4/12/26 Spitfire grill and bought breakfast for $13 I've had bought from them before but it wasn't off the menu. It was a hot packaged meal for the cost of $5.99- $8 This time though I went with the $10.99 island breakfast and $1.59 (I think it was $1.59) for two choices of meat. I picked the link sausage and Portuguese sausage. Maybe I should have picked something like "Longilis sausage or SPAM" sorry if I spelled Longilis wrong.... I don't often get to have that Filipino sausage but I wasn't in the mood for it... & I'm Filipino!! Oh well.... Anyway- I wanted to point out that as nice the breakfast is, it really was good actually... I feel like I could have gotten 4 pieces of the meat since I paid "extra" it could have been 4 pieces of sausage links and 4 pieces of Portuguese sausage.... And like I said... maybe I should have picked the Longilis. The woman behind the counter would have maybe given me two pieces cause one "Longilis" doesn't look right... I would have at least had two pieces of that then just 3 small links and 3 thin cut pieces of Portuguese sausage... Would I return... well yeah of course cause they are right there.... Close to my job... and they open at 6:30am instead of 7am... Thanks Spitfire for breakfast Generosity doesn't cost nothing. read more

Out late at night and craving Hawaiian pizza, I stumbled on this spot and it delivered. I went with the version that had kalua pork, pineapple, provolone, mozzarella, and barbecue sauce. It looked great and tasted just as good. The place was packed late at night, so it was tough to find a seat, but it worked perfectly as a takeout option. This eatery is right next to Basalt. We would come here to take out since it's right next to our hotel that we do staycations at. Their food and prices are reasonable. Their fried rice is really good. It has different types of meats in it. We tried their ube pancakes also. I'm not sure if it's new to their menu but it's flavorful also! Their lunch menu is also a wide range of selection. The flat bread is good for two people. The only thing sucks is that homeless people like to linger around there or inside. read more

Spitfire is kind of a grab and go food counter that offers a broad range of food options. We stopped by for a quick lunch where everyone could pick what the wanted. The flatbread pizza and salads look really good. We ordered a couple flatbreads and a grab and go salad. They have a couple of tables inside. I guess this is a small food court. There were no tables available but we were able to cobble seating together outside. The table was dirty and people were walking all around us. If you can't get a table inside, go somewhere else. The flatbreads were ready in about 15 minutes. They were hot and came out in a box. The crust was crispy and good. The toppings were generous with lots of fresh cheese. The Margarita cheese had big medallions of fresh mozzarella and slices of tomato. The was a little spinach buried beneath the cheese. The pizza was delicious. The Meatlover pizza was also good with bits of bacon, sausage, pepperoni and mushroom. The salad was fresh and came with a spicy dressing that was hot and tangy. The salad was packed with veggies and tabouli and was a winner in my book. So the food is good, but the place falls apart in the experience. No public restrooms, I wanted to wash hands. Inadequate seating. Dirty table. And we were charged extra for a to-go box for the leftovers. The prices were reasonable, even inexpensive. The food was good. Located in the Duke's Lane Market, we saw plenty of people getting the malasadas here. We got the ube malasada and the mini mochi malasada. Not a big fan of donuts usually. Spitfire is a great quick service place to eat in Waikiki that is actually decently priced compared to everything else in the area. It's not restaurant sit down food, it's quick service and it's great for the food you're ordering. We made a few stops here as we found it to be the most affordable and filling in the area. I ordered the half chicken with mash and my husband got the chicken tenders and curly fries. Both were great portion sizes, left us filling full every time. read more

The Spitfire was close to our hotel, so we stopped in twice to grab a bite. The place is a cross between a mini market and grill. The Kal I Beef and teriyaki chicken were really good, and the portion sizes were excellent as well. Since it's sort of a fast casual type place, the seating is a bit sparse and not all that comfortable. read more

