I've eaten out all over D.C. but have never been inspired to write a Yelp review until I encountered Donna at Soup Up. My husband and I hosted a party for approximately 30 guests, and decided we wanted to serve Caribbean-inspired food. I quickly remember the jerk chicken and jerk shrimp rolls at Soup Up. I emailed Donna and asked if she could meet our catering needs. Not only was she willing to meet them, she was beyond professional and easy to work with the entire time. She helped us meet our budget, and throw one of the most successful parties we've ever hosted. She prepared approximately 60 rolls, 120 jerk wings, and 50 corn buttons. The food was amazing. In fact, folks called me the day after and two days after the party to tell me those were the best jerk wings they've ever eaten. We're having a birthday party this weekend for one of our sons, and I'm already thinking about placing a second order of those wings! read more

We tried a smorgasbord of items. The shrimp egg roll, which my boyfriend called the cabbage egg roll was okay. Not amazing. Not the worst. Portions were generous especially for the price. The best dish we shared was the crispy Szechuan beef. But one can only eat so much of that ? We also got one of the tofu dishes. I can't remember which sauce. I friggin hated it. I found the sauce for the tofu and also for the drunken noodles to be thick. Thicckkkkkkk. The noodles for the drunken noodles and the shrimp in the drunken noodles were perfection. But the smell of the dish was an odd Marsala wine like scent ? Listen. We planned poorly for Christmas and this was open. Would i come back for egg roll fest and try every single egg roll? Yes.
