Beef stew without ANY beef.
Dree D.

Nice quaint place. Nothing wrong with the customer service aside from a lil bait and switch. Although huge potential to be delicious, for a $10 beef stew you'd expect at least a few pieces of beef. I had ( count ) 2 tiny pieces of beef. Frozen green beans, and a spoonful of disappointment. I'm outdone.

The weather is still cold in April and I took the chance to order from this place even though I haven't heard much about it. The kale and black eyed peas soup is very flavorful and tasted really healthy. The crab cake was pretty standard- I was surprised by the size of it. The tuna sandwich was also delicious with the bread that was used for it. I'm curious to check out the other soups and items from this restaurant

I had a unbelievable craving for soup in the summer - judge me I'm anemic - and needed to get something on the go. The SOUP QUEENs are doing thing at the soup dive. The part that got me was 1- all the ingredients are at the highest quality available and 2- they don't compromise quality for challenges. I'd rather pay a bit more than have to question if the chicken is halal or the seafood is imatation. No faking the funk here, my soup was DELICIOUS. Salmon patty too. I'll be back for sure.

Halal Chicken Breast Dinner w mixed vegetables, spinach and cornbread!

I've had their food from their food truck and was very impressed! The teriyaki chicken was moist and had a ton of flavor. The red skin mashed potatoes were good along w mixed vegetables and a nice size of corn bread. A very good lunch for $11 was worth it. This brought me to their Southfield location. I ordered the same thing but w spinach instead of mashed potatoes. In store price was a little higher at $12.50. The staff was super friendly. I would pass on the upgrade for spinach bc it didn't have much flavor. I again really enjoyed the flavor in the teriyaki chicken and the green dip. I sampled the salmon chowder, I will order a bowl of that next time. I look forward to having them again.

We get food trucks at work once a week and this one was awesome! Many people expected a variety of soups but it was so much more. They did have gumbo, chicken noodle and a tomato soup on the menu. I tried the wild Alaskan salmon fillet which came with two sides. I opted to get double veggies instead of the mashed potatoes. My friend ordered the salmon crockets. We both really enjoyed our meals, everything tasted very fresh. They make everything from scratch, have gluten free options and use healthy ingredients like extra virgin olive oil. I would definitely order again if I saw this truck around town.

Taste is good and their chicken chipotle sandwich is really great. But it is a bit too expensive. The smallest soup code me 8$.

The restaurant itself was clean, calm, and welcoming, and the food coming out of the kitchen looked really good. They do offer gluten-free buns, which was exciting to see at first. When I asked about the meats though, the person at the counter let me know that their meat options aren't gluten-free. Since I have Celiac disease, that meant I wasn't able to order anything. I did appreciate how straightforward and accommodating the staff were about it. They answered my questions without hesitation, which is always helpful when navigating gluten-free dining. Even though I couldn't eat there, the place looked well run and the atmosphere was nice. I'd still recommend it if gluten isn't a concern.

My kid had a hot pastrami sandwich. Let me start by saying that my sandwich was not only perfect, but it was massive. Expensive? Yes. But I more than got what I paid for. This felt like it was right around a pound of meat absolutely massive, it's 7 hours later and I am not even close to hungry. Great value here! Staff is friendly too. Basic interior, nothing fancy here. But the good is great. I highly suggest you order at the counter, not the kiosk, they have a ton of stuff not on the menu on the kiosk! J.Ja

Left in the capable hands of Edith H, our server, we thoroughly enjoyed the beverages, food and overall experience. My cappuccino was perfectly executed - frothy and hot. My companion declared the Lump Cake Crab Benedict the BEST EVER. NOTE: a 20% Gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Edith was kind enough to encircle the charge when she handed us the check. Just one more wonderful thing about her and the excellent service we received. Parking is complimentary with plenty of spaces just behind the building. Total bill was reasonable, considering the quality of the service and tip worked into the check at just under $70.

It's…read moredefinitely not the cheapest deli out there, but once you taste the food, you understand exactly why. The quality is absolutely top‑notch. Their tuna is unreal--dangerously good--and the corned beef is everything you'd hope for and more. I'll be honest: when you walk up, the place doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside, it feels like a small, old‑school grocery store that hasn't changed much over the years. But don't let that fool you for a second. This is one of those "don't judge a book by its cover" spots where the food does all the talking--and it speaks loud and clear. Star Deli is a staple, and honestly, I feel like I shouldn't even have to explain why it's great. It's been here forever because it deserves to be. If you're not getting Star Deli, wow--you're seriously missing out. This place is an absolute classic, and the food is nothing short of amazing. ---

Don't eat here. No one in there right mind would pay $20 for a simple sandwich. It's 4 ingredients, they got upset with me when I was politely confused due to the price.. a simple sandwich doesn't cost $20. There is no reason a sandwich with two slices of bread, some sandwich meat, bottled Russian dressing, and two slices of cheese would cost anywhere over $8... I have been patronizing this restaurant for over 12 years. I have a feeling that they are taking advantage of their long standing position in this community, a loyal customer base, and customers not understanding pricing of beef.. 6 slices of corn beef is about $3, two slices of rye bread is $0.50, two slices of Swiss cheese is $0.20, a spread of Russian dressing is $0.05.... And they will charge you $20 for a sandwich..... this is awful, disloyal, and advantageous. Don't go here, find another place for lunch that respects hard working people trying to get a decent sandwich. Their food is great, but no intelligent person is paying $20 for a sandwich. It's almost laughable if it wasn't so disrespectful.