Food? The quality is acceptable, and the price for the portion size is fine. Of course, this is Waikiki, so expect to pay about 30% more than you would at a kama'aina-serving restaurant. You will find better options for pizzas and flatbreads close by. Service? I have great sympathy for restaurant/grocery owners. Even in Hawaii with minimum wage requirements providing a "living wage," it's still hard to find employees who will turn on their personality for the customer. It's this type of sweet courtesy that brings customers back. The service here is lacking. Ambiance? There is none as this is a take-out place. However, Duke's is a very clean, pretty well-stocked grocery for such a touristy area. read more

Dukes Lane Market & Eatery is a little shopping arcade filled with a variety of vendors from coffee, bakery, Basalt restaurant and this Spitfirre Rotisserie & Flatbread even a mini market all on the ground floor of the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach. With a huge menu offering items local will love like fried rice, loco moco to burgers and flatbread pizzas, and yes everything is crafted which does reflect the prices being in the heart of Waikiki I was really craving something simple and looked at some grab and go refrigerated items and noticed a soba plate. This was a Matcha Soba with a piece of inari sushi originally at $6.29 was at a 20% discount sounds just what I was looking for as it came out to $5.27 including tax. There are just three tables there for the entire place which is pretty sad though I was lucky to grab one and yes the soba was dated so it was very very cold though still okay the sushi was just hard and pretty much inedible but it satisfied me and I was just thrilled for the price. The staff there is just okay did the very minimum of greet and service gave me a fork and napkins never asked about a bag or chopsticks mind you I'm having soba...whatever and just rolled with it and am thankful I went frugal as this wasn't the place that wanted my biz...aloha. I didn't want to eat fast food for breakfast before my appointment. I walked in to the Dukes Lane Market curious to see what was available. I got into line at Spitfire and saw their ready made bentos and order menu. The first strike was the lady greeting and taking an order from a tourist who wasn't in line. Her coworker noticed me (and my mood) and called me over. Upon observing their interaction, I realized the lady who skipped me was the shift supervisor. I was hungry and looking forward to my breakfast order: rice, eggs, and breakfast meats. It looked good when I got to my desk. After eating, I realized that this was pre made (cafeteria style). The eggs were overcooked, and the meat has quite bland. I would have been happier with the food from McDonald's. Seriously. The good is that food was provided relatively quickly. If it wasn't for being overlooked, I might give this 3 starts. read more

I've actually had Loco Moco, Cheeseburgers, Chicken sandwiches, Breakfast bowls with Fried Rice, and a variety of Malasadas! I've had the Original Malasada, Cinnamon, Mango, Mochi Ube and Haupia! On my latest visit I decided on the Haupia Malasada to give me that island style boost! The Malasadas here is a nice option when craving the Portuguese dessert and not willing to drive up to Leonard's or travel to one of the local bakeries like Pipeline, etc. It's by no means top tier Malasadas but if you want fresh and tasty here it is! Super good food and it came out fast. Ordered the kimchi fried rice and it comes with two eggs with golden yolks and korean bbq pork. Wasn't too spicy and the meat was really juicy and tender. They are located near the International Market inside of Duke's Lane on Kuhio. It was good enough for our party of 3 to go here twice during our time in Waikiki. This place offers a variety of options that include poke, pizza, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, pasta, prepared hot foods that vary daily (e.g. fried chicken, beef stew, teriyaki chicken, etc.), pastries, cakes, cookies, etc. Atleast some of the sweets are made daily and may sell out by early evening. I was pleased to find that I could order some items by the pound. All together I had a bacon Cheeseburger, beef stew, a cobb salad and the teriyaki chicken. As for me, I did enjoy everything that I had. I was able to order both the beef stew (meat only) and the teriyaki chicken by the pound inst3ad of purchasing it as a meal with sides. As for my travel companions, the only complaint that I heard was that the chicken sandwich did not look as delicious in the real as it did on the menu photo. For the items that are made to order there can be a little bit of a wait, say 10-20 minutes or so. They have an open kitchen so you are able to watch as your order is prepared. If we were there longer, I'm fairly sure that we would have gone there again. read more

