I drove by Sweetgreen and thought, "That place looks new." So I drove over and parked to try it out. Atmosphere: 5 stars. Very clean. The place looked deserted. I prefer the human experience but those who like to order their food though a computer tablet can too. Service: 5 stars. The cashier was a nice guy. I asked him how it worked at "Sweetgreen" and he walked me through it with patience. I tossed around the idea of a steak bowl or a chicken bowl and after reading the descriptions, I decided to build my own bowl. The computer tablets let me touch the pictures to select what went into my bowl: Chicken, Sweet potatoes, Quina, Olive oil, that sort of thing. A slice of bread came with it. Value: 4 Stars. This is tricky. Let's face it. The place is expensive. In and Out hamburger is across the street. They have a burger for like $6. "Why did I write it is tricky?" you ask. Unexpectedly, I found the bowl filling. Another place, for the same money, would leave me full, if not stuffed. This place, "Sweetgreen," leaves me satisfied after half a bowl. It took the other half home. I guess eating nutritious food kills the appetite. So, my 'Build your own bowl' cost me $15 but I could have split it or eaten it later. Which I did. Quality: 5 Stars. First bite, I knew the food was fresh. A few more bites and I felt satisfied. A few more and I felt like I was forcing myself to eat. I went to Sweetgreen three times in the last week, and while I'm definitely a fan of the food, there are some "growing pains" with the dining experience that keep it from being a 5-star spot for me. The Food: Always fresh and delicious. I usually use a coupon, which helps, but even without one, the quality is consistent. Every time I've come in, the team has been incredibly helpful and friendly. Great service goes a long way! I'm not a big fan of the self-service digital kiosks. It feels a bit impersonal and less intuitive than just talking to someone. For such a large restaurant, it feels surprisingly empty. It's quite cold inside, and the seating is--to put it bluntly--brutal. The chairs have zero cushion and are extremely uncomfortable for sitting longer than five minutes. The bathrooms were not well-maintained during my visits, which is disappointing for a newer location. It feels a little overpriced for a "fast-casual" meal, especially if you don't have a discount. This is a "take-out" kind of place: not one where you sit for the meal. Service was quick and the food was, altogether, good. I ordered the Garlic Steak Protein plate, which was excellent: healthy, nutritious and flavorful with "wild rice, tomatoes, broccoli, steak and sweet potatoes. Yum. My wife asked me to pick her up the Salmon Protein Plate. I sampled it and found it to be 'okay,' but not nearly as tasty as my plate. I should have looked more carefully at what came with this plate and then asked if I could make some substitutions. Came to check out sweet green during their soft opening, and the staff were very friendly in explaining the concept of sweet green, and their menu recommendations. The ordering process was seamless, as you order using the iPad and there are pictures posted to guide you in your decisions. You can choose from one of the premade options, or you can create your own bowl with your choice of ingredients. I went with the premade Miso salmon bowl and caramelized garlic steak with pesto vinaigrette, which were both delicious layered atop a bed of wild rice. The interior was clean and they had a spacious (and dog-friendly!) patio to eat outside. My order only took about 5-10 minutes to arrive, and it was perfect weather to enjoy it outside. Parking is plentiful in this shared lot, and there are a few designated spots for takeout and handicap. I will definitely return! read more

I love this location. This is my lunch spot jam. Easy ordering process ( once you get it down) and the app to order online is easily one of my top used apps on my phone. This is my first time trying this restaurant . I downloaded the app and ordered a chicken protein plate for around $15. Overall, the food was very delicious and appeared to be healthy as well. Food was ok, the order process is just dumb. We walked in (as new customers) and there is a stand that says "Order here." So we stood there, ready to order. The employees said hello but completely ignored us after that. A few minutes later we were going to leave without ordering and an experienced customer came in and walked three steps to our left, ordered off an iPad screen. So- we did the same. After we ordered, a staff member came over and apologized- explaining that the sign was superfluous. Heres my advice: PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! Those people standing by your order here sign? There is outdoor shaded seating BUT it was very dirty on the ground and the tables, and there are about 6 missing chairs so you need to pull from other tables to complete a 4-top. The Chipotle next door was a thousand times more clean so I can assume this is a staffing and poor management problem. Service: I came in knowing the service would be minimal, but there was no welcome....is this your first time?.....can we help you with the ordering process? I would think a new restaurant in a mature neighborhood would know they need to hold customer hands a little bit while folks become accustomed to their hands free approach. After ordering I asked for a receipt and they said they couldn't get me a receipt but I could take a picture of the screen if I'd