Tub-O-Tuna - tuna salad, jack cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onions on wheat bread
    Takeshi H.

Slowly but surely Ladera Ranch continues to add an assortment of different eateries to cater to all tastebuds and that is no different with the popular franchise - Board & Brew. The ambience is something akin to a local surf shop as open air with music playing and business is bustling. It's the kind of place you can grab a bite for lunch in the outdoor area and also an adult beverage while enjoying the weather. The service is solid if not spectacular. As for the food well it's sandwiches galore and for this venture felt more of the semi-health variety and went for the tuna sandwich. This is an establishment that does not skimpy on the fillings nor do they take shortcuts on the quality. The sandwich contained fresh ingredients and was well put together. And as always when you add their special sauce to anything it always elevates whatever it is placed on top of.

We stopped in yesterday for the first time and we will definitely be back when we are in the area . The service was so good , the guys working yesterday are amazing . Both the sandwiches we tried were excellent. The bread they use tastes fresh baked . I got the California delight minus mayo and it's insanely good ( turkey sprouts cream cheese & sunflower seeds) My wife got the Turkado. There is a beer bar with a big screen and it's situated between the interior & open air patio. Good service, food & music , this is a great lunch spot !

Board and Brew always hits the sandwich cravings! I've been to B&B at multiple locations but first time at this place! This place has a large parking lot with lots of indoor and outdoor seating area, the outdoor has heaters which is great for a cold day. I got the Italian sandwich ($11) and 2 beers ($4 each due to 2 year anniversary special). My Bf got his favorite spicy beef dip! Service is always fast and food here is filling and delicious. I loved the cinnamon bun ale, tasted just like a Smokey cinnamon roll. Don't forget to get the secret sauce for the sandwiches (bomb sauce!). Overall B&B will always be my favorite sandwich place in OC!

Chicken club. No bacon, add avocado (that's very brown).

My husband and I love board and brew, and have had many positive experiences here. Unfortunately, today we ordered the chicken club and the Baja wrap, and both came with really brown avocado that looked super unappealing. My husband mentioned there were also a bunch of the special sauces sitting out and sauce spilled on the counter when he went to pick it up. Attaching pictures of my sandwich and his wrap for reference. Hopefully this was a fluke, as we hope to return often.

After visiting B&B a few times I'd like to revise and bump up my prior review by two stars up to a total four stars. I've stayed away from the salads for the reasons previously mentioned, but I've found their sandwiches to be fresh and healthy. And the place is just a cool place to hang out in our community. My new faves are the Tub-O-Tuna with sprouts, and the Veggie Sammie. I just love the sprouts as it seems to be hard to find nowadays, and their squaw bread is freshly made. I also enjoy that the staff is always smiling and friendly, and the food is always quickly delivered from the kitchen. Carry on with the good work over there!!

Baja Steak (ribeye, jalapeño, grilled onion, cheese, Mayo)
    Kyle W.

Some of the best sandwiches I've had in the area. A tiny bit pricey ($12-$15) for a sandwich with no sides, but it is well worth paying the slight premium vs. a jersey mikes. Service is friendly and fast and again the food is so good. I got the Baja chicken last weekend and the Baja steak melt today. Not kidding when I say top 5 "cheesesteak" style sandwiches I've ever had. THE BREAD IS TOP TIER!!!!

We ordered two Aperol Spritzes. They were well presented and tasty. My companion ordered two smash tacos. I ordered two Ensenada tacos, one with beer-battered fish, one with grilled shrimp. They all arrived promptly with a smile from the runner. The food was very good. Overall a pleasant experience. One quibble, though: the grilled shrimp really need a rough chop before serving. I bit into my taco and pulled out a whole shrimp. Chewy! Nevertheless, we'll be back.