I shouldn't know this but shhhhh Spitfire has the most delicious mochisadas. The malasadas made with mochi flour provide the perfect chew. Have, on various occasions tried the ube flavored, the mango flavored, and the original. My favorite being the ube. Spitfire also has some amazingly delicious plates of food. Casual takeout. Eat at one of the few tables outside or on the side or take to go. Local seasonings done right. The lechon always looking fresh and delicious. The plates generous portions. Grab and go bentos also available. Spitfire is located in the multi-use space known as Duke's Lane and sandwiched between rhe International Marketplace and the Starbucks Reserve on Kuhio Avenue, two of my other favorite places. In the same complex as Basalt ..which makes takeout here very tempting whenever I visit one of my other favorite venues or...just want to grab some good ole comfort food to go. Parking is convenient in the Hyatt Centric Parking lot accessed on Seaside Avenue and validated. All things considered, for Waikiki, about as good as it gets for to go options! read more

This review is for the ube mochi malasada, which isn't technically Spitfire but it's located in the same market and you can pay for it at Spitfire. There's different flavors of malasadas, including sugar and haupia. I was bummed they ran out of haupia because that was the only other flavor I was interested in trying out. I bought a pizza today and had a piece of metal in it, i almost choked on it, it got stocked in my mouth, i went back to that place to show them and the person i talked too just threw that piece of metal on the floor to make it disappear and told me that she doesn't know where it comes from and said that she can just make me an other pizza... she didn't care at all, it was a rusty piece of metal and i don't even know if I swallowed more like this. We were suppose to go to another place to eat but we passed by and saw this store. We walked inside and saw what we like. I don't know if this is our breakfast or brunch but we got so much food . We started with the Ube Mochi Masalada, the first bite was yummy and chewy but, no Ube taste the Mango Mochi Masalada was better than Ube Mochi Masalada. At least it had a Mango taste, after a couple of bites we felt heavy. The Flatbread was so thin, it's similar to thin crust. The Pineapple Ham with BBQ sauce was so good. The Mozzarella Cheese Tomato was also good but I liked the Pineapple one more. The Haupia Filled Masalada was the most popular Masalada, but I just tasted some sweet cream with the dense donut. We got a sugar masalada, a taro mochi masalada, and a sugar mochi masalada. We did not like the sugar masalada because it was too sweet. The mochi masaladas were much better and very tasty! They have a great looking setup. You go in, you see the pieces of lechon and other pieces of meat, the beef stew, the sides and flatbreads. I was really hoping that this food would taste good and bring a party to my mouth. But no, it didn't. 1) The lechon had no flavor. It tasted like meat but with the other colors of (what I took to be) herbs and spices, I expected to be hit with the delicious flavor of a properly roasted piece of pork. Instead, it just tasted like meat. Even a bit of salt could have helped. The rice that came with this was just rice. No more, no less. If it had been paired with a flavorful piece of meat and it's juices, that would have been great. But plain rice with plain meat and plain steamed veggies was something that I could make at home. Luckily our hotel room had an oven, so we could heat the food and get a good crisp going on the cracklin, not that it really helped, but that was an interesting thing. read more

If you want something quick, purchase one of the readymade hot to go meals which are reasonably priced and filling. Occasionally you will find one that's 20% off which is what I usually purchased. My daughter ordered a flat bread which was very good and large enough to share. She also tried their poke bowl which she said was also good. I ordered the kim chee fried rice and it was pretty good. It was $13.99 and you get bacon, teriyaki pork, two eggs and rice with kim chee. They have a few tables in the center of the area for seating. Definitely not a lot of tables but if you come after lunch time you might get lucky. Watch out for the birds and don't feed them. I saw a few people feeding them and it just attracted more birds lol. In the same area they have a small market that offers all different types of items from food to clothes. There's also a bakery that serves malasadas so if you don't want to make the drive, you could buy some here. Overall, first time coming here and would definitely come back. read more