like. Food: I ordered the BBQ Steak Bowl. It came without steak. When I took it back they said I must have modified it, which I didn't. When we looked at the item on the screen, there is a grayed out box where the steak is which says this item is not available. Why would you put and item on the menu if the main ingredient is not available? Because I had checked the menu before coming I didn't read the ingredients in detail when selecting it in store. They did re-fire a bowl for me with a slightly different steak option. Reality of what was served vs the online pictures is comical. It looked very quickly tossed together and messy. The steak was overcooked, tough and cold. The rice was getting stale. We also ordered the Focaccia and it was also served cold and greasy. My parents were also underwhelmed with their food. They have a huge sign promoting the Sweetgreen rewards but you can't even scan your membership at the kiosk on your own and there's no instructions on how to do so. Don't order the fries. We waited over 20 minutes for our food and when we checked with the staff they said we needed to wait another 15 mins for the fries. We asked for the rest of the food first to find out it was already prepared and just sitting there the entire time. Ordered salad with medium dressing and it was flavorless. Here is what sets Sweetgreen apart from the pretenders in the health-food restaurant business: - Highest quality, clean, mostly organic ingredients (90%) - they have antibiotic-free chicken and beef, and their veggies are mostly organic unless specified otherwise. They are literally a cut above the rest! Note that "cage-free" chicken that competitors offer is not quite the same!!! - Complete transparency in sourcing of ingredients (check out their blackboard with listings). They mostly source from local, organic farms! - No seed oils (think Canola oil used by competitors) in their dishes. - Eco-friendly packaging. - Friendly customer service Thanks to the above, I rate Sweetgreen as my numero uno health-food restaurant! I go there so much so that the staff notices it when I'm gone for a day or two!! With an array of healthy, nutritious, and delicious bowls/salads to choose from, you can't go wrong! The service was a 10/10, I placed an online order via their "Sweetgreen" app and it was extremely easy to customize my own bowl. It was ready in under 15 minutes and the mobile pickup took just a couple seconds to get my order when I arrived. Ambiance was very nice, extremely modern and simple and clean on the inside. The workers all had a smile on their faces and seemed very organized. The food was pretty good, it was the same as the sweet greens I had in LA. Sweet greens uses quality ingredients but for some reason their meat / poultry i's always a bit iffy. I got blackened chicken and while it was cooked good there wasn't much flavor. The steak i've had in LA had flavor but was quite chewy which isn't pleasant, i'm guessing this is just a store wide issue in most of Sweet Greens so maybe they should revisit and fix their proteins. In total, very good place. It's quite expensive, around $20-30 on a bowl depending what you get, but if you do get double protein or double whatever it is very fantastic portion sizes. In my opinion this place is better than Cava and Chipotle, and it's way healthier as well. I also ordered their ripple fries and while the Aioli it came with was awesome, the fries were so stale! My wife and I had been looking forward to having a sweet green by us. Went in on Sunday for lunch. Unfortunately, the restaurant had a bit of an unpleasant smell. Almost smelled like the inside of a pet store. We ended up taking our order to go rather than eat there. At least the employees were friendly. We ate around 11:30 am, wife couldn't finish hers. The salad bowls here are excellent, very tasty, and fresh. All of the ingredients were amazing in quality and I spoke with the manager who explained that they will not serve any food if it shows signs of mold or spoilage. They literally put a half rotten avocado next to the Salmon with visible brown marks on the inside and outside. The salmon had an odd gooey texture on top. I have never seen something like that on a piece of salmon in my life. I tried to get a refund from DoorDash, but they would not refund me or help me get a replacement. Pretty sure this location recently opened so we need to cut them some slack... But they do need to get ahead of this and take a look at some others reviews of this location. We went there because we had eaten at other Sweetgreens and those experiences were pretty positive. I hope they make it because the food is good and a nice alternative to burgers and fried chicken sandwiches. They have 4 or 5 self order kiosks... not sure this will work long term as many folks are uncomfortable using these exclusively. Our kiosk wouldn't accept the order so we asked for help which came in the form of a young lady simply saying "yeah try again at another one". No other alternative? Couldn't she have taken our order? Guess not. We soldiered on.. next kiosk and do it all over again. We had planned to dine in but our food was bagged up to go so we took it home instead. I don't recall seeing the option for takeout or dine in. Drinks are behind the counter so I don't think you get refills but we took ours out so not sure. We tried the air fried potato chips and the pickle catchup. The catchup was great but the fries were way over done and hard to chew. Seemed stale. read more
