Came here after a nice hike at the Bell canyon trail which is about 15-20min away. My teen daughter loves CAVA bowl and she wanted to come here for lunch. It's Chipotle but mediterranean style. There was already a line but it moved quickly. My daughter had hers with steak as a protein, and I had a vegetarian bowl. Very colorful, delicious, and low calorie. Nice indoor seatings, small patio dining area. Parking was challenging because of the small lot the restaurant sits on. We had to make a few circles and waited for cars to leave. read more

This location delivers on that front: my bowl was great, and I appreciate that they've been more consistent lately with having ingredients in stock. Also, bonus points for super easy parking! That said, the cleanliness of this location really takes away from the experience. Compared to other CAVA spots I've been to (especially in LA), this one feels noticeably dirtier--dusty surfaces, grimy counters, and just an overall lack of upkeep. It honestly kept me from even wanting to take a photo of my food. The staff here is friendly, which I always appreciate, but I really hope they can take some time to deep clean and refresh the space. Cava is currently gifting their Rewards members with a FREE drink to celebrate their Cava Amor event where members can get a free drink after 3pm on 7/2 or 7/9 no purchase necessary! I went ahead and tried Cava for the first time. I got an email letting me know about 4 different Fizz flavors they have out now, so I figured I'd try a couple during these nights to see what they taste like in hopes of purchasing more in the future! Unfortunately, the Fizz Drinks aren't listed in the App, so when I placed my order, I had to choose a Large Strawberry Citrus flavor (I really wanted to try Summer Berry Fizz) instead. It was ready in about 10 minutes. I went to the location and they handed me a cup to fill out my drink myself. I asked the girl, "Oh, I'm supposed to make this myself?" She said "Yes." So I went over to the drink dispenser, but none of the flavors I requested were available. No Summer Berry Fizz Flavors or Strawberry Citrus flavors. So I figured just mix my own Black Cherry and Blueberry flavor then and see what happens. Maybe because this is my first time, but it left me VERY confused. If I order a drink (a promotional drink) do I have to mix all the flavors in myself? Are the employees supposed to mix the flavors for online orders or do I still that myself? I guess because my intention was to have one thing and I ended up getting another, it left me very unsatisfied with the ordering and pick up process. Nonetheless, the Black Cherry and Blueberry flavors I mixed together did turn out to be very tasty! So that was a 4/5, but my overall experience, was a 2/5. read more

Whole new staff? Change in management? Cava has always been a favorite and especially this one as I always found it clean, friendly staff, and a full bowl. My order rarely changes, half rice half splendid greens with chicken, and toppings on top. My most recent visits have been quite dissapointing, portions have significantly cut in half. At first I thought it was an off day but just visited again today and wow I am so dissapointed. If i'm going to spend $13 on a bowl, I'm expecting a fairly portioned out bowl. The staff is basically flinging scoops into my bowl. Rice and the greens? It was a sad little scoop.. okay I guess I dont need that much carbs, but then everything else that follows, 2 half scoops of chicken. and then small flings of toppings of corn cucumbers red onions and tomatoes. They literally flick the spoonful into the bowl that some drop on the other buckets of toppings. Then somene else occasionally comes in to clean up the area which I appreciate. But wow.. Please look at my picture, I get inflation and stuff but for this price and my food that was once filled above the line in the bowl to now what falls below. It looks so sad. But don't worry they are generous with the sauce on top even though I ask for light sauce. Grabbing a spoon to drink my sauce mixed with some rice and chicken I guess. They serve Mediterranean-style bowls and wraps, kind of like a healthier fast-casual concept. I stopped by around lunchtime and it was very busy, which tells me it's definitely a popular spot. Service moved fairly quickly though, and the food was solid overall. The flavors were good, but I wouldn't say it completely blew me away. Today's visit to Vaca at around 8:30 pm was so much better than my previous experiences! The restaurant looked cleaner and more inviting. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted right away, which set a nice tone. Even though we waited a bit before our order was taken, the staff was welcoming and kept thanking us for waiting which really made a difference. The gentleman who took our order was very attentive, listened to what we wanted, and handled everything with professionalism. I'll give 4 stars because the food station could still be a little cleaner some food was spilled and it would be nice if it was wiped down more often. I do understand it was later in the evening (around 8:30 pm), so that may be why it wasn't spotless. First time trying Cava and I have mixed feelings. I tried the steak harissa bowl, substituted the red pepper hummus for traditional and added balsamic vinegar. The flavors went well together and I thought the bowl was overall tasty, but the portions were quite small for a bowl costing over $20. I am not a fan of chipotle for the same reason, so I most likely will not return. Haven't been to Cava since 2021-ish (?), so I went to this location a couple weeks ago for dinner. This location was good when it initially opened, but this recent visit was disappointing. Line was not long given the time (my husband and I came between what would be rush dinner hour from 6-7pm). It moved very quickly. First disappointment was when I made my bowl, a lot of the options were sold out. 3 out the 5 sauces I picked were gone. Also no pickled onions or cucumber salad as sides. They also downgraded the amount you got for the spicy lamb meatballs. They cost $1.45 extra (which was fine), and before I remembered getting 5 meatballs for my bowl. This time I only got 3. Second disappointment was the price. Granted a lot of places have gone up in price since the pandemic, but this visit was a quite a sticker shock. My husband and I got 2 bowls and 2 drinks which amounted to about $37.00. Before I think it was about $10-$12 less for the same meal. The two good things on this trip was our drinks. Mostly natural sodas and homemade drinks. Had the Pineapple/Apple Mint tea. Very delicious, went back for seconds on that. The restaurant was also very clean. May have just gone during a fluke night, but may frequent the CAVA in Irvine, as it is bigger in terms of space to eat and had more choices. read more

