I recently got an invite to check out a new coffee shop in town. As soon as I walked in, I was hit with that unique South Louisiana vibe. The decor is all about rich reds, blacks, and golds, which makes you feel right at home.
There's a little bar set up for drinks that aren't alcoholic, which is super handy. The waitress was so attentive the whole time, making sure everything was perfect and even helping me grab a bag for my leftovers from the basement.
Since I'm a big coffee fan, I was really excited to try their famous coffee. I went with the Velvet Veil, which is a white chocolate mocha with a velvety dark cherry cream on top. It was sweet, but not too much, which was just what I was hoping for.
Even though I was starving, I didn't order dinner because I'm not a big fan of shellfish. So, I went with a breakfast item called a Devils Wrap. I wasn't sure how spicy it would be, but it had just the right amount of heat. The sauce was a great match for the potatoes and egg.
I also spotted a bakery case when we got there, and my sweet tooth got the better of me. I ended up getting the apple with cream cheese pastry, which was the best part of my meal.
I've also seen some rice bowls that I want to try later. Plus, I'd love to go to their live music shows sometime.
Since this place has so much potential, it might just become my new favorite coffee shop. read more
