Fairfax and Woodbridge locations have always been consistent when making their smoothies no matter who makes it. The smoothies have been thick and rich, which has made a perfect treat for snack or pleasure. The few that I've been into lately are the Mango Ginger, Veggie Carrot Kale Dream, and Vegan Dark Chocolate Banana. I'll be switching it up soon! The Chantilly Smoothie King is my go-to when I know I will not have time to eat a meal or when I'm just in the mood for a smoothie. I bring up Chantilly b/c they're customer service & smoothie taste is consistent & always on point. I'd give it a 5-stars if I were reviewing it. The Fairfax location is different. The menu is outdated, so it's a challenge ordering. I tried to order the Hulk w/strawberry flavor, and substitute the weight gain for an equivalent enhancement like multivitamin or immune support; typically Chantilly location can handle this order without question, but fairfax will not substitute this enhancer for equivalents, but only other proteins. I figured Smoothie King policy across the board was the same, but either it varies by location, or Chantilly workers finessed my order every time. I usually tip anyway, so it's much deserved. read more

Man Ohhh Man!! Who doesn't like a delicious refreshing and healthy smoothie! Especially now that its getting warmer, the smoothies here will hit the spot more then ever. Smoothie King is my go to spot for all my smoothie cravings. They have humongous cups, so you will never finish your cup saying, "dang I want some more." The staff here are also awesome, whenever they have extra leftovers that they can't fit in your cup, they always put the remainder in a small cup for you. What a kind thing to do right? Every time I come here I always get the gladiator shake. This shake come with the gladiator protein and your choice of 2 fruits. The shake is very healthy and is packed with about 40 grams of protein, little to no fat, and of course carbs from the fruits. Very delicious and can come with endless combinations. Smoothie King is definitely the best smoothie place, well out of all the places I've tried. So until I find a better spot, this is my go to spot. Stopped in for a treat on my way home and what I got was NOT a treat. I ordered a pineapple smoothie with some strawberries. It was the color of a pink crayon mixed with gray which was totally unappealing.They were pumping some clear liquid out of a big jug that was not labeled. My daughter thought it was liquid sugar but we asked and it was water. Why would they need to add water when the add a ton of ice? I don't think health codes allow for liquids to be kept in unmarked containers. I took the drink and straw and left. I took a sip while waiting at the light out of the parking lot and was so grossed out by what I had just tasted, I turned around and went back to the store. My daughter got her drink and said it was not very good but she wanted to keep it. I asked for a refund and was informed by the worker that she did not know how to give refunds. Another guy walked over and he didn't know either. Finally, she said she would cancel out my transaction for the two smoothies and then charge me for the one we kept. This did not happen... just as I suspected would happen... note: she would not give me a copy of the receipt... I checked my bank account the next day and I was DOUBLE CHARGED. She did not cancel out the transaction like she said she would and then charged me again. I have called but have not received any solution so I have to now call my bank and dispute the charge. This whole experience was a huge waste of time and I will NOT return. I really enjoy Tropical Smoothie Cafe which will remain my go to place. read more

Drove around the parking lot for 10 minutes trying to find the store because the staff turned off the giant neon sign 15 minutes before close. Finally find it and walk up to the door, where the Open sign is still lit and the door's locked. I knock on the window and point to the open sign and the boy inside shrugs and walks away. Wall-to-wall protein and other almost entirely useless supplements along with the teeny-bopper gym rats at the counter, lands this place onto the low side of my rating scale. Not to mention the prices. When Tropical Smoothie Cafe will give you a 24 oz. smoothie for $4.79, why would anyone pay around $2.50 more for a smaller size? Yes...fine...most of the smoothies at Smoothie King have supplements already added, and Tropical Smoothie makes you pay more for them, but still, what about when you don't want whey protein, immune boosters, or energizers? Will they reduce the price? I'll be sticking with Tropical Smoothie from here on out when I want a sippable treat. I like choosing when I do and don't want to waste my money. read more

I gave a 3.5 rating. Supplied with supplement powders such as ginkgo biloba and protein, this place is good for a quick pick-me-up. I usually order a medium angel food (strawberry-banana) smoothie mixed with energy supplement. It usually does the trick. Although, it is very expensive (8 bucks for the aforementioned smoothie). If you are a calorie counter watch out, a 20oz. cup contains 75 grams of sugar... Sometimes if you are lucky, they poor the remaining smoothie that can't fit in your smoothie cup in a little shot container so you get more bang for your buck. Really depends on who is working there on a particular day. read more

Smoothie King by far provides the best tasting smoothies of any other chain I have been to, including Tropical Smoothie and Robeks. The texture of their smoothies are so much smoother than other grainy/pulpy smoothies I've tried at other competitors, and I believe have a better taste in general due to their usage of turbinado sugar. My favorites are some of their strawberry/banana-based options, which include the Angel Food and Power Punch Plus, which has a refreshing vanilla undertone to it. Every once in a while, I'll also find myself having the Orange Ka-BAM!, but as you can imagine, has a sometimes overwhelming citrusy flavor and a whopping 108 grams of sugar. My only complaint, which is not store-specific, is that their smoothies are on the pricier side. Their "Small"/20 oz. runs at about $5.50. However, at this location, they'll dump the leftover couple of ounces from the blender into tasting cups and hand over to you if you're polite! read more

smoothie king is king, alright. i've only had two different kinds of smoothies here, and more often than not i order my regular "small green tea tango, no fruit", and boy oh boy, is it heavenly! i get one almost every week, b/c i can't get enough of it. i also really love the seitan strips, and i'm not saying that from a vegetarian's standpoint, b/c i'm not one. i just like seitan a lot. the only thing with this smoothie king location is that the employee turnover rate seems pretty high. it's that, or there are a million employees there, and each time i go, it's just a new batch. some of those kids are more friendly than others though. really though, it's all about the smoothie, and smoothie king is #1 b/c of taste, and the great variety of smoothies they have. read more

I've been looking for a Jamba Juice in this area and came across this smoothie place on Yelp. So I went there today to give it a try, first impression is that it is focused on nutrition. As you walk into the store you see shelves of protein powder, then to your left is a wall menu with an extensive selection of smoothies. I decided to try the Island Impact smoothie, it had pineapple, papaya, mango and a protein blend. The 32 ounce medium-sized drink cost $6.99 and I thought it was pricey but I ordered it anyway. It had a lot of flavor but I thought it was a little sweet. I later read the nutrtion info they gave me and discovered that although they use a protein blend for this drink it only had 1 gram of protein. My search for Jamba Juice continues.... read more
