I got some great instruction from them both, with helpful quizzing on what I had learned, and opportunities to put learning into practice. Both instructors were such a joy to sail with and learn from. Nick's broad experience and passion for teaching really shine through! Additionally, Lake Union Charters is one of the very few places that could accommodate my schedule for sailing lessons. I am a breastfeeding mama, so I can only be away from my little one for a few hours at a time, and most schools do their beginner's courses over a weekend of 8hr days. I also felt that my 2 hour/class 6 class beginner package was the perfect spacing to allow knowledge, book learning, and the experience I was accumulating to really soak in. These guys are awesome!

There is room for for 6 adults in one boat, how we husband and I both noted it would have been as comfortable with two more people (we only had 4 in our party). 4 adults allows you to stretch out comfortably so nobody is impeding on another's personal space. We went 8-10pm and that was amazing because we had lots of daylight and then a gorgeous sunset decide floating back in, in the dark. The boats have blue light strips and that looks nice at nice! Great choice for out of town guests to experience the beautiful weather, sunsets. Extra long summer evening and a scenery with a fb post :) This business is consistently a guest fav Very unique. We recently booked Hot Tub Boats with our friends for a triple date day out, and we had a blaaasssttt! I was the only one of us out of six who had done it, so it was so fun getting to introduce them to Hot Tub Boats. Upon arrival they asked if it was anybody's first time, and as mentioned it was, so they gave us a 10% discount and free epsom salt soak which was so nice of them and totally unexpected. They got us back into the locker room quickly to pack up all of our stuff and get ready to head to the boats. After a quick safety demo we were out! It's so fun to bring along some snacks, refreshing beverages, and hang out on the lake on a nice day with friends. It was so cool seeing several sea planes landing and taking off! My only complaint is that two hours on the boat goes waaaay too fast. But that just gives me an excuse to book again. :) 10/10 do recommend checking them out if you haven't, it's the perfect day out!

This would especially be a great thing to add to your itinerary if you're only in the city for a short time, as you get to see a lot of landmarks in a short time. You also get to hear about the city's history and key industries. The ride overall is pretty smooth, and my husband, who gets motion sickness, was totally fine. The boat when docked can experience a little more motion, however, so your mileage may vary. We also found it easy to get seats with good views, and the guides were easy to hear anywhere on the boat. The crew were friendly and engaging, and Angelo and the other staff were very kind to us when my husband and I mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary.

Upon arrival to the dock, it was very cloudy and cold, but the clouds cleared for a gorgeous sunset cruise. It worked perfectly because there were only ~10 people on the ship with us, so we could spread out with our snacks. Dean kindly brought around blankets and coats for the wind and cold. Tony did a great job sailing us around and making sure everyone got a good view in all directions. I'll definitely be taking out of town visitors here in the future!

The boat we ended up on, the "Sightseer", was not their regular brunch cruise boat but it was still super cool. We didn't mind the family style seating although I think if we were to do this cruise again we'd want to at least try the other boat style just for the experience. I just learned about a Meetup group that does a monthly paddle from NWOC combined with having Swedish pancakes at the nearby (about 4 blocks away) Swedish center. Apparently this happens the first Sunday of each month. Several of us from PTCC plan to try that out.
