Despite being not the best time of year or day, we hooked about 15 fish, got four salmon in the boat, and even caught and kept one delicious coho salmon! The boat is a marvel. Great tech, comfortable, and even has a bathroom. It is a smaller boat, our party of six was pretty close when we were all outside the cabin. But that is exactly what we were looking for as part of our family reunion. A.J. kept things moving with 2-3 poles in the water at all times. He was extremely knowledgeable about the boat, sound, and fish. I expect his father, the other captain, is almost as good! Highly recommended!!

My fishing skills are non-existent so I can use all the help I can get. We left a little before 10 am during the peak pink salmon season. The boat is super comfortable. It's equipped with a bathroom, which is a must for anything longer than a couple hours. The cabin is heated and they even had water available for us. Captain Dale and his son were super kind and patient in explaining everything to the two curious kids in our group. The fishing started out pretty quiet, but a nearby charter shared some info about a hot spot, to which we quickly went to. Within thirty minutes, we all had our limits. It was so much fun to see the kids catching their first ever salmon. As we headed back to the marina, Dale's son was amazing and obliged the kids' wish to do some fast boat driving. Dale even cleaned and filleted our fish for us. This charter was so worth it! I would definitely book again for next salmon season!

The first thing you notice is the store is packed to the gills (appropriate right?) with fishing tackle, bait, rods, reels, nets, paddles, crab traps, bows, sling shots and.............. you get the picture. Ted's sport Center has in stock somewhere whatever you came in to buy! Friendly advice is also offered if you ask them what fishery is producing and what depth with which lure or bait is working to catch them too. I don't know why, but I have always been scared crossing the bridge over the railroad tracks on the way from the parking lot to the beach. I have no fear of heights, and in fact I feel much more peaceful in the air or on the water than I do on the earth. The bridge is sturdy and safe, with tall, secure fencing on both sides. Little kids were crossing it today with no fear at all. One little kid was getting pulled across it in a large wagon. That was pretty cute to see. It is a bit of a trek from the parking lot to the beach area, a trek that includes this perfectly safe bridge which I somehow mysteriously feel scared while walking on. I recently injured my right heel playing tennis, so I was limping and hobbling and walking quite slowly, but this walk was still quite doable for me today. There were a lot of people at this beach park today, but it really didn't feel crowded, and everyone we talked to was friendly. The only slight bummer was that one of the reasons that we went out there today was to talk with a Naturalist from the Seattle Aquarium. We talked with 3 different Naturalists. They were all friendly enough, but all 3 of them seemed noticeably unenthusiastic about talking about the sea life at this beach park. Oh well, we moved on pretty quickly from that, and we really enjoyed this beach park anyway. There were a few people flying kites, and the mountains looked clear and bright behind the sunlit water. I waded in the water (one of my favorite things to do in life), and the cold waves breaking over my legs and feet felt wonderful on a hot day like today. 5 stars for sure. This place is so beautiful.
