I've been having issues with the buzzing noise on my boat speakers for a very long time since the deck and amp was installed previously by another company. I went and here to have my subwoofers that I had just taken out of one car, put into my new car. The guy kept trying to sell me other parts (which is understandable), but he was telling me that my amplifier was underpowered for my speakers and that it wouldn't sound good. I had just taken them out of my Monte Carlo, and they were producing obnoxious bass. He charged me 200$ to run some wires, and it took 10 hours. Then when I listened to it, the bass was almost non existent. He said it was because I needed to buy a few new pieces of equipment, even when I told him how much bass I was making in my old car. There was no way the power was lost over the span of a week. He said he could tweak something. He twisted a knob in a device and it made a little bit of bass, and he told me that's Just how it'd sound until I buy an upgraded amp and module. I looked up the amp he was trying to sell me, and he off the bat added a 100$ mark up to the price from BestBuy. A week later, I looked at my amplifier noticed that he had turned down all of the power and bass on my amp in order to try to convince me that my amp was flawed or worn down. I turned those knobs back up, and now I'm back to obnoxious bass. I'm a person that spends a lot of money on stereo equipment and gadgets, and I have a lot of Friends that trust my recommendations when it comes to things like this. I would not go back here, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They potentially missed out on thousands of dollars in business by trying to scam me for an extra couple of hundred. read more

If you go to sound waves for anything, anything at all, ask for Jeff. Jeff is a genius in the Audio field.He helped me with a wiring harness issue that I had with my pioneer deck. Then I couldn't get power to my Phoenix gold amp and he found a short in my remote wire. Before you know it I'm back out on the streets making noise and picking up chicks, doin my thang you know. Man I hardly know Jeff but I love that guy like a brother. Very good people at sound waves not out to just get your money, very professional, courteous, clean shop. Came into sound waves after visiting a couple other stores in the area. All I went in to buy was an amp for a subwoofer that I had bought used. They started out by checking out my subwoofer to find the best amp for it and found that the subwoofer was blown. After talking to a couple of the guys that work there, they had replaced the subwoofer and paired it with an amp for an amazing deal! I have had work done by this shop in the passed as well for an install, I had brought my own wiring but the shop didn't feel comfortable using it so they used their wiring that they preferred, for no extra cost! I always try to support small businesses. I got an estimate and had the work done two days later. The cashier overcharged for the items and the installation. I caught one overcharge for the items and reiterated the estimate charges at the time of sale and he changed the amount due. When I got home I realized I had also been overcharged for the labor. I went back to the store and spoke to the "manager" who refused to reimburse me. He said that I had gotten a great deal and the amount I was charged was their standard rate for labor. When I said it wasn't what was quoted, he refused to reimburse me. When I asked for the owner's name and number, he refused to give me the information. I will never go to the store again. Little business or not, they will not be in business at all if they continue these practices. Extremely disappointing!!! read more

ID GIVE THIS PLACE NEGATIVE RATINGS IF F****** possible Its absolutely astonishing that I have to follow up with a second review. And it hasn't gotten better. I'm trying to be a law abiding citizen and make my payments on time. I have never missed an appointment or payment. Yet when I schedule my appointment with this company twice. They withheld the proper information, the truth from me. They scheduled my appointments, and told me that I was not in jeopardy in any way by having my appointment scheduled for nov18,2018. I called them to have my ignition interlock swapped from my old truck to my new truck and they did just that and took five hours to do so...Way over the installation time for life safers ignition interlock. I witness them make mistake after mistake but maybe guess and check is their motto. So, I ask them if I still have my calibration appointment set up on the 18 of nov, but if I could set it up on the 19 of nov because that was when I got paid. And I specifically asked, would I be in any trouble, would I be putting myself at any risk by doing that. They said no you'll be fine you won't be locked out, you won't pay late fees, you will be just fine. Only to find out when I woke up Friday morning nov 16, that I was locked out of my vehicle, I missed work, my fiancé missed work because my vehicle was parked in front of hers, I had to pay a tow truck driver, and pay fines because of this establishments owner and staff straight up LYING TO MY FACE AND OVER THE PHONE. They did NOT tell me my lock out date was apparently nov 10-nov15. They scheduled and printed my appointments for the 18, and 19 of November, while KNOWING, I clearly should've had an appointment between the dates of nov 10- nov 15. The audacity of the staff here has got me baffled and they will be reviewed by multiple people I've been in contact with. If you want something done right I suggest going elsewhere, if being treated like an average human being matters, I suggest going elsewhere. I called their branch office or whomever sets up schedules appointments, set up an appointment. I showed up 15 mins poor to my apt time only to get pushed behind another guy that was there wth no appointment scheduled, even though I had one scheduled for their opening time of 10 am. I've been told, or lied to time and time again, that it'll be done shortly, you'll be outta hear soon, thirty minutes more, and here I've been waiting for five hours only to watch others get their equipment installed and sent on their way. I witnessed some people come in and leave within an hour and a half. I ask why and what's happening in a calm collected manner only to be told it's almost done we're just closing it up it'll be less than 30 Mina, only to wait an additional hit at the least. As I'm writing this I'm still waiting over an hour for them to "close it up" They have no respect or care for you or what you have planned. First come first serve especially when you have an appointment seems to be something this company can't follow. Or maybe it's just something against me, who knows, this has been my first time in their location and my first time using their service only to be disappointed disrespected and feel helpless and lied to immensely. read more