I customized it the way I wanted it and it was really good! I got a free piece of pita bread with my bowl and all the flavors with the sauces elevated the flavor! The service at the Mission Viejo location is really not the best. There are a few people working the cashier and toppings area who look like they absolutely hate their lives. I went in yesterday to grab a bowl and the girl adding my toppings was literally throwing them into the bowl. The guy next to her was making a mess out of it and kept looking everywhere behind me except at my food. It came across as very unprofessional and honestly rude. Not to mention the portions are ridiculous...they rarely put an actual FULL scoop of anything. They are extremely stingy. If the rule is one scoop then i'm expecting a nice scoop not half the spoon gone. I used to come here a lot, but this specific location has made me not want to come anymore. I still stop by sometimes only because it is the most convenient location near my school. If the bowls are going to be that expensive, I expect at least a decent attitude, a smile, or even a fake smile. On top of that, they are always rushing like they have somewhere more important to be. No one seems welcoming and it feels like they just want to help you as fast as possible so you will leave the store. I honestly wish I took a video of them adding the food because you would not believe it unless you saw it. There is one sweet girl who works there and I have only seen her a few times. Came here because we wanted a somewhat healthier/cleaner option than the chipotle that is next door. Although the food here tastes great, our experience was not. We placed an order to go on their app. Walked in 5 minutes after the order and ended up waiting for over 45 minutes to have our food prepared while if you walk in and order at the counter it'll be ready within 5 minutes. There was a long line just for pick up orders. I've not had this experience at other cava restaurants so hopefully this is just a singled out event. I would suggest that you drive and your passenger hop out to pick up the order while you circle the lot. Food tastes fresh and they get a complicated order pretty accurate. If you have multiple dishes/bowls in your order, be prepared that their print-out is hella light and hard to read, if you added people's names. If you dine in, the line goes pretty fast as they assemble your bowl. Pick up orders are on the left past the cashier and someone wi hand over your to-go bag. The food and choices were amazing, a little pricy but for healthier options I understand. This was our first time here, the line was out the door. Seemed many staff were working but things like the trash overflowing, lack the utensils at the station and as people left no one was wiping down the tables. Since this was our first time I wanted to make sure I got what I wanted in the line, they really rushed you through and had to tell one of the girls that I didn't want certain items in my bowl. There was many staff as I mentioned but they weren't divided amongst everything that needed to happen. It was freezing outside yet the air was blasting making it pretty miserable to eat there which we did. I will be back but hoping they get things together so the place doesn't look so dirty. They always mess up my order. I came in to pick up my online order and they forgot to include my free side pita like they always do. This time they messed up more because they didn't get my ingredients right. They added ingredients I didn't order and left out ingredients I did order. We told the person working the register that they forgot my free side pita and without changing her gloves, she went to grab me a free pita after she was handling money. I used to work in fast food and that was always a huge no no and a complete health and hygiene violation. I don't know what kind of restaurant thinks it's ok to touch money and food with the same gloves but that is disgusting. I asked the male worker there to remake my order because it was wrong and he was helpful and nice but as I was watching him ask the female workers there to make the food that they messed up, they just gave a bunch of attitude and it made me so uncomfortable. Why should I feel bad for wanting my order remade properly that they messed up? Love love love the options here. My only feedback for the staff and manager is the uniformity for which some of the choice items are cooked. One day I actually witnessed an unsatisfied customer because the basmati rice were rock hard and could most likely knock a tooth filling loose (i know because I also ordered the same as mentioned in prior review). The customers were not happy with the way things were handled, got a refund and left. Another time it was the black lentils that were really really hard. Today as I sit here enjoying my meal, i bite into the roasted sweet potatoes...some of it cooked and some of it crunchy (uncooked). I wonder if there was a change of shift with the staff person who cooked the sweet white roasted potatoes?! Tip: Parking can be a challenge around lunch time. Come early! I got to the toppings and picked corn and cucumber and I wanted another topping and the guy said I could only have two. I wish he had informed me of that earlier as I would have picked something else. On top of all of that they did half a spoonful of toppings. Overall I was just crying in the car due to the lack of information and wanting a nice meal after being sick and ending up with pita bread pita chips and rice and some corn.
