Another nice sandwich spot in the area. They have a variety of sandwiches on their menu. I built my own veggie and I felt like overall it was pretty good! The bread and veggies were all fresh. The mac and cheese was pretty good as well! It was served hot which was nice. Just a heads up that they are very busy during lunch time. I ordered online for pickup and it took over 30 minutes from the time I ordered which was fine because I understood they were busy! This place is a little small so best to get your order togo. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would order from here again.

Pretty disappointed at the lack of meat in my sandwich. Literally 1 piece of thinly sliced ham and shreds of turkey. Not acceptable for a 6" that cost me $12. Won't be going back or referring any friends that's for sure

The service was great. We were welcomed right away and the employee answered our questions and took our order efficiently even with a line. Went at lunch time and the place was packed. It's a small dining area and maybe one table open. People ordering sandwiches to go were waiting outside since no room to wait inside. We got ours to go as well. I had the Smoked Brisket Sandwich. It was good but the bread was a little hard so took away from the sandwich itself. I got my mom the Roast Beef Sandwich and her bread was hard as well. Prices for the sandwiches are high to me for what you get. I don't mind paying more but it needs to be a quality sandwich. We had the New England Clam Chowder Soup and it was fine. I saw they are opening another location in Tracy.

Let's start with the positive. The place was clean, it is a new building and been open couple months now. Cashier was very friendly, great customer service. I ordered an 8" hot roast beef with provolone with a side of potato soup. The bread was nice, the soup was ok. Sorry to say the sandwich was very disappointing. It was filled with shredded lettuce, a thin tomato, one slice of cheese and 2 slices of roast beef. For a $20 meal??? put some meat in that thing. I probably wouldn't eat there again. Should have went to Safeway. They make a way better sandwich and in my opinion, use a way better quality meats, boars head products.

Newly opened place in Tracy (Yay!). We tried them out today and did not disappoint. You enter and everyone greets you, everyone is very friendly. We got the clam chowder, brisket, ham, and Reuben sandwich all for take out. The sourdough was excellent and all the sandwiches and clam chowder were good. We definitely recommend them and will definitely come back...and thank you for opening one in our little town.

This most recent time we stopped in just for their fresh juices, looking for something healthy and refreshing. Love that their juices are made to order and you can watch them making them. I ordered a custom mix with carrot, pineapple, ginger, and orange -- super tasty and perfectly balanced. My husband got their green juice, as-is, and enjoyed it too. They had made an oops on my drink but fixed it right away! and even gave me the little extra on the side. The service was super friendly on our very first visit -- the girls working that evening were warm and welcoming. These last couple of times though, it's been a guy helping us, and while he's efficient, he comes off more serious and not as personable, which changes the vibe. If you're in Tracy on a Saturday, you can hit up the farmer's market downtown and stop by La Bolsita, it's smack middle of the farmer's market :) I do wish they'd itemize the receipts instead of just showing the total -- it'd be nice to see the breakdown. For an appetizer, it's definitely on the larger side and was very filling as a solo diner. That said, it would make an excellent dish to share with the table! The carnitas were flavorful, tender, and a great way to kick off the meal. I also ordered the pineapple michelada, and honestly, it was good! I don't think I've ever had a pineapple michelada before, but it was refreshing and paired perfectly with the food. I'd absolutely recommend giving it a try if you're visiting! For my main entrée, I had the red chilaquiles topped with carnitas. One thing I've noticed lately is that a lot of places seem to take the easy route by using a simple tomato based sauce for their chilaquiles. That definitely wasn't the case here!! The chile rojo had a rich, well developed flavor that tasted like it was made from scratch with care rather than taking shortcuts. The carnitas and over easy egg were a perfect addition, and I enjoyed every bite!! The restaurant has plenty of seating inside, but I chose to sit on the patio. It was nicely shaded and made for a peaceful, relaxing breakfast outdoors. To top it all off, the service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the meal. Overall, El Bistro by Salt & Pepper was a pleasant surprise. Between the thoughtfully prepared food, unique drinks, relaxing atmosphere, and great service, it's an easy spot to recommend. I'll definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu.

This with the very low expectations that if there were any offerings, anything remotely similar to Texas Barbecue would be a miracle. Thank heaven for miracles! It's all in the name - Taste of Texas Barbecue puts the flavor and quality where its name is. I was pleasantly surprised when I unwrapped the brisket and pulled pork on my 3-meat plate and found that everything was moist and smoked just right. At first, I was taken aback that the meats were wrapped in paper and rather luke/room-temp warm. Then I thought that is very smart to keep the steam created in the take-out container from overcooking the meat during delivery (similar to when I use butcher paper to complete my smoking process to keep the flavor and moisture). Having Texas roots, I am very persnickety about brisket in particular. I usually have to have a flat shipped to me when I have the time smoke my own to get that amazing Texas bark. One of the markers of great Texas-style brisket done right is that it has the trifecta - (1) perfect layer of bark, (2) tender/moist, and (3) the smoke flavor comes through so you don't need sauce except to complement the flavor. TTB has taken this Texas girl on a flavor journey back to Dallas!!! For the sides, I chose potato salad and coleslaw, but potato salad is not an option anymore, but is still listed on DoorDash. TTB gave me a call when they received my order to let me know and listed other options - I chose the Mac. I loved the coleslaw. The Mac was good, but I would have liked it more if it arrived hot, so it may have been creamier. The barbecue sauce is perfect - not overly sweet - a great compliment to the brisket. The only thing I added was sliced onions that I marinate in fresh lemon juice. It complements the flavor of the brisket and bbq sauce. Thank you, TTB - I will definitely be a frequent flyer coming back for more and more when I don't feel like ordering and smoking my own! :0)

NARRATIVE: I arrived just after 7:00 am of a Wednesday and found the place open and to myself. After checking out their extensive wall menu, I ordered a plain Bagel with Lox, an Asai bowl and a Sea Salt Caramel iced coffee to go. Like I mentioned above, they have an extensive menu which really impressed me. I was also impressed by their super large espresso machine. My order took about ten minutes to prepare and I headed off with my bag and drink towards home. At the house and before tearing into my food, my camera ate first. My Bagel with Lox was dynamite. Super thick cut of fresh salmon with cream cheese, capers, onion and cucumbers gave the sandwich a nice crunch. My Sea Salt Caramel coffee was great and their Asai bowls are impressive. SCENE: Located at the corner of W. 11th Street and East Street, Isabel's Cafe now occupies the old Sandwich Spot location. RECOMMENDATION(S): Awesome food! Highly recommended. The only negative I had was, unlike Sandwich Spot where you could watch your sandwich being made, Isabel's doesn't have that option. Everything is prepared in the back, away from the customers.
