Visited on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all, which is good since I was expecting long lines. They have about 6 small round tables with chairs, but it gets very crowded inside. The tables are by where the line for ordering forms so it's not very convenient. The menu is pretty big but the "Dubai chocolate" options are not too many, maybe 6 different ones. I was surprised that some of the Dubai options were made with Nutella and not milk chocolate, that was extremely disappointing. We ordered de Dubai ice cream (soft serve) and it had Nutella instead of milk chcocolate. It was good but I was disappointed about the chocolate. We then ordered the Dubai "pancakes", sorry I can't remember the exact name, and I specifically asked for these to have milk chocolate and not Nutella. I was charged $1 extra for this even though they didn't tell me that when ordering. The pancakes were underwhelming, small portion for the price and could have used more chocolate and pistachio topping. Overall it was an average experience, pricing was too high for the portions and considering they were using Nutella which was not what I was expecting. Because this place is located in the same plaza as a Trader Joe's, parking can be a bit of a hassle.

Papa Kanafa just opened, and let me tell you -- this is not a quiet, polite dessert shop. It's dramatic, indulgent, and showing up with flair. In the best possible way. Let's start with the Dubai Chocolate Brownie. It's not a dessert -- it's a sugar opera. Layers of crunchy kanafa give you that deeply satisfying crackle with every bite -- the kind of crunch that makes you pause and appreciate your life choices -- layered with gooey, nutty brownie and topped with silky milk chocolate that tastes imported, like it's got a passport and refuses to mingle with Hershey's. Pistachios bring texture and balance, though visually? Total disaster. It looks like a toddler got excited with chocolate sauce. Don't judge a brownie for its toppings! Papa, if you're listening: sprinkle some pistachios or kanafa on top, maybe throw in a few gold flakes while you're at it -- make it look like the $17 masterpiece it truly is. The flavor is explosive, but the presentation doesn't reflect that at all. Call me for a consult anytime -- I work for desserts. We also tried the Dubai Strawberry -- same kanafa base, generous fresh strawberry chunks, and that glorious chocolate. My daughter declared it the best thing she's ever eaten. Me? Delicious, yes. Would I pay $15 for it again? Eh. But apparently she'd pay double. Drinks? Both wins. The melon juice was icy, light, and not too sweet -- super refreshing. And the avocado shake with pomegranate was rich, creamy, and topped with tart little bursts of pomegranate that almost made it feel nutritious. Almost. Final bill: about $60 for two desserts and two drinks. Pricey? Sure. But you're not just buying dessert -- you're buying a moment. This is dessert theater with a Middle Eastern soul, and I'm here for it. Falls Church, brace yourself -- Papa just changed the kanafa game

I went to the store last year and was welcomed with very beautiful decorations. I really went there for the Dubai Chocolate Strawberries and was very pleased with them. The chocolate was really my favorite part, and it came out only after a few minutes of me ordering. Overall, I would recommend.

It wasn't busy when we went at all! Only downside the parking lot is packed with Trader Joe folks, this is just a fair warning that parking can be a bit challenging to find. The location itself looks like any other trendy restaurant, so nothing to write home about but they do have decent amount of seating in my opinion. Also, we tried a drink (heart attack), it was really good! I hope to come back and try another drink as well! We got a small, which I really enjoyed since it was actually small.. I also order a Kunafa Lotus... it's quite sweet!!! Also, they didn't have it in any other sizes except one size, which I did think was a bit of a bummer considering how big it is. Now onto the flavor portion.. it was really tasty, but I couldn't and my partner eat all of it as it's incredibly sweet. The warm gooey inside was nice as I was prepared for it to be cold I guess? This is my first time trying Kunafa, so I wasn't entirely sure what I was about to eat lol, but I hope next time I go they'll have more flavors being offered as currently they aren't able to provide the other flavors due to transport restrictions.

I got the Dubai Chocolate and Dubai Chocolate Strawberries and enjoyed both of them. The strawberries could have used more chocolate in my opinion, but I'm a chocoholic and it was still delicious. My favorite was the chocolate bar...amazing! The pistachio cream had great flavor and a nice crunch from the kataifi. I live in Tysons, and I thought the prices were very reasonable especially for what you get. The service was also quick and friendly. I can't wait to go back to try more items on their menu!

The food is so fresh and flavorful. I went around 2 pm on a week day and there were about 10 other patrons. The staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the traditional kanafa, a pistachio smoothie, and pistachio ice cream. Fresh is the key word here. One employee was cutting fresh strawberry while another was cleaning every surface. Everyone was working with care and were very inviting.

We tried the Dubai chocolate crepe ,it was delicious. However, the menu items are pricey, and they don't serve coffee.

After a recent Pilates class in McLean I decided to stop by the local South Block to pick up a smoothie. Upon walking in I was greeted by one of the baristas. Based on where the iPads are in the shop I just decided to go straight to the self service kiosk to order my smoothie. I ended up going with their new Strawberry Cloud smoothie. It had a good blend of fruits and collagen protein. I've also always seen the cloud smoothies from Erewhon out in LA and have been curious of what they might taste like so I gave this one a whirl. The smoothie itself took about 5-7 minutes to be ready. And I'm happy to say I loved it! 10/10, no notes. South Block will definitely be seeing me again and I'm excited to check out some of their other items because the smoothie tasted really fresh. It was delightful -- not too sweet, with notes of honey and an almost floral-like flavor. At $7 a cup, it was definitely pricey, but pretty reasonable for the area as I've also seen plenty of cafes and boba shops charge similar prices for lower quality drinks. The staff was super friendly, and I love that they had one of their juicing machines right next to the register. It was really fun to watch them work, and the machine spit out all the extra sugar cane skins / peelings into a giant wooden bucket that you could take from. The sugarcane had a great aroma, and the peelings are a fun way to keep kids entertained.
