But we were so disappointed with the quality of the food we couldn't even finish everything. So I got 2 lunch orders: rice with char siu and roast pork, and rice with roast duck and chicken. I also ordered half pound of beef trip to try. So this way we got to sample everything. At the end the only thing we enjoyed was the roast pork. The skin was crispy and meat had good flavor. The duck had too much fat. There was not much meat left after getting rid of the bones and the fat. The chicken was quite mushy. The texture just was not right probably because it wasn't too fresh? The char siu was probably one of the worst I have even had. It had so much tendon that there was not a single piece that we could even chew through it. And the beef tripe was soooooo salty. It was just very disappointing. It was relatively cheap though compared to other restaurants and they gave us a very big portion but I don't think I will go back given that there are places that sell better roast duck and char siu.

GET THE CORN BREAD!…read more Okay, now that the most important information is there...we loved this spot! The brisket plate was perfect for two meals. It falls apart as you're eating it in all the best ways. I regret not ordering it by the pound. The potato salad was a bit too mustardy for me but the cream corn was 10/10 I should've asked for it in a cup. My favorite part was the corn bread. I'm used to corn bread being dry and not my choice of a bbq side but I took a chance thanks to the employee hyping up all my food choices and tried it. The texture was more of a bread budding and was unbelievably delicious. I regret only getting one piece and not another one for the following day. I guess what I'm trying to say is, swing on by, order a little bit of everything and you'll leave a few pounds heavier and very happy.

It helps when the owner does the slicing and offers the choice between lean, fatty or some of both when selection brisket and burnt ends. All served with patience and a smile. Their meats have converted my wife into a carnivore and it's not hard to see why she crossed over into the smoky side. The samples themselves were more than generous. The homemade BBQ is divine. The meat is tender and smokey, reminiscent of the keawe wood. I did a takeout order of their hamburger steak gravy all over and Sweet Sour Spareribs. Remember I said I was hungry? After I ordered the mini Garlic Ahi, the cashier said it's a better deal to get the special... ok! Later, she told me that they sold out of ahi and can give me mahimahi... ok! Thank you! The rice was ok and the macaroni salad had small bits of carrot and onion in it. I dined in because I was between meetings. It was hard to find at first (based on our map), but found that the entrance is at the back of the building, and it's located on the second floor. Confirmed my order was for 2 tonkatsu specials and paid. Then had to wait another 20 minutes to get it. I guess the phone order didn't do much besides give them a head's up that I was coming? When I got it, I was a little underwhelmed. The middle part of the katsu wasn't golden brown, so it could have been cooked a little more evenly. The katsu was quite good tho. Juicy and the panko on the outside was good. Good amount of rice and the kimchi tasted really good. I would try another lunch special again if I'm craving some Japanese food if I have the time to wait for the food. 3/5 for communication. 4.5/5 for food Limited street parking in the area.

We came here after having some craving for AYCE Korean BBQ, and Moobongri did not disappoint!…read more You get the usual ahjjuma service during the dining experience, but I think they were even more attentive/helpful than at where I live. The restaurant has a traditional but modern vibe, and there were plenty of parking available! We opted for the Premium AYCE selection, and the options were all very good. My fiance and I particularly enjoyed the beef tongue, marinated galbi, and the marinated finger beef. My fiance liked the intestine as well, but I was less a fan since the method of grilling at MBR could not get it to crisp like how I like it (personal preference). Overall, attentive service, good quality of meats, and enjoyable banchan dishes as well.

My noodles came quickly and then the banchan. Unfortunately I finished my noodles before my husbands dish arrived. It finally did come out, sizzling and he started eating. Our server didn't check back on us once. She was eating her lunch and waiting on the tables with the BBQs. We had to wave at her a bunch of times to ask for a refill of 1 side dish and when she finally came over she said a bunch of not so friendly Korean things to me and then stormed off. A few minutes later she came back with the side dish and sort of flung it at us. We won't be back. The service was terrible and the food just okay. I really don't like the taste of their cold noodles but Choi's Garden closed down last month and Yu Chun has the same problem with surly servers who can ruin a meal. Come on. Korean restaurants can do better in Honolulu. We don't always feel like BBQ so treat those of us who don't order the meat spread with a little more respect. Plus, we are seniors who don't like food being flung at us and being yelled at in Korean. We still tip 22% for almost all dining out, but I think we will need to be more selective in the future. What has happened to dining out lately. It is a sad statement that one is treated like that when eating out is so expensive and becoming a luxury for a lot of us. I hope their management cares about their service ratings.

He and the cashier said they give the sauce already in the containers that they prepacked. The containers are very small and the "juice" is very, very watered down with added water and sugar, which makes it too sweet. Pouring it on my Jasmine rice didn't taste good at all. Driving all the way to Chinatown to give them my business is not worth it. They should treat their customers as they would treat their own family. The juice I heard is very prized and valuable and the butchers use it for many things.
