I have a 2007 Honda Civic Ex Coupe and became interested in installing a touchscreen radio/Bluetooth Receiver after my stock radio started giving me issues. The staff are amazing here! Super friendly and accommodating, and the job gets done QUICK. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because I had to return more than once to get my newly installed touchscreen working properly. The first time, the sound would go in and out. I went back in and with the warranty given (30 days), they immediately worked on the car. The second time, the sound worked, but every time I accelerated, the sound would go away. I took it in again, and immediately had that repaired. FInally, I was told the issue would be something with re-wiring and adding an amp, which had an added cost of $250 to my overall total of $950, BUT the staff gave me a discount, so I only paid $125 for that amp installation. (Kinda sucked, but I understood once I was given an honest explanation) Again, it is pricey, but the overall quality of the work is definitely worth exploring. If you are a local and want to have a radio installed, I suggest you add this place to your list as you shop around for good prices. The customer service was ultimately what made me decide to stick around. I would trust them to install something else, as long as they continue that good customer service, honesty, and good communication. Not a good experience and will not be returning! My daughter and I came to look into checking out my remote starter and seeing if it can be fixed or see about a new one. Either way I never got a chance to speak with a worker. When we came in, a male employee big, tall with a black ponytail was talking with a couple for a few minutes. He noticed us but didnt say hi or be with you in a second but as I mentioned he was talking with someone. Ok literally after they finished I was walking up to him when a random guy came in front of me and started asking him questions in Spanish. Do you not see me here?! The employee didn't say anything as he kept talking to the guy. Not sure if it was a racist or sexist thing either way I refuse to give my business to someone who is unprofessional and nonchalant. There are a ton of places that fixes repairs and or sell remote starters and this Soundbytes in Northlake is not it. Moving on to a place with class and treat customers with respect. First of all not fair pricing. I certainly did not get what I paid for. Upgrading factory stereo starting with speakers then head unit. So far with $400 in speakers and a $400 amp my factory stereo still sounded better. I'm sure when I get the head unit it will sound better but there's the still should be some improvement I'll know when I get to head unit from a different shop. I'm not blaming them for their high prices my fault for not doing my due diligence. But if everything sounded like it should I won't be writing this post. read more

I came here a few times to add some accessories to my car such as subwoofer system, remote start and security, headunit, and tints. To make this simple: This place was terrible. They wired my subwoofers wrong and fried my amp. They did a horrible job applying the tints (had to come back months later because three of my tinted windows started to peal). They peformed an installation on my headunit similar to what a child can do (edges were uneven and used plastic pieces to cover up the poor work). There's a reason you come to an "authorized" car audio dealer to take care of your car's system: you want them to do a professional job, rather than yourself performing trial and error. You should also feel confident spending over 1000$ invested into your car. This was not the case. Save yourself not only the time, but frustration before you think about coming here. Spend the extra few bucks and go to a dealer who has a reputable name. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! Completely mediocre work and shady staff, specially the manager/owner (his name is Sal). Took in my car for a stereo installation and was completely over priced and after I talked him down his staff did the worst job I have ever seen. Did not even re-assemble my dash properly. I'm not much of a person to review, but my gf loves it and reads anything before going any where. She originally read the bad reviews for this place and said not to go. I being a rebel went anyway hoping for the best. I had a Dodge Dart that I wanted to run some wires for an amp. Sal was very friendly when I first walked in and asked for a quote on setting up my subs. I already had my subs in the case and an amp. I just needed my wired run. He was honest with me and told me what I needed. I say honest because I use to work at a shop while in high school so I knew what I needed, I just wanted to see if he'd cheat me, but he didn't. I would've done the instillation myself but I didn't have all the tools or wired or anything really, plus it was always hot in the summer and I wasn't trying to do all that in the heat. I told him if you can get this done in around an hour and everything works great. I'll keep coming back. He gave me his word and had his guys work on it. I went to get lunch with the same gf that said don't go. We weren't even done eating when he called to tell me it was ready. I was satisfied. He mentioned my amp didn't want to shut off but I figured I already worked on something like that and I can fix that easily. It turned out the amp fixed itself and I was good to go. I'm satisfied and I will be going back soon to replace all my speakers for some extra juice in the car. I would recommend going and giving them a try. Another great experience with Sal, went there to have a convenience issue fixed on my Alarm that he installed. Again, great service. He took me in right away and fixed my issue. He was perfect in every way. I travel 15 miles and pass by at least 3 auto alarm places and I always go past them straight to Sound Bytes because there I know I will get the best service from Sal and his staff and get my needs taken care of. Over the years we have all have tried to save money and ended up with a Headache on our hands either because of lack of experience or the inexperienced & that sure was not the case here , I have now taken over 4 Vehicles to them over the years for things as simple as a Radio installation to a complete system overhaul. My most recent experience was bringing in my truck that I Love the most , I had work done at the place I had purchased the truck and after 9 days of keeping it they told me they couldn't do the work, I brought here and Spoke with the Owner Luis and at No Charge he went thru the system and got everything in working order.... After some time I ended up bringing back my truck and for half the cost to me they put in a NEW Remote Start that works 100% better ...
