The Shrimp is Guilty…read more The shrimp made me sick Last night. It was midnight, your honor, When I awoke. Not pleasant at all We are both guilty, your honor, He for surviving long enough after Being separated from his home and family Still anxiously waiting for him Frozen then sent across the world inside A container inside a plane Unceremoniously shoved into A plastic bag with complete strangers And sent to Whole Foods, A store I'm embarrassed to say That I shop in, where innocently And without malice, he waited. And I innocently and without malice purchased said shrimp, your honor Where he sat for a week or so in my freezer Probably thinking what the hell Until I finally decided to cook him along With seven of his compatriots in a dish I found on the internet called Easy Mediterranean Shrimp I live alone and spend a lot of time Looking at recipes online, your honor A pasttime I highly recommend over watching Inane shows on Netflix or YouTube videos Which I believe are the main cause for The loss of civility in today's culture I only ate part of the dish (it serves 4) Even alone I don't want to be seen as greedy Though it was quite tasty and I could have Eaten another serving. I mean who would know, your honor That being said, I am asking for compensation For my suffering and that of all sea creatures Who have suffered along with me And you, your honor We are all guilty Poem by Susan Stalick (5 stars for Whole Foods for reimbursing me for the frozen shrimp. No questions aka by me or them. )

When his cart arrived below it fell over, thus causing him to fall on top of the cart. Because there is no way for a customer to stop the escalator at the bottom, the woman directly behind him and her cart fell on top of my husband! We all yelled "help" to stop the stairs. While employees did come to our assistance--and fortunately no one was injured--I discovered upon returning to the store the following: Tostop the escalator if there is a mishap, an employee (if they are within earshot) can come down the stairs and turn a key. When I expressed my dismay to the manager, Cynthia, I was told me there was "nothing she could do about it" and "no one got hurt anyway". Her attitude was dismissive and almost argumentative. I replied I wanted to speak with her directly to put better safety standards in place, rather than post on social media. She replied, "People can post whatever they want." I do not believe this level of customer service is anywhere near acceptable. The escalator is a potential danger. Escalators that carry groceries only (such as those in Target) are far safer. Had the Whole Foods escalator been full, many people--including seniors and children--could have been injured. This is a safety hazard that management should address with concern and empathy--not just dismiss.
