As for logistics, the couple of spots directly in front are usually full, but there is covered parking two blocks down. Our total for just two bowls came out to $32. I've had a couple acai bowl spots around the DMV area and just moved closer to Fairfax and decided to give this spot a try seeing that it kept popping up on my own Yelp recommended a few times. My cousin and I couldn't decide what to get so we opted for sweet and savory and got both an acai bowl and breakfast sandwich. We got the Brazillian bowl in medium size and the chipotle chicken flatbread to share. Both were the perfect size and had ample amount of toppings. Ingredients used are very fresh. What I like about this place compared to other acai bowl spots i've tried is that they have a lot more toppings in their pre-set menu. They are a little more generous on the fruit. Vibes: Senberry gives me to a beach town feel! It's nice to step into another space that feels so different than being in Fairfax. Ordering: The kiosks do not work well for ordering. It makes you choose toppings to add on otherwise it won't let you move to the next screen. I recommend ordering at the cashier, it's easier, and quicker too. Bowls itself: I've been there twice, and both times, the regular bowl have been enough for me. I really like their açaí bowls, and their fruit is fresh. Sometimes their bananas are frozen though. I will say, their peanut butter and Nutella stays in chunks and freezes in with the açaí so it makes it hard to mix in. I ordered without them the second time I went. Spoons: Also! Their spoons are located near the door! They don't give you any at the desk. Toppings: My fav toppings are: all the fruit (strawberry, banana, mango, blueberry), coconut flakes, chia pudding, drizzle of honey!! All their ingredients are fresh and delicious! I witnessed a family take the completely wrong order from another family and it's hard to tell bc they all look relatively the same. Old Town Fairfax has so many good places to visit. Senberry Bowls isn't far off from my work so this was a must visit when I found out they had Acaì bowls and Coffee. Two things that will convince me to spend money. I got the tropical acai bowl which features Organic Acai with granola, strawberries, bananas, coconut flakes, raw honey. It was really delicious and definitely a nice treat for me to have before heading home. The Honey Cinnamon Latte is pretty good too. Espresso, Raw Honey, Cinnamon Powder, and steamed milk all makes for an enjoyable drink. Why am I drinking this in the summer? That's a good question. The staff was friendly and the food and drinks came out quickly. I don't really have many complaints other than that there was no music playing so I ate in silence. Decided I wanted to get out of the house for a healthy snack. How could I resist a shop named after two of my favorite things? The store is currently set up coronavirus style, with no seating inside but taped X marks for where to stand. The nice thing about Ubar is they do have some seating outside and there are park style benches lining the sidewalks near their location so there are many places nearby to sit and enjoy your coffee and/or Acai. I wasn't ready for the numerous Acai bowl options and as they were busy ordered something that sounded interesting without really looking at the ingredients. The bananas and strawberries were super fresh, the granola hearty and crispy, and the Acai was the perfect frozen consistency and flavor... and I learned I don't like Nutella and peanut butter in my Acai bowls. Lol. Totally my fault for not taking the time to stare down the menu. But the great news is the goods are fresh; they're plentiful, and there are an amazing array of options for your bowl. On the drinks side they seemed to have the regular espresso options with a chai as well. They had numerous alternate milk options available. As I mentioned, they were busy. A family of 5 ordered Acai bowls and coffee ahead of me, and while I waited for my bowl they had 3 pick up orders and around 10 other people come in and order in person. It is lunchtime so this may be their normal rush. The lady behind the counter was by herself for a bit yet she was still very pleasant and patient with the kid who was slowly choosing what he wanted on his bowl. Exactly what we need for these times. We came on a Sunday morning- the service was fast, friendly, and lots of clean indoor and outdoor seating. The menu had a ton of options, which we appreciated, and lots of room for customization. Unfortunately, our açaí bowl was slightly disappointing. The açaí itself tasted overly saccharine and had an odd processed flavor. The fruit was also in smaller portions compared to other açaí bowl places we have visited. The berries were small and not sweet despite being peak summer berry season. Finally, the granola was not really granola- no clusters, and more like loose oats. The flavors overall did not go well together. We ordered a generic bowl, so perhaps it was a one off thing. We've been fans of this location for a couple of years; new name now but same great food and service! We try and call in ahead so we can grab and go, but even when we eat in the store the wait isn't too bad and reminds me just how fresh and made to order these açaí bowls are! Definitely my favorite açaí place and even better I can order and have it delivered to me when I'm too lazy to drive (first world problems). This place fills the healthy snack void in downtown! They offer a great selection of bowls at reasonable price points. The smallest one is $7 and you can really load it up. You start with bases like acai (but I prefer the matcha one) and then you can load them up with granola, fresh fruits, and even some decadent toppings like cacao nibs and Nutella. They also offer toasts (avo and otherwise) for some totally fair price points. The sell coffee, too, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. First off, I loovee acai bowls. I searched out the best ones during trips to each of the Hawaiian islands. I loved the fresh taste, the mix of fruit and coconut, the texture of perfect acai. I'm not a professional, but I definitely can appreciate a good acai bowl and know a sad one. That said, UBar is legit. Their bowls are amazing. Fresh toppings, delicious fruit, perfectly frozen acai, and a variety of other toppings. The service is wonderful, they ensure your bowl fits whatever you're in the mood for. The prices are great for what you get, even though they're a bit on the steel side. Kids could easily get a small bowl, adults medium or even large. Expect a good acai base, decent amount of granola and fruit, and other toppings you wish. Coconut is available raw, "normal", and toasted. Different but butters are available, as are seeds (pumpkin, chia, etc). I really, really hope they survive the COVID crisis and they maintain the service, quality, and uniqueness.