The Lost Inferno is a tiki bar in San Clemente that is themed around the classic 1980s movie "The…read moreGoonies". It is a drinks-only bar for now, so eat before coming. Their website teases that food is coming soon. It is a fairly small place and I would definitely recommend making a reservation on Yelp. If there are no reservations available when you want to visit, they also have a Yelp live waitlist. The building has its own parking lot with about ten spaces and is shared with the sushi speakeasy upstairs. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Sunday night, and luckily there were still quite a few spaces available. A half hour later, the place was packed. The outside of the building is not marked. Enter through the red double doors in front, walk to the right, and the entrance will be easy to spot. Seating options include eight seats at the bar, four high-top tables in the main area that seat four people each, and a slightly raised grotto area with one four-seat table and two two-seat tables. We often like to sit at the bar, but I reserved a table in the grotto so we could get the full experience and I'm glad I did. The interior has great décor with a mix of tiki and pirate ship elements. The walls are wooden plank, with cargo netting, ropes, and tiki lights above. The walls have portraits of Goonies movie characters. Take two steps up to the grotto area, and you are inside of a cave with skulls, shells, and treasures embedded in the cave walls. There is also a small waterfall in the corner. Scan the QR code on the table for the cocktail menu. It is colorful and many of the drinks have names tied to The Goonies. Each drink also has zero, one, or two skulls next to it to indicate the booziness factor. They have quite a few original cocktails as well as classic tiki drinks, a few mocktails, spirits, beer, and wine. I started out with the Ash Landing (Hamilton Pot Still Blonde Rum, Hamilton 86 Demerara Rum, Hamilton Pimento Dram, Angostura Bitters, Pineapple, Lime, Ginger, One Skull booziness, $14). This was definitely a little on the boozy side, with good ginger flavor and the pineapple and lime in the background. She started out with the One-Eyed Willy (Pou Vodka, Lychee, Guava, Coconut, Sweet & Sour, $15, keep the mug for $65). It is rare that a vodka drink is my favorite of the night, but this was both of our favorites. It was very balanced and juicy, and not boozy at all. The guava, coconut, and citrus from the sweet and sour were all there. We bought the mug, and they bring you a new one in original packaging. The purchased mug is colored a little differently (blue instead of black) than the mug the drink is served it, but it still looks great. While walking around taking pictures, I ran into our server and mentioned that it was my girlfriend's birthday. He kindly brought us some shots on the house. He said it was a recipe they had for shots during Halloween, and it tasted like a spin on a kamikaze. It was very good and much appreciated. I have a hard time resisting a cool mug, so for my second drink I ordered the Slick Shoes (Planteray Pineapple Rum, Worthy Park Rum, Bounty Dark Rum, Strawberry, Papaya, Lime Juice, $17). It is served in a cool sneaker mug with a flaming lime half on top. It was nicely balanced and just a tiny bit boozy. It had a nice light fruit flavor, not overly sweet at all. I think it is sometimes served in a regular glass, so if you order it, be sure to ask for the sneaker mug. Her second cocktail was the Never Say Die (Producer Mezcal, Kiwi, Lemon, Mango, Grilled Pineapple, $14). The smokiness of the mezcal was on the hairy edge of being too smoky for me, but she loved it. She could taste the kiwi and mango. We shared one last drink, the Garden of Eden (Papa's Pilar Blonde Rum, Lavender, Lemon, Elderflower, Cucumber Bitters, One Skull booziness, $17). It had an interesting (good) floral flavor profile, and didn't strike me as boozy at all. I could definitely taste the cucumber notes from the bitters. There was good 80s music playing in the background. It's a Goonies themed bar, I get it, but we would have enjoyed a few tiki songs in the mix too. There is one unisex restroom out in the lobby area. It is nice that they also themed it with wooden plank on the walls and ceiling, and some nautical décor. Daniel was our server and was very friendly and provided great service. Thanks again Daniel for the birthday shots! Bartender Felipe also delivered one round of our drinks and was also very friendly. All of the drinks were good and there are definitely more on the menu that we would like to return and try. We had a real fun time, thanks Lost Inferno!
