Want to try!
Mary J.

Lovely service. The young lady at the register took so much time to answer all of my questions. Even gave me samples of the cookies (whoa! That white macadamia chunk is out of this world!!!). Ultimately I chose the pastrami Reuben. It was good but maybe too many things on the sandwich (my fault for ordering it all!) I want to go back! I'm including all of the sandwiches I'd like to try in the pics. Go! Try it! Everything looked so good. And on a very cold & very rainy day they were quite busy. Much success to our newest sandwich shop in town!

Turkey and Swiss sandwich

Happy to have another new restaurant in the area. I stopped by to grab dinner and ordered the 6 inch turkey and cheese sandwich. The sandwich was super tasty, they use a sauce that's pretty tasty. The food was fresh and everything tasted good. The prices are clearly higher because of the sourdough bread and better quality meats. You also get a pickle on the side as well. I would Come back and try other items. They close early around 630, sadly a lot of OC places close early so make sure to stop by during business hours.

8-inch Italian sandwich

The sandwiches here are pretty good but the menu can get pretty pricey. Many things, like sandwich toppings, are an upcharge and are not really worth the money. A standard size sandwich here is only 4 inches long. Sandwiches start at $10. I decided to get the larger 8-inch sandwich for an additional $4, making it $14 for the base sandwich. I decided on the Italian sandwich. Some of the toppings like lettuce, tomato and onion are included. Additional sandwich toppings are $0.25 each or $0.50 if you want extra. I ordered pepperocinis ($0.25) and EXTRA olives ($0.50) because I like a lot of olives on an Italian sub. There were so few olives on my sandwich that I couldn't even taste them. One half of the sandwich had only a single olive. Definitely not worth the upcharge. I ordered my Italian sandwich "hot". I did not receive a hot sandwich, just a regular cold sub. You can add soup and a drink to your sandwich for $7.95 extra. The drinks are regular fountain drinks and the soup is about a 6 ounce portion. The soup by itself is $6.95 for the 6 ounce portion, so over a dollar an ounce. The bread is very good though if you like Sourdough. I'd like to return and try their salads and flatbreads.

This was a first time visit. Got a 6" Pastrami Ruben. Here is what you got right: The sourdough was great. Crunchy, tangy, and a bit salty. The cheese wasn't a stingy portion and was sufficiently melted. The kraut was just as it should be, given the portions of everything else. Here is where you lost me: The meat. Less in quantity than I expected. Drier than I had hoped for, possibly because it was so lean. When I tasted it I was underwhelmed. Not a hint of the pepperiness I expect from pastrami. The spread was the right color but I can't honestly say that I tasted it. Based on this first impression I don't see myself coming back which is really unfortunate. I was glad to see a local sandwich shop with a pastrami Ruben as a regular menu item. Haven't had that since TOGOS left town. Theirs was great.

Three items total! Delicious chowder soup and a fresh sourdough bread bowl. French dip and smoked brisket sandwich

This is a new business, offering delicious sandwiches, soups, and colorful salads! Their menu also includes flatbread and gluten-free wraps. My friend and I stopped in for lunch on a rainy day recently, we ordered two delicious sandwiches. Both 4 inch one smoked brisket, and one classic French dip. Apparently an absolute fan fave! Agreed! We ordered a bread bowl with classic clam chowder soup... that was so tasty. It reminded me of sitting on the pier in San Francisco. We ordered a side cup of the hot tomato soup, which was also delicious. And that day they were offering seasonal vegetable soup so they gave us a sample of that as well. Ambience is very clean and the staff was friendly. They greeted the long line kindly and thanked guests for their patience. It is a brand new restaurant after all. Clearly employees are still learning. I have a coportate event coming up and we are planning to order a tray of the gluten-free wraps and a mixed tray of smoked brisket sandwiches along with the # 5 turkey and salami sandwiches Yum!!!! Support local!

First time here! I came to do a taste test of sourdough bread, and it was fantastic and tasty. The sandwiches were very fresh, crispy, savory, flavorful, and delicious. Also, there is a good selection of crunchy chips and refreshing sodas. Good service, nice atmosphere with upbeat music, and I had an excellent experience today.

Barely enough chicken salad to cover the bread. Unacceptable.

