separated from them in every way. Not sure how a customer is supposed to know that their 1st time there since both establishments are within the same 4 walls, and it appeared to be a partnership of businesses. Anyway, good luck. It's a really rad place the feel is good and their acai bowls are really good I had the California bowl and I also ordered a chocolate cappuccino. The cappuccino was bland and not sweet thinking I would taste chocolate but it tasted like a regular cappuccino. There wasn't a good choice of seating and the service was poor, no connection to customers whatsoever. They seemed like it's a drag to be there so that's how it felt while I was there. I just went to the new South Block in Vienna and had a great experience all around. The staff was very friendly and attentive and was practicing good safety measures with masks and gloves. All patrons were wearing masks and following guidelines. I got two Smoothie bowls--the Caveman bowl and the Supergreen smoothie with ginger made into a bowl. I ate the Caveman bowl and it was delicious and very substantive with fresh ingredients like bananas and açaí and dates. My daughter had the green bowl which she loves and says is very refreshing. I also got a matcha latte and the barista did a great job with the espresso art. I will definitely be coming back again soon! read more

Yum, yum, yum but not the most comfortable. There are three long tables you can perch at, but the space is usually super cold / not very inviting. I wouldn't park here to study for hours, but definitely recommend it for a quick acai bowl/smoothie/juice break with friends.