Sherman, the owner, is absolute class, he's always welcoming, super friendly, and genuinely cares about the food he serves and the people coming through the door. You can tell he takes real pride in running the shop. As for the food? Absolutely incredible. Everything is always fresh, stacked generously, and packed with flavor. It literally never disappoints. I went to the Anaheim location a few time since I live near there, but they can't compete with this place. One time, I placed an order for pick up and I was an hour late due to helping someone with an errand. They gave me a ring and a courtesy reminder to ask if I was still coming or if I was ok, and they even offered to make me a new one! If that isn't service, I don't know what is. 11/10 would recommend.

I was a first timer as I was traveling around San Diego and am so happy to have found this shop. Before I waste too much time droning on about how delicious our sandwiches were, PLEASE do yourself a solid and bookmark this place. STOP HERE to order! Food: We ordered a Reuben and a kids Turkey, both on rye bread. SO fresh and so flavorful. I need another one asap. Service: Very friendly and sincere. We had to wait a bit as this place was PACKED when we arrived. But, the employees didn't ignore us or forget us after we placed our order. I was getting a tad concerned they might have forgotten our order (no way). It was worth the wait. Ambiance: Small, cozy, light and open. Windows at the front of the shop. Recommend: Yes. Times a zillion. Thanks!

The evening before my brother's fiancée's birthday, my parents and I visited the store to order a cake for the celebration. We were assisted by an employee named Aiden. From the beginning, he showed little to no customer service--there was no greeting, friendliness, or engagement during the interaction. Despite this, we continued with the order and specifically requested a fresh cake to be picked up the following day at 3:00 PM. The next day, when my mother and brother went to pick up the cake, my mother noticed that the display cake that had been in the case the previous evening was no longer there. She asked Aiden if the cake he gave them was the display cake. Instead of responding, he simply stared at her and did not answer the question. My brother also noticed the lack of basic customer service and found the interaction very strange and unprofessional. Later that day, we brought the cake home and served it during the celebration. As soon as we cut into it, everyone noticed the cake was very different and tasted horrible. It tasted stale and dry. The strawberries were very mushy and smelled spoiled. None of us finished our cake slices and still have a large portion remaining. The following day, I called the store to explain the situation. A female employee answered the phone and told me she was busy with customers but would call me back shortly to sort out the issue. About 30 minutes later, I received a call back, and it was Aiden again. I explained everything that happened, but once again he showed no concern, empathy, or professionalism. When I asked about my mother's question regarding whether the cake was the display cake, he claimed he "didn't hear" her question. He did not apologize for the experience and simply offered a free slice of cake as compensation. My family and I have purchased cakes from this location several times before and have always enjoyed both the quality of the cakes and the customer service. In fact, my family has owned restaurants and businesses ourselves, so we understand very well how important customer service and quality are in the hospitality industry. This is not the way customers should be treated, which is why this experience was so disappointing to us. This is the first time we have ever had to complain. We were very surprised that a cake we specifically requested to be fresh tasted bad and have been displayed for days. Aiden also mentioned that cakes and pastries can remain out for up to two days, which was concerning given the quality we experienced. We truly loved this location and had always enjoyed coming here in the past. Unfortunately, what could have been a small issue turned into a very negative experience due to the lack of professionalism, communication, and customer care from the manager on duty. Because of this experience, my family and I will no longer be returning to this location in the future. I hope this issue can be addressed so other customers do not experience the same situation.

The inside is so bright, airy and clean with plenty of seating options. I love that it's near Stater Bros, so I can easily grab groceries and pick up a treat for myself because some days, you just need something sweet. The pastries are clearly labeled with a short description. It's nice that they include a list of ingredients, which I find helpful for those who may have allergens that is often overlooked or just as a nice to know. Every time I pick up a tray, I feel compelled to fill it, but I try to limit to 2-3 items. Occasionally, we'll splurge with a half dozen haha. Some of our favorites have been palmier, milk bread, fruit tart and egg tarts. For savory items, I love the pastry frank and curry croquette. It seems like they started expanding more of their menu with seasonal items such as such as pizettas and fall vibes with biscoff and pumpkin flavored things. In a recent trip, I was interested in trying the cherry danish, but I apparently picked up the blueberry instead. The cashier offered to swap it out and explained the nuances in design that differentiated the two options, but I declined since I liked blueberry. That just means I have to go back!
